A philosopher's porn game. Lots of thinking and multiple layers. Gotta plan out the future and weigh the consequences for the present. Lots of sex with really fleshed out characters. Sometimes the sex seems to get in the way actually, I often want the next step in the character arc rather than the next porn scene. Good dev to watch for later. This game actually is what made me decide I liked porn games in the first place.

Peak of the Peak. 100/100. This is one of the games that takes you on a different path to enlightenment. The actions and choices you make matter in the chapters to come. Do something wrong and you will be punished. One of the Eroges that will overwhelm your yearning to fap with philosophies. Each character is amazing and well-written. They're made with love, and the bond you connect with them is sincere and natural. The story is PEAK, but it's a lot to take in as it will start small and goes on bigger and bigger until it's a size of a Kamekameha Ball . Be aware that it will EAT a lot of your time if you decide to finish it in one go, so think carefully before starting. Beyond that, you'll enjoy it.

If you want a game that will take you down into a path of philosophy, enlightenment, and politics. This is your game.

Note: There are times you'll suffer, but it's not The Last Sovereign without having fun suffering. Take it form me.

This game is WORTH reviewing and I hope many others will enjoy it. The story,the character and even the dialogoue are Well Written. You are gonna be hooked with the story.

Gameplay : While it is a RPGM turn based,it's not boring since it is finite, non-respawnable enemy,and provide challange for the player.

Choices : Well,I admit the game put you through lot of choices,but using guide will help you achieve the min-maxing aspect of the game, of course you could choose whatever you want, but not the best outcome for your run.

The Adult part is mostly illustrated in 80.6 version,some leave you with text and your imagination. there is erotic character sprite animation which is lovely.

Overall,this game is highly recommended.

The Last Sovereign is a pretty good game, it has a lot of content, it manages to not fall into the worst tropes you could have with such a game and it delivers a lot of content, while not having the same problems that other long games have and being stretched super thin in terms of sex scenes. There are plenty.

The gameplay itself is standard RPGM stuff, if you can't stand it, its not for you, if you can, it's pretty good, its not just "number go up", but does use the system it has, making use of different compositions, tactics, etc.

Ironically, I think the sex scenes are the weakest part about the game itself. The describing text is more varied and detailed, the illustrations are serviceable, the amount if pretty good, but I feel like they leave a lot on the table in terms of variety of encounters. It gives you the power to basically seduce everyone, have an MC that doesn't want to do that, but women throw themselves at him regardless. They have to repeat constantly how addicted they are to him and even the succubi have to repeat how they can only have eyes for him alone over and over again. It kinda feels cringe in a "deeply insecure" way in which it must be made perfectly clear that the hero can have anyone they want, but everyone they want will only ever have eyes for them. (Except if its a lesbian encounter, of course) You have some content that crosses that line, but on the whole, it feels pretty tame in that regard. You end up with multiple succubi in your party which all largely refuses to be any different than any of the other characters in your harem. Leaving a lot on the table.

In terms of variety, I'd say that there are also some deficits. A world with endless possibilities end you end up with countless women that have a similar body type, interchangeable scenes and little variety.

But that doesn't mean I didn't like the game, far from it. If you're in the mood for a long RPGM game that isn't sparse with its sex content, this one is a very good bet.

The game it self is amazing, the porn part is actually the less enjoyable part kkkk. I fapped like 2 to 3 times, but been playing it no stop. The story, the choices, the characters personalities and visuals, all amazing. I usually tend to like games with more ecchi scenes, and more fetish's, but this game hooked me with the actual gameplay.

I would like it better, personaly, if there were more perverted stuff, all sex is very vanilla. But i guess that's how the dev likes it, and who am i to kink shame vanilla sex.

Can you have too much of a good thing? The Last Sovereign says yes. This game is very good: the premise is fresh, the storyline is intruiging, the characters are decently developed, and the self-aware humor lands pretty well. It even explores some interesting philosophical themes, although sometimes the dialogue here gets a little too focused on fancy vocabulary rather than the themes themselves. All things that would make TLS a strong "regular" game and a standout in the adult game genre.

The main issue I have with TLS is it's too long. The pros get diluted and the cons get more prominent over a long playthrough (mine took about 120 hours seeing all content, but skipping random villager dialogue and such). For example, I felt like the story was reaching toward a climax, but the guide I was following showed I was only about 2/3 through the game. The last third really dragged with a lot of quests requiring you to visit 20+ locations and in each one click through some simple dialogue or fight through some drawn-out, mediocre combats. Aside from items, the main reward for these quests was essentially relationship points for the endgame and occasional minor character development. In a vacuum, this is fine, but it came at the cost of breaking story momentum when it should have been at its peak.

From what I've read, TLS has a lot of variability in choice and consequence, something that can really elevate a game over its peers and takes a lot of work on the developer's behalf. Sierra Lee deserves praise here, with my main criticism being that a lot of the choices are not well informed. Sometimes your party members will add their input and sometimes there are clues in the dialogue with other characters, but mostly you will be choosing blindly unless you're following a guide.

When it comes to guides, if you're like me and you generally only play games once and want to see as much content as possible in that single playthrough, then a detailed walkthrough is practically mandatory for TLS. There's a lot of missable content and aforementioned blind choices. If you like to replay games, then I would recommend a blind playthrough first so the choice and consequence can shine more.

TL;DR The Last Sovereign is an 8/10 game as is and would be a 10/10 if it was about 20-30% shorter and more tightly focused.

This is one of, if not the best game I have played on this site. The gameplay is simple yet satisfying when you get some OP characters.

While I personally didn't mind having the wiki open while playing, I can understand how that can be a turn off for some people, as there are a lot of convoluted choices with consequences that sometimes don't show up until the end of the game.

The character designs are hot, and their personalities are mostly great, albeit some are a bit dis-interesting after a while.

My only complaint about the game was that I started to get a bit fatigued with quests towards the end of the game, but that just goes to show how much content is in it, and it wasn't enough to diminish the experience in anyway.

10/10 would recommend.

If there was no porn in it this it would be regarded as one of the top rpg games of all time. Honestly, I just started skipping scenes because I was so invested in the story and maximizing my investments lol.

One of my favorite games I've ever played, NSFW or otherwise. Honestly, the smut isn't especially my cup of tea for the most part, with some exceptions, but the quality of the writing, characters, setting, and story are all top tier, with the game mechanics and setting really taking RPGM to it's upper limits. This game that is finally polishing up it's complete release has been over a decade in the making, a labor of love, and really makes for something special. The creator has it free on steam also, never wanted to charge anyone to play the game they made, just happy to get their support on patreon and through their other smaller works and books (they're a pretty prolific published author). If you're just looking for quick smut, you've got plenty of other options. If you're just looking for good porn and good writing, the best rated VN are a dime a dozen. If you're looking for an excellent GAME built in RPGM I don't think you can do any better than this. My final play through was over a hundred hours and I know I spent dozen of hours more with spread sheets figuring out my own optimal investment strategy that had me starting a fresh game to make different choices in each of the acts about where I was going to put my capital.

The story is a marvel, the dialogues are fantastic. A masterpiece, and that’s it nothing more to add.


Sadly, the sex scenes are just an image with text and nothing more, and for an H game that’s a stab in the back.

Fortunately, we live in the future, and image and video generation are reaching a point that borders on the incredible. If at some point they did a rework adding animations and updating the engine, we’d be talking about the top 1 RPGM.

Around 70+ hours on your first playthrough if you aim to do everything with minimal guides (Just checking if you got everything)

This is a huge game with at least 1000 variables that change depending on what you do. Resulting in many many different changes in the future. An example would be investing in something the first couple hours and that investment having a major impact around the 20 hour mark. There are so, so many things that the game records and uses later, which is insanely detailed.

Pros:

• Choices matter
• Mature: The MC isn't immature and his view on life will have to be challenged first for the sexiness
• Well balanced: This game is exceptional at making fights just "right". If you like challenging RPG maker fights you'll love this game.
• All the characters have personality and are vastly different, even when they join the Harem. It's always a healthy relationship

Cons

• The H scenes: The late game scenes don't have any art. All of them are covered by text and they're simple art. Not AI which will always be a positive. About 30 or 40% of scenes don't have art, which yeah, that's a lot.
• Choices matter: Because everything is tracked by the game, it is very hard to cheat if you find out you missed something. Missing any of the incubus items and not getting the last harem member. I ultimately had to use someone else's save because I missed something 30 hours before
• The fights: ALL of the fights are well balanced...I was fatigued from playing 70+ hours of fights that I had to strategize for. (You can just edit your stats but you could face consequences if you win something you weren't supposed to)
• Anti cheat: I have nothing against cheating on single player games so I have no idea why the punishment for doing so is so harsh.

There are just so many things that this game keeps track of to make your playthrough truly 'yours'. The "wars" are just so entertaining. The politics and business deals you can make throughout the game are so good. The final battle using literally every single decision you made throughout the game.

A great game

Skipped all the sex scenes because the game's that good. Insanely good story better than almost any novel. Like 1 typo in 5 million words. Best game ever just play it it's the best you'll love it it's amazing

The best written game with porn you will play.

• Excellently written sex scenes. The art suplements the text and not the other way around.
• Well crafted unique fantasy world that rivals Tolkien's.
• Well developed characters you get attached to/angry at during the many hours of gameplay.
• Excellent use of RPGM's combat system with challenging "optional" encounters that provide you with advantages that impact the story.
• Characters having sex actually makes sense, which is a very rare thing these days
• Storywriting that makes you climax with your mind(and I am barely exaggerating)
• Complex story events with many variables that you can influence to reach different outcomes, ultimately shaping the world around you.

This is not a porn game you play to just stroke your dick/clit to. This is a game that you experience fully and then feel empty when you are done, because you know it will be hard to fill the hole TLS will leave when you finish it.

And the remedy will be to play it again.

Awesome game. I thought the turn based combat is well thought out. The political bits are nice, though it did get tedious for me by end game. So were the puzzles, I stopped thinking halfway in and just used the walkthru. A lot of missing arts for the later part of the game. Character arts are also not consistent. Here's hoping for a remake in the future.

Sex is nice and all, but I've never been harder than when I got those huge returns on my investments later into the game.

The rpg gameplay is honestly not that interesting to me after the initial stages. The characters and the story are the real gems. Decisions feel meaningful and have long lasting consequences. You get a real experience of a well meaning dark sovereign taking over the world through economy and politics. I can't overstress how nice it is to have a mature main character who has relatively healthy stances on sex and relationships in a harem porn game.

If you're looking for a very long role-playing game with insane amount of variables, decisions, hidden content, amazingly written captivating story and insane amount of characters most of which undergo some form of character development, then this is the game for you. This game has far more intriguing and complex story than most if not all (I'd say all) RPGs I've ever played and I've played a lot of role-playing games throughout my life (JRPGs, western RPGs, slightly different RPGs made by nordic and slavic people etc). The only series that maybe trumps this game is Trails Series, and that's because there are tons of long interconnected games there and even those games don't have the same detailed political and economic aspects intertwined with the story. The AAA slop garbage nowadays doesn't hold a candle to this masterpiece.

If you're looking for a "porn" game, like many others on this site, then this isn't for you. It has scenes, but they're very simple with one or two average CGs accompanied by descriptive text of what's happening. You could turn the CGs off and it wouldn't make a difference for me personally.

If you're into role-playing games for the role-playing part, then definitely try this out. Keep in mind that this game is very long, so you're in it for a while. I recommend keeping the Thosha's walkthrough at hand if you're a perfectionist and don't want to miss anything, just as a precaution of sorts (it's pretty easy to miss some small event only to get locked out of additional content and NPCs).

After beating MGQP, Black Souls 1 and 2 and Demon Roots and Kings Exit. I was looking another story driven JRPG and I found the last sovereign.

TLS is One of the greatest JRPG story driven games I have ever played.

If you love the story of Tactics Ogre and Final Fnatasy Tactics you will definitely love this one.

There are a lot of JRPG with multimillion dollar budget that doesn't even hold a candle to TLS in terms of story.

This is a must play game if you are a JRPG fan looking for a story driven game that has a great and mature story.

This is one of those rare cases where EVERY SINGLE REVIEW IS CORRECT. Seriously. Nobody is saying anything wrong.

Their review, and your enjoyment of this game, depends entirely on what you're looking for. I would never shop at a vegan-only grocery store and then complain about how awful the food tastes, but maybe some people thought about giving vegan food a try and then they hated it.

The story IS VERY GOOD and it makes the experience enjoyable. And I even like the gameplay, because I'm an old school SMT fan and a debuff based combat system gets my dick hard. Which is the only thing migrating blood down there: the porn IS THAT BAD. It might as well not exist.

So I enjoy it. But here's my advice. Read the reviews and decide if this game is for you or not. You'll be correct.

edit: After reading a review on steam I want to clarify something.
The first few scenes are drawn in crayon. This is intentional and it sets up a twist within an hour or so. However "drawn in crayon" is about how good the quality is of those first few scenes. I felt my review was a little misleading because the scenes DO get better. It's just that hearing about how bad they are and seeing one drawn in crayon might give you a very wrong impression.

But eventually, you hit a point in the game where you're more aroused by the characters than the smut. Which is to say: about 20 hours in, you'll get scenes with DOUBLE the cgs but you'll like the characters a lot which MIGHT fill the gaps.

But personally I've literally had nights where I said "man, I'm really too tired to keep following the story of this porn game. I'm going to close it, jack off to something then go to bed" without any sense of irony. Which is me telling you "I've enjoyed this game enough to lose sleep over it" and "I don't really think it's porn".

Sierra Lee could save Bioware. I hope she never has to.

I have no idea why this game's rating is so high. It's a typical RPGM game where you walk around, fight stuff in mind-numbingly boring turn based combat, read dialogue, and collect CGs.
CGs are very poor quality, like they're drawn by a 12 year old, no interaction at all, just a picture and a wall of text.
Characters are kind of cringey, and honestly not very interesting. Even the main character I just couldn't find myself giving a crap about him.
Humor is attempted in the writing but misses.
Constant allusions to other information that our main character knows as an excuse for lore dumping.
The role playing part of the RPG is missing, you seem to sort of be on rails.
Writing is uninspired and after a few minutes I just found myself holding down the ctrl key to skip.
Combat system is about as basic as you can get for RPGM, there's not even combos or skill rotation to manage, just spam the highest damage move until your MP runs out.
Maybe the lore is decent...? Like there's a large map of different countries so there's potential down the road, but that's nowhere enough to keep interest until then.
Overall there's just nothing redeeming about it, I lasted for about half an hour before giving up on this. I'd expect something like this to have a rating between 2-3 stars and that's being generous, not 4.5.
