I know almost nothing about X-Men. I watched all the movies but that was like 10 years ago so I forgot most of it. I tried watching the character comic summaries on YouTube (there's a dude called comic explained - he's great), saw a 1hour summary of x-23's full journey and 20 mins of rouge summary. I know I'll enjoy the game much more If I know about the source material (like the 4 element trainer - you can play it without any prior knowledge, but the experience is better if you've watched the show).

So can you recommend any other sources where I can get a a good enough background info on the characters? I can't possibly read 50-60 years worth of comics - but if there are one shots or >10 volumes issues run - I'll read it. Or is youtube my best option? I remember not really liking the movies (expect Logan which was soo good)
I won't answer for Shiny, but I've asked the same question in the past and here's what I was told.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I've been also told about the movies - and yeah, you've watched 'em - but I'd reccomend you watch them again, X-men 1 and X-men 2 are fun and give some insight into the universe; they also give you voices to use when a character is in the screen.

Apart from that, you can find summaries of the issues Shiny passed (in the spoiler above) in Fandom ( ) and read individual character pages; for most main characters you'll get long pages, but for villains and others, you'll have just enough to read without getting too bored. I'd reccomend you read and pursue just enough knowledge our character would have.

(...) is there any end game plans to actually wife somebody?
Based question, I also want to know.

Can I read the issues (that you mentioned in the spoiler section) as standalones? I already started skiming through the wiki. Thank you for the info btw

PS - For anyone else who doesn't know much about X-Men - this video on x-23 is great

You should be able to.

I don't want to know too much about individual characters since I want to hear from them and others in the game itself, but I'm sure some people'll appreciate a bit of help with that.

Did shiny say they'll include background info in the game? I guess I must have missed that post
I'm not Shiny so don't take my word as gospel, yeah? I'm just talking about the game and sharing opinions. I'm sure Shiny'll talk further on your questions sometime later today.

Not sure what "background info" is, but I haven't read anything about a codex of characters or whatever. I meant, 'hear from them' in the way that they'll share their own story at one point and I want to get to know about them like that.

From what I understand, they're following the comics with the story, but not copying them. So only the basic, something a civillian in that world would know is the type of knowledge I'm looking for and reccommend others to search if they want to spend time with that.

Although, comics about them exist in the game's lore so if you want you could be a nerd who knows about the gals and bros from the comics alone - although I'm sure the comics would be different from reality even in the lore.
Personally, I'm playing the "smug jock" role, he doesn't know anything about mutants, and is friendly or dismissive (depending on how inferior, or superior, he feels to them) to people he doesn't know and respectful or commanding to people he does.

From what I saw with 0.3c, and this is only one example - that being Rogue talking about her homework - but you can react to information in varied ways, even say something first, then changing how the conversation goes after a one just new bit of information. Great stuff really, lots of way to act out.

This hasn't been confirmed, but I'm hoping girls talk about each other in some way - they could tell you about each other, or talk about another girl in jest if they dislike her.
Something like how Kitty gets Laura new clothes in Rogue-like. (I have thought of a few new scenarios since I played 0.3c but I don't want to present myself with ideas)

Talking about missed posts, I was thinking about maybe making a compedium of features that have been promised in the past, so that they can be added at the first page or just used as a link whenever people ask for stuff. Not sure how I'd go about that yet, and Shiny's here to reply to people anyway.

I mean I have and I'm a full-time university student. What's your excuse? :p

Or is youtube my best option?
Yes, very much yes. I cannot stress how much you'll want to watch the summaries people like Comic Historian provides.

One more question, since they'll be taking notes of how long you've been together, is there any end game plans to actually wife somebody?
We're still talking about it but it's so far away whatever consensus we come to could change like six times.

Love and Sex: Second base "endings" come to mind when i say this. Where you get a small event that says "hey, you did it! ya'll found love and got married. Nice." and then the game ends.
We don't plan on putting any "hard ends" in the game. You won't die and if we have a ending prologue or something, we'd want it to let you move around the sandbox since there will be post-main story DLC. We have at least one planned so far but other than wanting to do it there's not much done on it.

Reading character wiki pages is viable. Click on the citation numbers at the end of a sentence if you want to know the specific issues that the events happen in.

Did shiny say they'll include background info in the game? I guess I must have missed that post
I didn't, but we will to some degree.

I haven't read anything about a codex of characters or whatever.
Not sure if we'll go this far. We're really early in the timeline so there won't be too much to fill out until like half way into the game.

I meant, 'hear from them' in the way that they'll share their own story at one point and I want to get to know about them like that.
Yes. Each girl will have some backstory, but because of how early we are in the timeline, you'll be witnessing their backstory form as you play.

From what I understand, they're following the comics with the story, but not copying them.
This is true. We're "trimming the fat" for lack of a better term. Some events will bee off-screen and some will not be mentioned.

So only the basic, something a civillian in that world would know is the type of knowledge I'm looking for and reccommend others to search if they want to spend time with that.
Civilians won't know much since the X-Men for the longest time had secret identities.

In fact, Xavier's school being for mutants is just a rumor. We will be making changes to some presentation because these comics came out before the internet and video recording on phones was a possibility but nothing concrete will be available until later.

Also, this would probably be a good time to mention, the game will be taking place vaguely in the 2000s. We're not going to state specifics so let your mind wander if it's 2000, 2010, 2020, or whatever.

We made this decision because Magneto and Xavier would be way too old to participate thin things. I mean even Ian McKellen who played Magneto in the original trilogy was born AFTER Magneto had been a young teen during the holocaust.

We also don't want to touch on too many real-world events since we also plan on shoving a lot of the fictional stuff that happened in Marvel Comics.

Although, comics about them exist in the game's lore so if you want you could be a nerd who knows about the gals and bros from the comics alone - although I'm sure the comics would be different from reality even in the lore.
Very different. Many characters will be "in character" and events in the comics will occur with the MC's involvement or off-screen but things

Personally, I'm playing the "smug jock" role, he doesn't know anything about mutants, and is friendly or dismissive (depending on how inferior, or superior, he feels to them) to people he doesn't know and respectful or commanding to people he does.
This is a viable playstyle from what I've seen in write-ups.

This hasn't been confirmed, but I'm hoping girls talk about each other in some way - they could tell you about each other, or talk about another girl in jest if they dislike her.

I'll confirm it.

Please don't. As development goes on we'll be making changes and some of the things I've said will be outdated.

Like we just recently, like a few days ago, threw out the outlines we had for chapters after chapter 1 and figured out how we can faithfully follow the timeline without bogging everyone down with the 17th time the X-Men were abducted by aliens.

Shiny's here to reply to people anyway.
And I'm willing to answer questions more than once! Considering the answers may and have already changed in some instances!

Since I keep mentioning the timeline. This is a master list of all event comics.

Chapter 1 will be taking place concurrently with Spiderman's Clone Saga.

We have A LOT to go through. How far will we be going with this list? That's a secret for now.

I tried reading them when I was in highschool - I didn't really like it. The only reason I'm trying to read up a bit on X-Men now is just to have some context before I play this game.

Man..Reading wikis just to get context for porn - what has my life come to lol

I appreciate it that pregnancy and children came to discussion before marriage... or living together, jobs, etc.
Not that I expect any of that, it's just funny to me is all.

Hard ends are pretty boring in games like these. Endings don't mean anything to a player without something to lose.

Yes. Each girl will have some backstory, but because of how early we are in the timeline, you'll be witnessing their backstory form as you play.
Story-telling goodness, I can't wait.

Civilians won't know much since the X-Men for the longest time had secret identities.

In fact, Xavier's school being for mutants is just a rumor. We will be making changes to some presentation because these comics came out before the internet and video recording on phones was a possibility but nothing concrete will be available until later.
But people knew about mutants, right? I don't know about how the comics go, bu in the movies they had a big presence since the cold-war era. Lots of cameras, people talking about it.

Also, this would probably be a good time to mention, the game will be taking place vaguely in the 2000s. We're not going to state specifics so let your mind wander if it's 2000, 2010, 2020, or whatever.
YES! Early to mid-2000's here we go. I'm so happy, but it does bring in a few questions; how old will our phone be, the equipment around the mansion, and what about references to media of any kind?

This is a viable playstyle from what I've seen in write-ups.
Nice, can't wait to try it out.

Please don't. As development goes on we'll be making changes and some of the things I've said will be outdated.

So it's you we'll have to thank for a lack of aliens? 'Cause I'll thank you if there's some restraint.

In regards to learning about the X-Men, I recommend the podcast . They talk about the various story arcs of the X-comics and the behind the scenes Marvel office politics that were going on at the time. Good podcast to have on the the background while you're doing something else.

Eh we're going with the assumption that the MC will be a teacher at the academy and you are allowed to "live" with the other girls. Just hang out and sleep in their rooms or ask them to hang out in your room.

But people knew about mutants, right?
Yes, very much so. Though they don't know who the individual members of the X-Men are let alone their secret identity.

how old will our phone be
It's a touchphone. Runs on a private network set up by Xavier.

the equipment around the mansion
Same bullshit you see in all the secret laboratories in the movies and tv shows. X-Men have always had a lot of Science Fiction.

If you mean the mansion? Old-timey but only because the mansion is really old itself and outside of like people's computers you're not gonna see much modern stuff.

what about references to media of any kind?
Some girls will have band t-shirts or posters. Nothing too crazy to keep the illusion of being anywhere from 2000s-2020s

Because I'm a nerd, I convinced the team to replace all mention of modern public figures with marvel equivalents. .

So it's you we'll have to thank for a lack of aliens? 'Cause I'll thank you if there's some restraint.
Dude I've been stressing out about the Brood all day. It's a bullshit story but has a lot of good character moments. I'm having our head writer look at it to see how to condense things.

Has anything changed pregnancy-wise since the last time you talked about it?
So Storytime.

Emma Frost had her own school for mutants. Once she was beaten and joins the X-Men, Xavier takes control of it. All of the founding members of the X-Men eventually became college age so Xavier renamed his school to the Xavier Institute and renamed Emma's old school

We're moving this up in the timeline to accommodate but yeah this is our CURRENT idea. After you fight the Hellfire Club non-college-aged mutants will be going to this place. That includes your children.

I will note that there is no promise on if the pregnancy system will be implemented at the same time as this explanation. It's just our leading idea for how to handle it for now.

We also have no idea how in-depth child interaction will be. At the very minimum, the mother will speak of having visited them.

Which one of them is that? In the site, I mean.
We're not adapting it since this is not a Spiderman game but you may hear some details about it in the news or meet a character involved.

First time i write anything on this site. Keep up the good work, got so damn hyped reading this thread!
Honored to have your first post! We hope we can live up to the hype!

Atleast you are working on a project and you already like X-Men a lot. I'm not even a fan, but as I said - I'm reading JUST to elevate my porn experience/immersion. The sudden realisation hit me like a post nut clarity after I read wiki and watched YouTube for like 3 hours on x-men. The only superhero comic that I genuinely enjoyed was the spiderman comic - I read the whole original run and the ultimate Spider-Man too - some of the best memories of my highschool days. X-Men never really grabbed me that way

Man I can't wait for this game!! Literally everything you have said about it sounds extremely awesome and the art is great, it made me interested in Jean and she has never been one of my favs and that's also another thing, Rogue and Magik are my favorite girls and I can't wait to see them in the game!! Also seeing that there's so much effort on researching the comics and see what would work the best for this particular story is so awesome to me

I guess that's a nice way of letting the game have an "endless" ending after the main story. To be honest, I'd like to make my jock be a professor one day.

Yes, very much so. Though they don't know who the individual members of the X-Men are let alone their secret identity.
Guessing the comics are different from ours, then. If they don't touch on real names.
Not that I'm complaining.

Same bullshit you see in all the secret laboratories in the movies and tv shows. X-Men have always had a lot of Science Fiction.
I was going to question a touch-phone in an early-2000's setting, but X2 from 2003 had that really silly phone in Scott's car that had some sort of sci-fi schtick to it so I won't do any questioning.

If you mean the mansion? Old-timey but only because the mansion is really old itself and outside of like people's computers you're not gonna see much modern stuff.
I meant TVs, speakers, style of clothing.

Some girls will have band t-shirts or posters. Nothing too crazy to keep the illusion of being anywhere from 2000s-2020s
Best way to do it is making the bands be older than the 2000's - but then you get into some weird territory where teens/young adults are listening to songs that wouldn't be new and hip.

Dude I've been stressing out about the Brood all day. It's a bullshit story but has a lot of good character moments. I'm having our head writer look at it to see how to condense things.
Ah, sigh. Guess I'll be reading that one too.

We'll fight people from the Hellfire Club, that's also more stuff for me and Dezzled to read, hah. (I reckognize their design from Days of Future Past)

As for the idea... the mother speaking of visiting feels, sorta, right? But I'd need the strongest reason in the world to not go and visit my kids as a character so please, get me one or find me a way to see my kids.

I do like the idea of sending my kids to what is essentially a private far-away school but definitely not at an age younger than 6. But then... what is done with them until that age comes...
Aren't pregancy/kids-related talks fun in game design?

I always thought the fetish was just impregnating the women - I didn't know it included interaction with the kid too. For me the fetish was kinda marking the woman as my own and also making a reluctant woman finally agree to a creampie (consensually ofcourse) - the convincing part is great. The best impregantion scenes I've seen is in college daze - I didn't even have this fetish, that game just awakened the fetish inside me lol.

You can also have sex with the woman during pregnancy, the interaction with child thing is just because an action has a reaction.
Although, I 100% get the fetish of getting a girl to agree to a creampie. Based as all hell.

Do you like the comics now? I LOVE rouge like everthough I don't really like X-Men. I think If I had grew up with it - I would have loved it. But being in a 3rd world country sucks - western (or any other country's) entertainment barely reached my country when I was a kid. Spider-Man somehow became the outlier and became hugely popular when I was a kid. It was the only superhero that really took off in my country (during my teenage years)

I wouldn't say I like them, but I'll admit to enjoying reading more now then I did back when I had the money to buy them.
It's also a timing thing, I think. No new games, job's been getting really stale and life's been slow so I'll attach myself a bit to anything that brings a bit o' joy before going to sleep and waking up the next day.
Not that it's a bad thing, and to be honest, I prefer reading to feeling like I have to go out and walk 'till my legs can't support my body anymore.

I did have a bit of X-men in my life when I was young, don't know what country you're from, but I'm Brazilian and we didn't stray far from any sort of American children/teen TV. When I was young, tho', I barely watched kids/teen TV, I watched adult-oriented stuff with my family, elder family - also, school and other stuff was way more appealing than TV and video-games.

I remember watching kids TV a lot when I travelled since it was free on our main public channels and that's where I watched both versions of X-men, the original 90's and then Evolution. Some Spidey-guy too, but I was never a fan.

Fucking a pregnant woman is always a 50/50 for me. I dunno why - sometimes it's so hot, and sometimes it disgusts me
I'm a fan of lovey-dovey stuff, so as long as the girl is having fun while doing it I'm all into it. Pregnant sex should be slow and fun, the girl's already on a ton of pleasure and with the chance of getting one of the dozens things pregnancy adds - stomach aches, depression, constant chances of straining muscles - so it's also a thing of manhood, y'know?
Maintaining a human with your offspring, helping it survive in a harsh enviroment or whateva' - all to say, I like big bumps and I, REFUSE, to lie.

I think I get your disgust, tho' - it's a lotta stretching and the vulva can look unnapealing in certain angles. It's also just a hard thing to draw so you get some real ugly rendition of what I consider to be one of the most appealing condition a human being can be in.
I'm hoping the artist here can do right by this incredible state of life.
