Hi everyone,
Sorry for not giving any updates, that’s not nice, but rest assured I’m alive and still 100% focused on the game, 7 days a week, at least 12 hours a day.
Even though I’m currently dealing with thyroid problems that make me tired, I’m holding on.
Game news
In the next few days I’ll try to submit the demo to Steam, and if it’s accepted the game should be playable in October.
You probably also know that Steam has tightened its rules, so it’s not certain that I’ll be able to add the game there, even though I hope so with all my heart.
Especially since apparently early access seems to be no longer allowed for AVNs, which changes everything. You won’t see games priced around $15 that evolve over the years anymore.
Most likely, AVN games will be sold cheaper at first, but most devs will sell updates separately either one update = one new game, or as DLC.
I decided to add a last-minute scene, it’s a shower scene and might involve one character you know well.
As you can see, the animation takes a long time to render. For 16 frames, 12 hours have already passed, and there are 96 in total (and 4 animations in total or 5 if I have time to make them).
The render is very slow because there’s water on the character’s skin, which increases the render time a lot.
Do you recognize her? I think Lyzech does!
Interface
UncleNanard has been working hard on the game’s interface, and I just saw the choice menu (the menu that appears when you have to make a decision in the game).
He spent a week on it, and I think it’s fantastic.
The interface has evolved a lot compared to the version you’re familiar with.
Real life
Things are still just as tough. I haven’t started looking for a job yet, which means that in a month I’ll have a one-year gap on my résumé.
Since I work in a pretty competitive field, I don’t see how I’ll be able to justify it or bounce back… I’ll probably have to switch careers if I go back to working.
As you may also know, Itch.io decided to demonetize and dereference adult games. Only free games are visible now, which obviously doesn’t bring in any income.
Times are hard, I’m only living on Subscribestar and unemployment benefits. And I’m getting around $293 from Subscribestar...
(from which I still have to deduct taxes, Subscribestar’s share, the payment processor fees, and the currency conversion fees )
On top of that, my dog was sick and I had to spend $600 at the vet. Fortunately, I was able to pay in installments. The bad news is that now he has a medication that costs $65 a month…
(By the way, if anyone here is a veterinarian, I’d have lots of questions for you haha)
Thank you ❤
All this to say: thank you for being here, because without you things would be even harder.
PS
I need to make another post in the next few days because a 3D plugin just came out and it’s a real REVOLUTION.
I have to explain it to you, it’s incredible.
