Tried to remove any special characters or white space, making sure folders are not forbidden in anyway, updated through either powershell file, even tried Locale Emulator, and I still get the green error.

Now I don't fucking know what else to fix. The only suspects left are the Japanese-named folders in data folder but I have no idea what to rename them into.

This is the 1st time ever I've struggled this much just to play a WolfRPG game.
The answer is simple: Japanese Locale Emulator -> Run in Japanese.

Do you have your system locale set to japanese?
Did you extract it with japanese locale?
This is a wolfrpg game it wont run otherwise.

I dowloaded the game and ran the patch, the game works just fine.
So if people are getting green errors they dont have "system locale" set to japanese

Note that i said system locale not locale emulator

Ran using Locale Emulator for japanese with administrator access. Game launched, I hope this helps.
Extracted using 7zip without emulator.

Edit: this was after trying to just run it normally and getting the green screen.

I've been playing Wolfrpg games for two decades now. And never needed to mess with my computer's locale, just use emulator.

Does fullscreen not work for anyone else? I changed the setting from window mode to fullscreen mode in Config.exe, but when I start the game and press F4 (as instructed in the window) it does nothing.

If left in window mode, it at least lets me change the size of the window a bit, but I'd much rather play on fullscreen if possible.

I've set Japanese locale in clock & region for 10 years.

Idk how to extract files using LE but according to other people here, means of extract doesn't seem to be the problem.

Game fails to load too many folders. If after 1 more day and I couldn't fix this, I'd just give up. If the game receives good ratings then I'll just outright buy it so I don't have to deal with this crap.

Uploader issue.

OP If you are using locale japanese but use 7zip in US or whatever Windows. It will mangle the japanese letters, rendering game unplayable/readable.

When using 7zip either change to Japanese system. Or put "cu=on" (without brackets) in parameters.

Nevermind, sorry op. It's Wolf Engine. Needs local simulator in order to work correctly.
Here download and install this.

Honestly idk what to tell ya. I can play it and it seems most of the people here can as well.

F95 haz guides on how to properly change locale and how to use locale emulator. https://f95zone.to/threads/how-to-install-japanese-language-pack-on-win-10.100711/ for example

And if you cant learn how to run the game now even if you buy it you wont still be able to run it since its the same game that requires japanese system locale or locale emulator like any wolfrpg game from dlsite

To be clear I'm not expecting a solution, I'd just like anyone to tell me either "Fullscreen works for me, it's a you problem" or "Doesn't work for me either". Would really appreciate it.

Also, a question about the flow of the game itself. There is a Day system and a new scene/event every day thus far, so is there an actual time limit to do everything you want to do? Or do you eventually reach a point where you can just take your time doing whatever?

Looks like all the H-CGs are just PNG files, meaning I could de-censor them if I wanted to.

And then I saw there was 994 images, not including the standing sprites.
Yeah, maybe not. Or I might just de-censor the scenes I like the most. Either way, 994 images is too much for my sanity.
