OK! Listen up! This is the most average thing, I have ever saw in my life. The reviews that talk about it, don't mention anything exciting or appealing, it's all "papers please" this and that. So how did we come to this? Man, I don't wanna be this guy, but here it goes:
What in the actual freak happened? Is it some sort of collective psychological phenomenon? The most powerful Herd effect, ever seen in videogames? Everyone reviewed this during Happy hour? I have no idea.
Anyway... Sass gets you nowhere in this world, so:
The good:
- The protagonist is in a position of power, and can use it for sexual acts - I know, I know, but it's (very) hot, and based on the inherent desire to dominate (and be dominated). Credit where credit is due.
Neutral:
- Gameplay cycle - If you worked at a factory, with a machine in front of your face, for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, then you know how imperial gatekeeper feels like. It's not "Avant Garde", or "Meta", it's: "Get me the hell outta here", "I'm not gonna live forever", "Let me catch some sun, damn you". EXASPERATING.
The bad:
- Adult content - There's not a lot of it, and it's difficult to get the requirements right, on your own.
Did the whole "get naked, or you are not crossing the border!", got me going? Sure, and it counts for something. I'm still flabbergasted (no, I'm not, I just like that word. I'm not a native speaker, sounds funny), as to how, this is so high up the "food chain", when no one has any real praise for it.
This is a 5/10, and I would have had a much better time, watching pre-release videos, where people still believed "Starfield" was gonna be good... They crack me up (abusive relationships are not cool, and I'm not making fun of them. "He's not changing, sweetie!") Get the psychiatrists to investigate what went wrong here, this is not a good videogame, by any stretch of the imagination (damn it, what did I say about the sass Me?).
Extra - Do you know that movie "HER"? There's a scene where the guy plays a videogame, and he is just walking (it's a future setting). I shiver at the thought of trivial tasks becoming the norm on videogames. That's probably why, I'm so against this sort of gameplay.
