He did try to show her his love. He did self-reflect and try to make her feel good. But well, Mary already got the taste of a bigger dick and experience from an old bastard. Which also then influenced Satoshi to also cheat (well in this case open-relationship)
Kendo and Arato just wants to fuck her and use her as an object by mind manipulation acting like good or trying to drug her (arato), i'd not call that making her valued. They mainly use her as a toilet, they both fucking other girls and playing with words. Satoshi needs to get revenge for trusting his oncle lusting for his girlfriend, the pink girl trying to manipulate Satoshi to get him and let her boyfriend fuck Mary and all that shit.

I feel like pink girl is just going to make Satoshi open up into NTS. I got that feeling at the start of Arato's route where they began sharing their partners - I get a sense that part of what she gets off to is submission, just like how her and uncle were supposedly alike. She gets off to Satoshi's submission to her, just like uncle gets off to Mary's submission to him.

Getting Satoshi to be vulnerable with her and open up to his wants and desires - his total honesty - plays a part in that fantasy fulfillment for her. She get's to corrupt him into being her and her partners play thing, getting dominated on the one hand and doing the dominating on the other. She get's to live the best of both worlds like a true switch.

There was a moment in that sharing scene where Satoshi wanted to stop what was happening because Mary said to stop, but pink girl asked him if that's what he really wanted. She then asks him if he was enjoying what he was seeing - essentially asking him if he liked watching his girl get fucked by another guy - saying that he got harder whilst watching them, and she was constantly manipulating him into letting them carry on.

She did some pretty standard manipulator tactics as well, such as saying that they could all stop if he wanted to, putting the onus to spoil the fun on Satoshi whilst giving him a false sense of agency. Satoshi could stop, but then pink and he could never see again. All of this is subtext to the scene, pink girl is heavily pushing for Satoshi to allow Arato's corruption and overstepping of bounds to be allowed, and for Satoshi to meekly accept their decisions. This is all of course whilst Satoshi and Mary are under the influence of some sort of mind altering substance, being coerced into something he probably wouldn't have consented to under normal circumstances.

Maybe it is true that Satoshi does have these NTS fantasies deep down, and maybe if he just gave into pink girl and Arato then he'd be happier for it, or maybe those mind altering affects and the heat of the moment caused a simple lapse in judgement. A mistake, just a one off. The only other time I can recall where Satoshi even considers NTS is when he and Mary happen upon the NTS couple at the hot springs and Satoshi briefly considers what it would be like to share Mary. I forget his conclusion, but the story hasn't touched on it until Arato. Maybe you could argue the Satoshi dream scene where he barges in on uncle and Mary doing it and has a panic attack to be manifesting NTS desires?

Either way; I feel like the dev is pushing for NTS in the Arato route, and the buildup for that has a bit of work to go for the foundations to be set. Satoshi just jumping straight into openly cucking himself given his prior fears and convictions wouldn't make a whole lot of sense right away. He still lies to himself out of these same fears and convictions; we saw it in the latest scene where Satoshi deep down inside knows Mary is blowing Arato behind that casino table - but does nothing about it, and pretends not to notice when everyone, pink girl included, knows that Satoshi knows what's really happening. She wants him to be honest with himself, remember? I feel like all these themes are lining up for a NTS route in arato's route.

But again, this is all just major head cannon / conjecture.

I mean, so what Forbidding somebody to talk to another person because of your cowardice and fear that something may or may not happen? Then Satoshi should cage Mary and stop her from talking to any men at all?

1) Everybidy would find that cowardly and strange like "pls dont talk to dis guy he will fq you" the hell like Mary is some piece of meat waiting to be fucked at first opportunity
2) This entire whinging wouldnt be happening if Satoshi wasn't only about Satoshi. Obviously Mary was in toxic relationship with Satoshi where he wanted to control her but Kendo released her from it.
3) In general this kind of behavior you describe is exactly why Mary made right decision to leave that coward Satoshi. It's the symptom not the root of the larger problem in their relationship. Cucking well deserved! If I had some small pp bastard whinging to me constantly on the side about not talking to somebody I'd be real annoyed truly.

Also in 2nd half it was even said by Mary directly(she thought it in her head, I think during one of the conquest scenes or build up to those scenes) you can go replay if you wish that if Satoshi acted that cool and normal in the very beginning then she may have not ever considered cheating on him. The kind of behavior you describe is one of the main reasons she ended up swayed.

Ergo the only revenge Satoshi deserves is the one he will be getting from Mary. How dare he try and control her! Kendo truly is just an innocent bystander in this conflict. Him having very long schlong and being interested in Mary is circumstancial evidence.

On the topic of the "happy ending" part of the description not being there anymore, it isn't that I'm not aiming for one, but people's reactions to the idea of a happy ending were starting to get a little... weird. If not outright hostile for some reason.

Yeah I can see that. The problem is that a "happy" end is super subjective. So I think its removal from the description makes sense. Happy for whom? does Satoshi just become okay with a swinging lifestyle or a cuck lifestyle? does he move on and find a love interest who isn't like that? Maybe a "silent war" situation where Satoshi gets his shit together and takes Mary back exclusively after getting revenge? is Satoshi removed from the picture entirely leaving mary happy to be a toy for kendo/arato? Happy end for some? for all? I've never seen a NTR game pull off what could be considered happy by my standards which is an emotionally healthy and respectful relationship (you know the basic foundation for happiness) for both parties even if it includes swinging or cucking so I am curious where this ends up.

Literally at the start of the game they've only been together for like 3 months I think, they never got to develop without Kendo messing in their relationship
