If I remember it right it never was a harem game to begin with, maybe partial at max, but not full, but haremers kept whining - "we want harem, we want harem" - just read first 10-15 pages lol, so I guess Dev just gave up
And now it's actually funny that you're calling it a "harem game" and telling to fuck off people who started playing this game as non harem.
Well, harem personally for me would be the last option here, my main one - only twins.

I have saves for harem and for each girl (well girls in the case of the twins.) Of course you can still bang the girl from the FDA and Heather (at least) on any path.

Totally true. Was originally going to be 3 monogamous routes (this was pre-Brooke). I was such a newbie dev that I didn't even know harem was a thing. I had to look into it, and I thought that would be very cool, because I would have a hard time picking just one myself.
Funny thing is now I almost wish I had made it harem-only! It's so much work having 5 different routes. For example, I'm currently working on a sex scene with your chosen LI in chapter 8, so that means 5 different scenes. And of course all the differing dialogue that is needed. But I did this to myself (you idiot!!). Oh well, it's fun and I appreciate those that are in love with Emily, let's say, and they just want her. That makes me super happy.

From my understanding the Li already got changed due to backlash over sleeping with multiple guys already before getting with the Mc so adding that content would just create more backlash in someway and no one wants that.

Yeah, it's funny... Heather was supposed to have a small role and then be gone. But I think I made her too hot, lol. After creating her I told my wife and one of my creative consultants that I might have made her so hot that the fans would demand that she stays in the story. That's exactly what happened! That's okay, I'm working on it. Solo Heather? I kind of like that. I haven't done a solo scene....

Chapter 8 will be the final chapter... of Part I
Originally when I started The Libido Enigma I had written an outline for a five-chapter visual novel. It was important to me to actually finish this project. I released Chapter 1 on February 28, 2024, and I told myself that I wanted to finish the entire VN in under one year's time. But I kept adding more and more content that wasn't in that original outline. So now here I am working on Chapter 8. I'm still within that one-year goal, but that anniversary is approaching. One reason to have a finished VN is to be able to release a finished product on Steam, which I currently have scheduled for March 10, 2025.
As of a couple of weeks ago, my plan was to conclude everything in Chapter 8 and be done with it and move on. But I just can't let it go. I have grown so attached to these characters that they are almost like family to me. The thought of them just leaving my life was causing me grief. So, I've made a change in plans. Chapter 8 will be the conclusion of Part I of The Libido Enigma. The current plot arc with the experimental drug will conclude, and I will be releasing it as a complete game on Steam as planned. But I've decided that I want to continue with this same cast of characters (and likely add more) and just continue their journey with a new biotech storyline. Part II will likely have some changes. The biggest one being that it will convert to harem-only, and the monogamous routes will cease to exist. It's just too difficult to do five different routes. That worked when the game had an end soon, but for a continuation that would just be way too much work for me and cause the updates to take much longer. If you are on a monogamous path, don't worry you won't have to do anything differently or go back and play with the harem route. I've got some plot ideas to convert the monogamous routes to harem. I know some people will be upset with this, but I just have to do it this way for my sanity.

Are you going to tweak the paths in the ending of Part 1 or "fix" the paths in the beginning of Part 2?

There was a game that I felt handled this quite well that you could use as a point of reference, I think. It was by Caribdis called "Once in a Lifetime". It's been a while since I've played that so my memory might be a bit fuzzy but...
Essentially near the end, given that you had enough points with each character, you could choose if you wanted to go with the harem route with everyone, or you could choose a single woman to be with and get her solo ending.
You could aim to do something similar where you just focus on the main story line, all the while having opportunities with each LI along the way (INCLUDING HEATHER PLEASE T_T) that you can skip or pursue on your choice. Simply skipping would mean less points and skipping said sex/interaction scene. This way you wouldn't necessarily have to make multiple paths, those interested in just one or two can still pursue scenes with them and not be "forced" into scenes with everyone, and it allows you to just focus one main storyline and chances with each LI along the way. By the end, the MC can decide if he wants to be with everyone, or with one specific person.
