VN - Ren'Py - The Higher Society Illustrated [v0.24] [xxerikxx]

The game has average graphics and really nice characters. The MC could look a bit more appealing because he looks pretty bad. The story is good but a lot of choices does not effected the outcome of the game. The amount of the content is quite nice. I am missing some clothes variety and changes.

The story is dull and rather nonsensical.
Relationships between characters are weird.
Overall it feels more like a filler than a coherent (planned out) writing.

The animations are so bad that they would better not exist. In many scenes there are missing frames. Spanking scene - has an image of preparing to hit, but not the hit itself, which turns it empty.

One of the most annoying thing in this game, however, is the amount of choices you are prompted to make. I think there are over several hundreds choices in this game, most of which do nothing. It is like a weird AD popup that comes out every other second and makes you stop and wastes time.

This also fades out the important choices in the game if those even exist.

In a single short dialogue you can have 5-10 choices easily, why?

- the bad:
if you expect some descent animations, forget about it. the animations are just 2 renders going in loop, this wouldn't be so problematic if it was well done. sadly here it's not, one exemple you will see the head and torso, the arms going back and forth in poses were just the hip is supposed to move.
also the poses are weird, not realistic.
don't want to be rude but the animations and the poses are not even reaching the level zero.
the second flaw, well it depends on personal tastes for sure but for me, the mc is not good-looking, he's ugly, the face, the body.
therefore it is impossible to believe that all those teens and women just fall in love with him and at first sight like he's not a cucumber with arms and legs but some kind of brad pitt.
the organisation or secret society in this game is just a backside stuff, you see nothing related to it. the whole game is just the mc banging girls. nothing more.

- the good :
the women and petite women have very beautifull faces and their bodies are realistic.
the story and dialogs are interesting, there are no cringe dialogs like in some other games where sleeping with his daughter is involved and where the author is trying to bring some kind of cringe justification for incest for 10 hours. like :
'what am i doing ? it's not right' for 10 hours then in the end :
'you see, my daughter, what's important is that the 2 people love each other with true love, then it is natural and healthy for then to F each other ... blabla".
yeah sure.
here the author didn't embarassed himself with those nonsenses.

- Conclusion : 4 star because the game is better than average ( beautifull girls and smart writting, not boring ), but in my opinion : if you want a game with correct animations then don't bother downloading, the animations here are just grotesque and comical.

also the whole story is just about the mc dating and banging ( training ) young girls , the organisation he works for and train the girls for ? you see nothing in the game. no events, nothing. you just know there are girls and their masters, and that's it.
so if you wanna see something else than the improbable mc banging girls , don't bother downloading.
i was expecting some "inside the organisation" stuff but no. hell you even don't know what the girls do and never see what they do , just assuming they're escorts. like i said this game is just about the mc fuking girls.

I played through v0.23 in a week or so of evenings.

On the plus side:
• The secret society premise is fascinating.
• There is a lot of game to play.
• Numerous hot LIs, most of whom are just barely eighteen.
• The MC has his own sex dungeon.
On the negative:
• The animations are of the simple morph-between-two-positions type, which look so bad I think the game would have been better without them.
• The render-per-scene ratio is one of the lowest I can recall seeing.
• Scene transitions are not telegraphed at all.
• There is little variety in the musical tracks.
• Most of the scenes are slice-of-life stuff that is not very exciting. We get only occasional glimpses of what goes on in THS, which is more interesting content.
• What we do see of the workings of THS seem fragmentary and somewhat nonsensical. My impression is that the dev has only a vague idea how the society is supposed to function, and is making it up as they go along.
• Water is unbelievably dense in the world of THS.

During much of my play time I found myself a little bored at the slow pace, but every once in a while a hot scene would come along that woke me up. I’d probably rate it at 3.5 stars if I could, but will round up to 4. Recommended if you have lots of time and nothing better to do.

Game has a good balance between story and sexual content. Love the girls and the renders as well. Also the lesbian content is a great bonus and the main reason I keep checking back for updates. Hope we see more of those!

0.19 Surprisingly wholesome "incest" like bdsm harem game. At first I avoided this title, especially in its text form but now with proper visuals added to this story it is by far one of the better ones. At least plot wise it is really well written. To the point that I no longer skip most of the "plot" just to go to erotic bits. If you don't skip then its an erotic story for few hours of your time and I do not think of it as time wasted. Girls are really well fleshed out. Each has unique kinks and desires. It is bordering on realism.

The only thing I would change is how most scenes have only one animation or perspective and many of them aren't that good for my taste. Models are excellent. Renders really good. Plot well written, but only in erotic moments this game didn't excel as much as I wanted it to. Story is linear tied to days. Which is why it is progressing smoothly. Each day players have few choices to make. Some more significan't like skipping whole storylines and focusing on other characters. Others so insignifican't that its a wonder why they even added such choice to begin with. Either way, I really liked this story. First I played 0.13 but after that I downloaded 0.19 because I wanted more of it.

Conclusion:
I think this is one of the better "Harem" games out there.
Sure, there are things that could be better, like the things mentioned above.
But this one really does a good job of telling an intruiging story without leaving you blueballed.
The whole premise of a secret society and you recruiting girls is a great idea, and it's surprising that not many have tried that already.
I think there are a lot of things you could do with the secret society, the way you could corrupt girls and especially the wife in participating with them, adding more kinky stuff etc.
All in all, this is a good game and I can recommend playing it.

Generic but not the worst harem game I have played. Overall, the premise and the THS story contradict eachother. It feels like the harem nature of the story doesn't make sense with the premise and vice versa. In a harem game, I would prefer that the premise and the harem aspect flow in unison and feel more natural. I think the THS premise is more suited to a pure corruption story rather than a harem story. Also, the ageplay can be a bit weird and gross sometimes.

Played v18. There are two versions. A text only version and an illustrated version. The text only version is always a bit ahead. Visual novel with a linear plot and a male MC, that becomes part of a secret society and ends up training a slavegirl for the society. All relationships are consensual.
Sadly incest is once again a major fetish in this game and I am kind of burned out when it comes to incest. The main girls are your slave maid, your daughter, and the girl who is your daughter’s age and wants you to be her daddy. Plus a bunch of girls their age. I personally found the MC’s wife more attractive. So the slow build and daddy-daughter relationship stuff was not for me – if you like incest it’s probably great though.
Dialogue and narration is a bit wooden in places but bearable. Normally I don’t comment on lighting and animations, but here there are several scenes where the lighting changes midscene for no reason which is really annoying.
Concerning bdsm there’s rough sex, domination, spanking, device bondage, some bondage, some chastity and denial play and light slave training. There’s quite a lot of content.
The annoying part was that I felt like your training of the girls didn’t change them at all – if you were strict and punished them they acted exactly the same as when you were indulgent and didn’t punish them. It’s a bit frustrating if you train a slavegirl and her behavior stays the same no matter what you do.
Personally I'd give it three stars, but considering that an average player who likes incest would give it four stars I'll be generous

Personally one of my favourites VN Stories so far.

It is simple in its complexity and most of the choices don't really matter. But I think it has good future potential. I only played the illustrated version. So I am not sure where the story will take us.

But aside from Stormside this is the second game I found so far where you train girls with an actual story instead of repeating generic actions for no reason at all.

Don't let the rating fool you. If you like a good Dom/Sub Story this is definitely worth a look.

It's actually quite a feat to create so little tension out of the foundations of a good story like that.

This is literally the kindergarden version of thrill rides. There's nothing of note happening to anyone. Other than everyone falling for the MC for no reason at all, who's being the obstinate reincarnation of every incel benevolent power fantasy. As such he is bumbling through a snooze of a story. It feels like the daily work schedule of Steve from Accounting - if he could get this many girls for some reason.

If that's your thing, go for it. Please be assured that no pixels where harmed in the creation of this story. All those girls, they are just for you - a manly hunk of a dominant alpha man- just like they are in your wet dreams at night.

Render look nice and character design is great

This one has one of the best stories of the AVNs that are presented here. Everything is well thought out and it follows mostly logic. That there are plot holes is excused as the content is so full of sexy things going on all time and it is an AVN.

There are some that have a hang up on that a middle age man has it so easy to get young, beautiful and sexy girls wanting to have sex with him. Then they forget some things, he's good looking, sexy, knows what he want and , last but not least, he's a famous actor. Just look in the real world and see what girl friends even older famous actors get. So not unrealistic at all.

The renders are of a really good quality, even if they sometimes not follow the story as they are set while the dialogue goes one. Still, ok in my book, even if I understand that some may have a problem with that. The LIs are sexy and well portraid, they also have different backgrounds and interests which make the story great. They are also of different body types, even if I miss one with really big breasts and ass.

The only bad thing is the animations. As many pointed out, they are not of a 5* quality. Still, all and all, I give this 5* as all the other things weigh that up.

As usual with my reviews, renders do not really affect my scoring, for the most part.

I do however have a slight change to that in this case based on the animations. Ive done some daz animations, so I know they are hard, and a lot of the reasons why. So first, I will say most of the animation in this game are bad. But that is not why I am deducting. It is because they chose to put animation in a lot of bad places, and that they tried too hard with the animations without the skill to back it up.

To clarify, very basic animations can be.... "good enough". Its when you try getting into more advanced animations where things start to go bad without lots of skill. Example, guy boning girl. If its just his hips moving, its a "good enough" basic animation, but its lacking extra movement to be advanced (head/arm/tits/etc moving). Those things can make it look more realistic but ONLY if done correctly which is VERY hard to do without lots of skill (way more than I have). This dev tried... but failed to get those more advanced ones and instead of just going back to simple ones until they leveled up, they used them anyways. That was a bad decision in my opinion. They were very frequent and constantly just hard to watch. To the point where about 30% through I stopped looking at the renders anytime I thought I noticed animation happening.

The girls in general were actually pretty good looking. Without that bad choice with animations I would have given it an extra star.

Now... the first star was lost from this icky feeling I got so many times in this game. This feeling that something is or is going to happen to one of your LIs. That shit that only the cucks like. I almost didnt play this game, because for some reason I thought it was an NTR game. But someone told me it wasnt and I double checked the tags. So I tried it. But nonstop feeling like shit is about to happen to the girls made me re-check the tags like 5 times. Maybe some people like that feeling that some major drama is about to happen to take your LIs in their porn game, but I don't.

So at least twice I actually asked again "You sure X is not going to happen?" and was told "no, just keep playing". I was actually sure at one point they were purposely trying to lead me into a NTR scene because they thought it would be funny since they know I hate that shit.

• First, the shit with Sophia and the rapist? That is borderline NTR to me. First of all, she was knocked out COLD for 3 full nights with him. The chances that he didnt do anything to her until the 4th night? ZIP. So the player is left basically assuming that she is being raped by him for a VERY LONG portion of the game. The dev then uses dialog to say that no, she wasnt, but he STARTED to try to touch her on the 4th night and she woke up and stopped it so nothing happened? My brain wont buy that. So that was basically a full star there for either misleading, or very badly thought out story.
• Second, The shit with the daughter joining THS. I had an idea early on that I should have said no, because it felt like a trap. You saw what happened to Jenny. Both in her induction (parading her nude in front of everyone, then her being spanked). And then you obviously saw all the shit you did to her as her master. So I just had a bad feeling that submitting you daughter to them was asking for trouble. But again... I was advised not to worry about it and to just try it. And... having made it to the end of content so far (day 35) I am now more confident shit will be fine... but the dev led me through some not fun shit before I got there. A very LONG period of game time where they tell you that before she will be approved, you have to let ANOTHER master have her for TWO DAYS. After you were promised you would be her ONLY MASTER EVER. So you get there and suddenly feel like you made a bad decision (unless you are a cuck and like that shit). It is not until later when you find out the secret that helps ease your mind (a little.. still not totally 100% sure).

Overall, those 2 things each cost a star (the choice to use bad-advanced animations instead of good-basic animations) and the constant need by the dev to make you feel like your girls are in danger. Both of those detracted a LOT from this game for me.

Oh, and the AAAOOOOOOUUUHHH!!!! used for every sex moan started to get really annoying. You dont want to hear the sound my brain came up with for that... and it has no place in sex scenes. But that is minor enough to not count for my review.

Some other minor nitpicking that maybe constructive criticism for the dev:

• Lots of awkward transitions from scene to scene. Having sex, then sitting at dinner table with family. From one image to the next. Very jarring.
• Lots of scenes that needed a new image. Fucking her throat, but now it says you put her on her back. Still shows throatfuck. Then you fuck her, still shows same image. Then you move again. Too many VERY different things have happened to still be showing the throatfuck image.
• Vague choice descriptions. Some of them are VERY hard to tell what they mean. I had to click through some, then go back and change my choice once I saw what it was. Make them more clear. Although.... after digging through the code, 90% of them make no difference except for small dialog. But most users will NOT know that.
• Big gaps with daughter. I know some users (like me) are 90% in this for the daughter content. Incest is best. Dont argue with me. But after doing shit with the daughter, there is a HUUUUUUUGE gap where there is NOTHING with her. It also felt very.. unrealistic. She was begging for his cock one day, and then 2 weeks later hasnt even mentioned it, given him looks, tried anything, etc? Honestly felt like I had broken the game with a bad choice for a while.
• re-use of some dialog. There were at least a couple of scenes where the wording were 100% copy pasted. The one where duaghter describes her first girl/girl experience to the friend, then later to father? I am confident that was a literal copy/paste with just the name changed from friend to father.
• Image re-use of sex scenes. To many of the sex scenes looked exactly the same but with just slightly diff text. Not a huge issue as most sandbox type games do that a lot, but still annoying.
• floating girls. MANY sex scenes had girls hovering. Especially during animations. I feel like the artist was too busy trying to get poses and shit done that they forgot to look and say "Hrmmmm, is she even touching the bed?"

But the overall theme of the game was not horrible. With some fixes it could be much better.

My issue is that I feel the game gets too close to some NTR-like shit. Its like it is getting right up to the line without going over. This makes me scared that the dev might suddenly toss in actual NTR shit near the end of the game, so I likely will not play it again until it is completed so I can read comment and verify that did not happen. Which sucks, because I kinda want to like it.

Nice art and the story was enjoyable. The thing I liked most about this game is that unlike many games with the BDSM tag this was more about the power of the submissive and dominant relationships as opposed to just tying people up and inflicting pain.

Would have liked to see a bit more variety in the methods of controlling the subs as a dom but overall, everything fit well with the story progression.

Hope the interactions with the Wife character will increase and perhaps lead to an amount of expanding her corruption in future releases. As well as would enjoy the "harem" expanding. Or at the very least MC becoming the master to more girls.

All in all, looking forward to the next installment of this one.

A pretty solid BDSM/domination focused game. It has a quite interesting and involving story, coupled with a good amount of sexual content. Definitely worth your time.

Renders and animations aren't the best but still are pretty good. I would like to see some real NTR, but I do realise this is a somewhat controversial opinion.

Review based on v0.15:

Been following this game for awhile now and for the most part been enjoying it. Story is unique and have a few interesting things going for it but do a few transitions (jumps) that can throw you a little bit off, I mean you can sometimes go from the office to just suddenly be with the daughter in the store. Totally fixable though and does not happen that much eitherway. English is however really good and I found very few spelling mistakes while playing. Models look really good and all of them look unique to each other, the sex scenes do so too and are plentiful but not so much so that you grow tired. The choices also play a good part and seem to matter sometimes in different flavors of dialogue and other times might change paths for different characters. Some choices can lead to bad ends but they seem quite obvious.

Main gripe I have with the game that can for some people (me included) break the whole "Higher society" theme a bit, is that anytime a woman is talked about being with another man they either gloss over it or make some excuse for it to not be something sexual. I enjoy NTR (swinging, prostitution...) so its kind of sad that a theme like this "Higher society" which resolves around this whole master and slave dynamic opts to just ignore showing any of it, they might talk about it and have some choices for the MC in it but you never see the results But I still enjoy the game either way.

This is also a game that has gotten better as it develops, and I recommend players to at least get to after the filming is over, that is where I think the game actually starts to show some real promise.

I really enjoyed the amount of content, the focussed main storyline with the branching optional routes and the render quality as well as the characters' designs. The writing is solid, but could be improved upon imo by adding more characteristic variety in accordance to different personality types.
Definitely looking forward to future updates and confident it won't disappoint considering the amount of hard work put into this. Thank you very much.
