My opinion about ronnie, and don't take this the wrong way, is that I like her as a character, I think she's cute and I enjoyed the backstory, I'll certainly keep going for her, but man the big bisexual reveal thing just felt bad to me. I've never watched the show(/s) the game is based off of, and I don't know almost anything about the canon personalities of the characters, but I guess from looking at comments, ronnie has a canon relationship with sid, or is at least alluded to having one, that's fine I have no issues with her sexuality, the main issue I felt is that to a total outsider of the fandom who has never interacted with it outside of maybe finding a clip here or there, or some porn somewhere, is that the game portrays Ronnie as the MC's first and original love interest (again, no idea if that's canon to the show or not, but the game portrays it as such) and then when we finally get a chance to make her officially our girlfriend, we find out that she is seemingly already in a sexual relationship with a girl she has presumably only met within the twoish weeks that she has been in her new city, despite having a thing for the MC for at least a (school)year, she is seemingly fine with just starting a relationship with this girl she just met, and that if we want ronnie, she comes as a package deal with this woman.
Now I can excuse the timeline of events, sometimes for a game things need to be condensed down so that the game feels good to play, but it felt really really not good to me to finally, after two whole chapters, be able to get with the OG love interest of a romance that has been slow burning for a year before the story takes place, just to learn that she's already got herself a girlfriend in the two weeks she was away from us, and that the girlfriend is an integral part of her story with us. The reveal was teased well enough that I had guessed that Ronnie was into women pretty early on, and that she was probably into Sid, what I hadn't assumed, however, was that she would have a relationship with Sid by the time we were finally able to officially have her as a girlfriend. I'm not opposed to Sid, she's cute, I like her personality, Even though I don't like that she's in a relationship with an LI while we are also in a relationship with the LI I'm not going to write her off, it just feels, I don't know man. Not satisfying. I keep repeating myself, but this is THE LI in the game and after two chapters, our first real sex scene with her has to be shared with a side character we have only ever seen via webcam until the day the scene happens, and she tells us that Sid will be joining every scene too, paired with the fact that she was (Presumably) dating Ronnie before the MC(Again, I repeat myself, but its the main reason I feel so bad about this, this is after the MC had a year's worth of slow burn romance with Ronnie, finally confessed to her and learned she also liked the MC for basically as long as he had liked her, before she had to move away, and then a few weeks later when he is finally able to visit Ronnie in her new town, Ronnie magically has a girlfriend in a girl she only met within those two weeks), it makes me feel like I'm competing against Sid a bit.
That's just my sleep deprived two cents though, who knows maybe I'll replay the scene tomorrow when I'm in a better state of mind and not feel as bad about it.
It would have felt better to me if we had gotten at least one good solo scene with ronnie as girlfriend and boyfriend before she officially got with Sid, or even if it went something like "Hey MC, I'm into girls too and I started a thing with a girl here and I want us all to have sex, but I also want us to have sex at least once without her, you know, cause this is a really sudden thing."
Reading further down into the thread, the game probably just isn't for me, its a shame cause whoever does the art is a hell of an artist, and the story is genuinely good, I just don't like having to choose between girls, (Even though I wasn't planning on pursuing the eldest sister cause I think her relationship with Bobby is too pure and cute and I don't want to harm that I'd feel awful, and I am absolutely the kind of person to aggressively go after every single girl in a harem game no matter if I actually like them or not, so that's a pretty big complement to the writer that he's caused a freak like me to fight my standard plans for a harem game because the relationship between a main love interest and her boyfriend was too cute to destroy) and the more I get into the Ronnie and Sid storyline, the worse it makes me feel. But hey, maybe I will pay more attention to loud house fanfics that I otherwise would have passed by before reading up to chapter 3 of this (it was jaw dropping to learn that the largest single piece of media ever devised is a loud house fanfiction) cause I do genuinely like Ronnie and the MC's relationship. Is the whole double date thing canon to the actual story cause if it is thats a pretty cool romance origin story.
Good luck with the game, you really have something special here, even if its not really my thing.
