The game packed or unpacked is buggy, just as all the previous versions.
For me the image is in the folder in the archive (try redownloading the archive?), it's also just a plain black image.
If some reason you're unable to see the BG.jpg file in the archive let me know, I can re-upload it to see if that fixes it.
If this doesn't work, you can probably get away with just creating a 1280x960 black image in MSPaint.
(Make sure to rename the image appropriately with the correct file extension.)

Agree - self-extracting .exes are the bane of Mac conversion...iof it's RPGMV there is no reason to do that. If it's an older version of RPG we're screwed...

Looks great - can't wait for a Renpy remake of this so that it becomes playable.
i got level 2 confidence but it well not let me get ms brenda 3 quest she keep telling me she is busy.

That wont work because the files are inaccessible . And that only ONE of several files with a loading error that come after it. The entire scene of images doesn't load and all you can do is click retry for it just to fail.
