If you're just into fap, wouldn't it be more convenient for you to go to pornhub and watch a few videos than to download a game and search for the sex scenes?

I mean, this kind of "play a game" it's like watching a movie, but reading the dialogues... I still think that on pornhub you can find things that are perfect for fap, with some story and that are more practical. For me, playing without identifying myself with the MC removes all the interest of playing this type of game (VN, sandbox, RPGs).
I'm glad that you can find pleasure in that way. My original post was in favor of your freedom to do just that. I don't identify with any MC I've read on this site because I don't look like, act like, nor would I make the decisions that the MCs make in these games. So, I get my enjoyment from these games without putting myself in the MC's shoes. I treat it as if I'm simply watching a show or film. You like to become the MC so to speak and that's fine, again enjoy your game YOUR way. There are 10s of thousands of people daily on this site, and my original response was to someone attempting to speak for all of them instead of from his/her own perspective.
I've played tabletop role-playing games for many years (D&D, Vampire the Masquerade, etc.), and I guess this makes it easy for me to identify with characters with which I don't share anything. In these games the interpretation is essential, you have to act as the character would, not as you would, and you have to take into account that the character may have skills and knowledge that you, as a real person, may not share (You don't need to be a licensed doctor to play a character with great medical knowledge, nor do you need to be an expert tracker to play one in the game), in addition to being able to turn out that you don't share your age, physique or even race with your character (a a more or less big guy can perfectly play a rather weak elf, and a small guy can choose to be a huge half-orc) In fact, I find it incredibly difficult to play games without identifying with the MC, it comes naturally to me.
I play those games, ttrpg, for over 20 years already and I also can disconnect myself from MC in VN's, especially AVN's. But I understand that I'm not everyone
I too have been playing for about 20 years. Although I started out as a player, I've mostly played as a GM, Master, or whatever it's called in each game.
… and I have no issue with that. I’m glad that you can play the way you feel most comfortable. I’m glad that you’re doing so without attempting to force others to play in the same way you do. For me, putting myself in the shoes of a stupid, virgin that sexually assaults his family in their sleep isn’t something I’d find appealing. Putting myself in the position of an MC that likes being humiliated as his wife is railed in front of him is also something I’d like to avoid. The MCs in porn VNs as an immersive persona that I’m switching places with, just isn’t something I’m interested in. I thoroughly enjoy watching as an outsider when those things happen in game it has no emotional consequences for me as a disengaged viewer. I’m just watching weirdos doing weird shit with sexual scenes sprinkled in. Although… some of these games have pretty good stories that I find compelling! That’s about as far as it goes for me though.
