I feel you man, I like some pretty "crappy" games and movies (Drone tactics, Overlord 1/2, Bioshock 2, Star Wars Prequels to name a few). After I finally accepted that player 2's opinion does not matter in a single player game, thing got alot more fun.

Man, the writing in Baldurs Gate 3 pisses me off for how ass it is. Like, how the fuck do modern writer rooms fumble almost everything so damn badly lmao. So insane how all these small independent porn game projects literally have less jarring and more immersive writing/dialogue than a lot of big industry shit now. They really just hiring some retards bro. Like I imagine this is probably easier to write than an entire original character since the characters are already there for you and you have a lot to draw on, but still. Well some cringe would be removed if anybody bothered to ask the player's sexual preferences and respect that however so no choice is off the table they write the MC as being up for anything including gay sex with a bear. Gale tried too hard to show me magic tricks so he got cast to the background and on subsiqent playthroughs left him in the portal. Astarion wanted to suck everything and I don't want men waking me up in the middle of the night for that. Halsin turns into a bear because bestiality. Didn't really care about Minsc as he just seemed like the dumb guy with the pet hampster.
