Related to game ideas that I would find interesting to create if I was a developer I will introduce just one of them to not make it too long lol:

a) Prison commander: You are a young general that had dreams of protecting his country and defeating the current enemies of the kingdom, however to your surprise you weren't designated to the battlefield but rather got a strange job as "prison commander", following your orders you arrived at the designated prison and finally learnt what your job is about, the current prison is under a heavy riot in which criminals have taken almost all the prison, fortunately the prisoners disputes have prevented them to unite against the guards last line of defense.
This is pretty much Karryn's Prison.

I admit I didn't read most posts here but I did read the OP.

I don't remember who it was but some famous film maker (Scorsese?) once said: "A kids movie that can only be enjoyed by kids isn't a good movie."
I think this can somewhat be translated to porn games. A porn game that doesn't work without the porn isn't a good game. A good porn game can be enjoyed even if you would remove or skip all the porn stuff. Those games exist, but they are very rare. At the moment I could say that about 2 or 3 games at best.
There is no incentive for devs to achieve that.

Well if you only consider the initial setting it is similar, albeit it's kinda like how we have many stories of a hero against a demon king/some sort of evil but when you read it the focus, travels, characters and everything else is different from each other.

The setting is similar but it also has all but two of the characteristics you wanted:

-Simple strategy game with territory management, conquer and maintain as many parts of the prison as possible without incurring the full wrath of the prisoners
You manage prison policies, push and conquer new areas and if you piss off the prisoners too much, they reconquer parts of the prison.

-Romance prisoners and guards alike, however be careful about their intentions and don't trust them easily!.
There's quite a bit of "romancing" going on with both prisoners and guards

-Level up your character and increase your strength thanks to the fights against the prisoners.
Literally the main gameplay loop + the upgrades you can buy for yourself.

-The prisoners can capture the MC or other guards, save them before it's too late!.
Dunno about the guards but the prisoners capture the MC if she loses

-Will you be the dominant partner or the submissive one? establish a harem or be part of one? will you accomplish your mission and solve the riot or be overwhelmed by it?.
You can either crush the prisoners with your hammer or let yourself get defeated and "romanced"

I disagree, assuming we're not talking VN's and Books. The porn is integral to a porn game as combat is in a fighting game. If you remove all the porn and have the same experience, you've done something wrong.

Probably the reason why the forum present itself as a place where you'll find "adult games", and not "porn games".

Yet there's games where it's legit to complain about the sex content, like there's action movies where it's legit to complain about the violence. Not because of its present by itself, but because the way it's inserted in the story.

Imagine an action movie where the Hero punch everyone he met. He enter a bar to take a beer, he start a fight. He exit the bar to go back home, he cross some punks that he'll punch. He enter his building, he cross his drunk neighbor and punch him... And this is just the first two minutes of the movie.
This wouldn't be a movie, just a ridiculous pretext to picture a guy who punch people. And there's adult games that are like this, having a potentially interesting story but also sex behind every corner, totally unjustified and that come out of nowhere.
The Guardian (now rule7 banned) was like that. Not that the story was really interesting, but the MC couldn't see a girl without fucking her. One time he was in hurry to save the life of this sister, goes to say it to two girls, fucked each of them, and don't even said that he was leaving to save his sister's life. It was really ridiculous and, when the game was still available, many reviews contained something along the line of "the sex is so annoyingly invading the story that I skip it most of the time".

Not that you can't have purely fappable games, but the cost of game making is lower than the cost of movie making, so be a bit more creative and don't put sex for the sole purpose to put sex.
that's exactly what I mean, games with great potential but are superficial. take as an example: SpaceCorps XXX, Peasant's Quest, Succubus Covenant... etc

the games in which I mentioned is more than a porn game (or rather, an adult game) it has a story, it has a script, it has depth, it is rich in details. they try to expand more, they try to hook the player with that universe and story, a connection with the characters present and the settings.

You clearly never played one of those games. Dohna Dohna is one perfect example, I actually started skipping the porn scenes after some time because they didn't add anything to the story or the characters. The game even has a setting to automatically skip all porn scenes in the game options menu.
The thing that's integral to any game is the gameplay, of course that's fighting in a fighting game, but you rarely really play the porn part in porn games. You usually just watch a scene play out in form of a video or some pics. Even the games from Illusion don't really have porn gameplay, all you do is start the scene and maybe change positions. Here it's at least not just some pics or a vid because it happens in real time and you can decide a few things.

In truth what you are saying is almost nothing alike, let me give an example, what Im talking about is a strategy RPG with a focus on territory management, if you played for example daibanchou big bang age the combat there and the territory would be more in line with the concept I shared, contrary to the RPG with combat rape that offers karryn prison.

If we go to the most basic sense we can say that in both games you have RPG elements and territory management but when you play each game you will get totally different experiences, mainly because the combat and territory the way it works is nothing alike.

But thats about it, overall its just a concept that unfortunately wont develop haha, just shared it for fun cause of the OP

Check the reviews on games with lower sexual content and you might see an indication as to why some western h-devs might be afraid of going down that route.
Examples? I've never seen any review bombs purely because the player couldn't get off.

Don't have concrete examples right out of my hat, but it's kind of known that a lot of players start complaining about games "blue-balling" them when the sexual content is low.

Subverse. I don't know about the reviews on Steam but here on this forum there are many angry little kids people who complain that 99% of the porn is disconnected from the actual game. For me Subverse is one of the examples of a good game that works perfectly even when you remove all the porn.
In case you never played Subverse: Except for the recruitment scenes all other porn scenes are in the Pandora system, where you spend points to unlock and watch them.

Subverse porn is trash. Not only it's disconnected from the story, it's just a pile of short looped animations without any coherence. That's not about getting off, it's just a shitty work.
Yeah, too often do people think slapping tits on an otherwise bog standard work suddenly makes it a good porn game. Barely anything on this site can even really be called a game anyway. There is skill in making something erotic. If I intend to put my dick in my hand, the whole experience ought to encourage that. Constant repeated downtime where I have to scrounge for hopefully one satisfying scene is annoying as hell.

There's quite a few of them (I hope Love of Magic is one of them), but there's definitely a jump between porn games and games with porn in them. The later could in theory survive a visit to the vet to remove the R18 content, though in my case it would need quite intensive surgery afterwards, since quite a lot of story development happens in R18 sequences (best place to hide foreshadowing is when they're looking at a pretty naked girl).

Making a game is very hard, I don't think most people give up on their project because of the money, they are not professional game dev, it's just a hobby.

They are just people trying to do something fun and sharing it with others.

The reason because 90% of the games here are copy is because people try to emulate the game they liked, you need to begin somewhere. If they liked the process they are going to improve and make better game.

And to be honest a lot of normal video game story, created by professional are boring and simple.

It's really hard to create something good.

Personally if I had the skills and drive to be able to make my own game. I would make a cyberpunk game. But I can't code worth shit, my writing is so so and I don't have the time to do everything a game needs done by myself.
