can't believe the dev came this far just to give up because they couldn't get on steam. The characters have magic powers, if loli's are the problem them make them more mature like you did in the last two updates and problem solved, we have already seen it's possible, then resubmit.

Not getting onto Steam was just the final straw. It wasn't even close to the only reason. Having to travel for a dozen hours both ways just to withdraw money, and then needing to do that every single month, is a huge ask for anyone. Do you travel that far just to cash a paycheck? Additionally, he accrued the debt he described and learned that while he might have just gotten enough to pay off the debt, he didn't have enough for any of his own needs . . . so he goes into debt again.
If he's just treading water and never feels like he's getting anywhere, you're saying he should not get frustrated and spend some time to reconsider his plans and see how changing things might help him get a different outcome? He did say he'd still like to make adult games in the future. He's just stopping work on this. It also doesn't necessarily mean he will permanently stop work on this. All that is certain is that he's stepping away for now while he tries to figure out a way forward.
I'm absolutely not saying I know what the next steps for him should be. But I don't find it even remotely unreasonable that he try to figure things out when he's struggling like he describes.

I have certain criteria (That sometimes differs between games) that determines a "save". Penetration = save. A new save if the MC cum and goes for a second round with the same character. Scene must be unique (For repeatable scenes).
During a threesome, each time there is new penetration with a new character, it's a new save.
etc. etc. Not sure what criteria I used in this game, but I counted 4 saves for Kate.

To avoid text you need just 1 key. Not like you had to type down the entire bible. This is a pirate site, you didn't have to pay a dime to get the game, and if it was so bad... you could have just opened the game folder and watched the images instead of wasting your daily precious porn-watching time trying to catch the next sex scene.the characters and scenes are not bad..

I really enjoyed the story of The Intoxicating Flavor, but unfortunately, it isn't the type of crowd pleasing AVN that gets massive interest. Its not your typical high school harem story. I thought it was unique and interesting, and it's a shame the dev couldn't make it work for him, but his reasons for ending it are all very sensible. It's too bad that there isn't as much of a market for unique dialog heavy and complex stories in the AVN world. Plus, the fact that he has such difficulty getting his fairly small Patreon donations, just made it all not worth it.
We have all seen devs jerk around their fans, but Pixels Lab was not one of those, not by a mile. He produced steady lengthy updates far after it was profitable for him. I wish that this game could have seen more success.
All I can say PixelsLab, if you come by here someday, is you really have talent for a deep and well developed story, memorable characters, and I hope once things settle down for you in your life, and things get a little easier, you consider trying again for success. We need more devs that put their heart and soul into their stories like you did.

He is totally right. The scenes are too long: characters tell too many lines in a scene.
BUT this a problem that almost every F95 Patreon developed VN share (professional hentai VNs too).
You might think that these developers never went to theatre or read a play, or saw a movie.

I never said the VN was perfect. I never said there wasn't room for improvement. The fact that you point to plays and movies, however, might make one think that you never read a novel . . . you know, the second word in the name of this type of game. You're both 100% free to have and express your opinion about the game, of course. We just happen to disagree on this being a "problem".
The fact that society has gotten progressively more and more ADHD doesn't mean something like this is "bad". In fact, it speaks far more to a problem with society in general, which had much longer attention spans for literally thousands of years. But I definitely agree that something clearly needs to change for PixelsLab to draw in more subscribers. Otherwise he wouldn't have had the struggles with supporters that he's had. It's absolutely possible appeasing the plague of the 2-second focus could improve how his creations are received. That still isn't a verdict on the quality of this VN, however.

I don't know. I mean if you're looking for a game to turn on for 5 minutes to wank, you're in the wrong place. But yes, you still can wank to this, it's just more like story focused type of game. I also do believe there are games with too many dialogues or just too boring, but that wasn't the case with this one. It was consfusing at first, yes, beacuse dev decided to unfold the story in kinda weird way, but definitelly not boring.

I gave up on this ages ago because if I wanted to read a novel I'd grab a book and read something by a talented writer who can tell a compelling story not this boring slog. There's plenty of other games that can tell an interesting story and still have the other... "content". This should've been finished years ago and had it been he wouldn't have run into the problems with funding caused by his government.

Authors VN writers couldn't sniff the taint of in terms of writing talent. If they could they'd be published authors not trying to milk crowd funding chasing after our dirty fat ass dollar making a porn game.
