I know better than to try to ask you to take down our leaks, so instead I'll just butt in for a moment to say hi and second what Sin (Chillanimejoi) was saying before. The HJOI niche sure did change a lot in the past years and yeah, there's a ton of shit quality content out there because many people think this is an easy way to make money. Fortunately this doesn't work and nearly every creator that tries to just spam patreon-exclusive content doesn't even pass the $100 mark on their Patreons. Hopefully people will soon start to notice that it's just a waste of time and will stop ruining our little porn niche.
The other thing that Sin said is also true. It usually takes over a hundred hours just to make one mid-length vid. It also takes a lot of talent if they're voice acted too. It sucks that we're in a niche, since this means we don't make enough money to commission custom art for our vids, but I'd like to think that the artists benefit from the situation as well because we kind of serve as free advertisement for their work and we never use their patreon exclusive art for our projects.
Anyways, I hope that, if you like our leaked content, you'll still consider supporting us. We aren't monetized on Pornhub so the money we make from exclusive content is our only source of income that pays for our bills. If you can't support us and you're watching the leaked stuff because you can't afford to pay, no worries, I get that. I'm from a country where currency is kinda shit, so paying $10 for me is like paying $40 for people living in the west, so I could never really afford to pay for porn either lol.

I wasn't going to post again, I don't wanna turn this into a joicreator circlejerk, but this is pretty relevant.
I don't think you realise just how drastic the exclusive content income difference is.
I just released the Ahri video. Going by database views to like ratio and my own (perfect) tastes, it's incredibly good. It's also totally free. Zero exclusivity. In the intro I ask people to give me a reason to continue to make totally free stuff, supporting for just $2. I knew it wouldn't make close to exclusive amounts, but I was curious how many people would support just for well, support.
The answer is erm....5 people in the 2 days it's been out of early access. And that's assuming they are all supporting due to the Ahri video and not something else.
Then, you take a look at release day of exclusive content, the BB door video specifically.
Whew, that's quite a lot for one day right?
Well that's less than half of the new patrons for that day. I couldn't get it to fit on one image.
And the next day, same amount again. Everyday for the first week or so there's a large number of new patrons.
To put it simply, I could be about 2k richer right now if I just made the ahri video exclusive and said "Fuck you plebs". I want a new laptop and just changing one setting would have given me it.
I'm never going to be one of those who makes a lot of exclusive stuff, but I can say after this trial that I won't be releasing anything without some element of paywall going forwards...which isn't ideal as it directly impacts the creative side. I need to think about how to monetise it, while still being good for free viewers...instead of just making what I feel is best.

This thread has been really helpful so as "payment" I'm going to leave some of Hentirella's Patreon exclusive stuff that I have collected from various sources: bunkrr [dot] su/a/yScF2vwl . This is my first post so I apologize for the broken up address.
I would want nothing more than live in a world where what you said was true. Unfortunately, as Sin already pointed out, it isn't the case. Just like in all porn industry, we need to provide some significant extra value for our supporters or the amount of them would drop to such an insignificant number that we would no longer be able to sustain ourselves, the data from our analytics confirms it, as well as the experiments ran by other HJOI creators in the past. And no, you cannot do what we do as a hobby if you have another full-time job. At least not with the amount of content we make. We make over 2h of video content per month on average and it's a full-time job for two people. The script alone is so long that it often takes weeks to write and editing the video takes even longer. And that's not even mentioning the stuff like voice acting, community management, managing the website etc.
The simple truth is the same as with any other porn content (outside of h-gaming industry, this one has a lil bit different culture) - our stuff gets leaked too much, we go out of business, there is no more stuff because we need to find another way to make money to pay our bills. As much as I'd wanna live in the world where we could give away all of our content for free for the sake of people who can't afford the $10 being able to enjoy it, the truth is that it's a choice between that and having money to pay for food.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the leak that happened here is enough to put us out of business. I could barely google it, fortunately this thread is not doing amazingly when it comes to SEO. I'm talking about a scenario where the internet is full of our leaks to the point where almost everyone can find them.

As a long time lurker since this genre began this is going to be the downfall of Hentai Joi's, creators focusing on monetization.
I understand wanting to be paid for your work but you are in a niche within a niche. Few people pay for porn in general, EVEN fewer will pay for porn that's technically free. Another problem with monetization is that the ones paying ultimately get shafted by anti consumer practices like you know....restricted downloads...for the content you PAID for. Who knows what's next? pay per view? lol
Then there is the videos themselves. When you are under pressure to deliver a video due to the fact that it's your job video quality goes down. Not so much in editing but the passion,The fire. There is no innovation, No "Hey you know what would be cool? What if I tried this idea?"
Content is all homogeneous. I'm sure you also noticed the trend of creators doing the same girls in a similar time frame? popular girls like Marin, Ahri and Nami just to name a few. Why? It's the current trend of course! The profitable one.
I don't mind exclusive content or anything, but I will say as someone that has seen the vast majority of it through both legitimate and less legitimate means NO exclusive has ever been worth it. It is a nice bonus at best. I've only ever supported because I liked someones work. The only videos that were worth it were commissions (When they were cheaper anyway). Which most can't buy now because they are way too expensive. (Especially yours. Christ why are you so expensive?)
Look I get the money part I truly do but most people are cutting back on frivolous spending. I think you trying to turn this into a job is but a tragic dream. It should be a side hustle at best. I'm pretty sure most people who want to support you do so already. I can't imagine the number growing much bigger. Especially as times get rougher.

I'm not trying to turn this into a job. It was, still is, and it will continue to be my job so for as long as I can keep doing it, because I love making HJOI vids. I've been fapping to them long before I started creating my own. It's not a tragic dream but the reality I live in. I'm sorry you feel like making money out your passion somehow diminishes it. It might be true for some people, it was never true for me. And if you think that this somehow prevents me from experimenting on new ideas or making stuff just for the sake of making it then please check out our monster girl series. This series took me like x3 times to edit it because of all the gimmicks it had and it was one of the least popular ones our channel released. Does it mean I loved the series less than our other work and abandoned it? No. We continued expanding on it later, because it was fun.
In short, monetization was never my focus. Our (JOIGang's) exclusive videos exist because without them we would never be able to do this full-time. With us monetizing our content we can focus all our time on it. This is literally no different than any other sort of creative work and us being able to monetize it benefits both us and the viewers, because us being able to go full time means that we can produce more content with higher quality. You could say that during the 'golden age of HJOI's' all of the content was free, but that also meant less content being made. There was barely any voiced content either. Thanks to us going full-time on this, we make 1.5h+ of free content every month and only the small extra portion of it is paywalled for the sake of us being able to work full-time on making more. If it was a side hustle then we'd probably make no more than 30 min of content per month like other part time HJOI creators do, how would this be better for anyone?
Our commissions are expensive because we don't wanna focus on pumping out tons of shitty content just for the sake of making extra commission money, we'd rather have time to focus on one project longer to make it with extra passion. We still make less than $10/h on commissions after splitting the money between me and Bunny, so I think the price is fair.
And no, we don't plan on making pay per view content, that would be ridiculous.
Anyways, I'm not here to convince anyone to stop watching our leaks. I get that many people don't have enough money to be able to afford spending any of it on porn and if that's the case then I think it's perfectly okay for those people to look for leaks instead, since it's not like us creators are losing anything in such a case. The reason why I replied is because it seemed like I was accused of having no passion for my work, which considering I've put thousands of hours into making those videos I kinda take issue with that.
