In fairness, this is probably the one discussion forum where that's pretty much par for the course.

I'm not going to pretend I'm a prude or that I have some moral high ground because the stuff I look up can be described as "fucked up" by some individuals. Though porn games and mainstream comics aren't really comparable.

Well, I for one would be fine with it if there was a Scarlet Witch incest scene added to this game (or maybe Behind the Doom).

Like this. I wouldn't care if stuff like that happened in a game. We're making parodies. Unofficial works to jerk off to and are honestly just high-budget fan fiction.

If something shows up in an officially produced comic then it just gets messy. Like that whole thing of She-Hulk banging Juggernaut. That was a clusterfuck that they just went "Oh she was a Skrull the whole time." Skrulls, robots, clones, etc. It just devalues stories because any good character development... never happened to the actual character. It happened to this other entity that just ends up dying or something.

The thing about Joe Quesada throwing X-23 in Styx as he did was that he actually approached the creator, again who modeled the character off his daughter, to get her in the comics... only to make her an underaged prostitute that was a side character in someone else's story.

It was disrespectful to the writer and the character and Joe didn't age down X-23. She was a young teen in X-Men Evolution. The dude just went out of his way to grab an underage character and throw her into a story just to sexualize her.

Again I know the stuff on this website and I've downloaded some of it but us being degenerates in a corner of the internet is not really comparable to a multi-billion dollar industry known across almost every corner of the earth.

Innocence Lost is really, just terribly, good. But Target-X? Really? Shiny, it's really bad.

It's not perfect but I like it and the end of Target-X redeems Captain America from the unapologetic asshole he was in Innocence Lost. It also expands on other parts of Innocence Lost like showing more of her relationship with Sensei.

Did Styx come before Innocence Lost?

Yeah. It was the comic that introduced X-23. Innocence Lost and Target-X were made to give an actual backstory.

I actually would kinda mind. I don't consider the comic talk in between me giving info dumps on progress updates, the team is working on the big third-semester finale as we speak, off-topic because I usually give the feedback of what people like to read back to the devs but if y'all want to have full conversations about other games I'd prefer they actually be had in those games' threads.

Same goes for the super personal conversations. People have followed the thread to get updates on the game or talk comic book stuff. They come here to see if I answered questions or to ask me if they didn't.

A little while back, I was in a library and started reading a random Deadpool collection I grabbed off the shelf. It seemed to have a strong vibe of "people who saw the movie(s) are gonna be reading this now, so we need to make it more like that," which is pretty common for comicbooks (since their audience is a lot smaller than movies). Characters who were killed in the comics have been brought back to life to make the comics more like the movies. Or sometimes even more elaborate measures; Nick Fury in the regular Marvel universe was white, and then they had a whole storyline about how he had son with a black woman, and then "Nick Fury Jr." (who's an adult now, because original Nick Fury is old as shit) also joined SHIELD and lost his eye, and everyone just stopped mentioning the "Jr." part, so that Nick Fury in the regular comics continuity would be more like Nick Fury in the MCU.

Point being, if you enjoyed the movies and want to read comics that have a similar tone, I would say do a little research into which story arc or new creative team started after the movie came out. Those are probably the ones most likely to evoke a similar feel. (There also might already be listicles of "comics you should read if you liked the Deadpool movies" on nerd websites, but those might be older comics that have storylines or characters that inspired elements of the movies, rather than newer comics with a similar tone.)

Incidentally, have you ever seen Once Upon a Deadpool, the PG-13 rerelease of Deadpool 2? You have to put up with "fuck" being beeped out (unless you're lucky enough to be in possession of a fan-edit that integrates those scenes back into the R-rated version), but I personally think the Fred Savage scenes are indispensably hilarious. There are so many times when he says exactly what I'm thinking. Like one time when he says he's more a fan of the Marvel movies, and Deadpool says "we are Marvel," and Fred points out the quality difference between MCU movies and Marvel licensed by Fox. Maybe jokes like that are more for the hardcore fans, but I found him to be a great audience surrogate character for me personally, and it really added an extra layer of humor to the movie.

Also, I think my entry point to being a Deadpool fan (before the movies came out) was not any of the comics, but the 2014 video game starring Deadpool. It's not available anymore (through official sources, but you can buy discs on eBay if you want legitimacy), but a lot of reviews seemed to pan the gameplay anyway. You're just as well watching a video of it on Youtube so you can focus entirely on the jokes (EDIT: I thought

would be a fun way to watch the game, because Ryan Reynolds himself is one of the people playing it, but it's more like an interview where you don't ever see the humor or cutscenes). It leans a lot more heavily on the fourth wall than the movies did (Deadpool is constantly talking about how he's in a video game, referencing High Moon, the developer of the game, and sometimes even consulting the game's script), so if you want something more grounded, that ain't the way to go. But if you like the wacky surrealistic humor, that game is a real gem.

I LOVE the Deadpool game - played it to death when I was in highschool - all the meta jokes are hilarious and original. I really wish there was a sequel for that game. I played that game after watching Deadpool 2016. I'll give once upon a Deadpool a watch - seems like I'll enjoy it. I watched a lot of YouTube videos breaking down comic story arcs - I remember enjoying the stories but I forgot everything now (since I saw them years ago, I think the channel was comicstorian). I guess it's time to read some Deadpool

Try a genre that you like.

If you like fantasy then Mistborn is a great starting point (but the audiobook is 25hrs long so maybe not beginner friendly, but if keep patience, you will be rewarded, it's an amazing story, with an amazing world and one of the best magic system I've ever read)

If you like science fiction - dark matter will be perfect. It's very fast paced and the science is very easy to understand (10hrs)

If you like short horror stories - there are so many channels on YouTube (since you said you like YouTub). I can give you 3 recommendations (I've listened to hours of these horror stories)

There aren't any sequels, but there are other games that Deadpool appears in, with the same actor and vibe. He was in the Marvel Heroes MMO, he had a table in Zen Pinball (not sure if it was Zen Pinball 2 specifically, or if 3 has all the same tables), and a bunch of games I haven't played like Marvel Future Revolution, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Ultimate Alliance 3, and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Most recently, he's a DLC character in Midnight Suns, which is the new Marvel card-based tactical game from the makers of XCOM. I read an interview that said the original plan was for him to be in the base game, but his personality was so loud that he pulled focus from everyone else whenever he was in the room. (Full disclosure, the DLC does have mixed reviews, but I'm hoping that's just because of early bugs and some people not vibing with Deadpool's type of humor.)

Marvel Heroes is dead, it's not even possible to play that anymore. I bought the Deadpool pinball table back in the day, and I did find my lack of pinball skill got in the way of enjoying the humor, so that might be a good one to just watch someone else play it on Youtube. Not sure if Deadpool's table is even available still anyway. There's a lot of other Marvel stuff on the FX3 page, but I don't see that one.

You can have morality even if you have degenerative ideas. Morality/ideals is what should defines us, what's there to dictate what we do and why - when you keep kinks far from what you do, and what makes you, you gain the perk to comment on the people who don't.
For the people like us who can keep ourselves to a place like this - willingly and with concious of who we are - I think we can at least agree that as long as we're not actively trying to force our kinks into our generation's minds, we're morally superior to those who do.

Like you said, it's uncomparable to have someone write down fetishes on what is essentially a product for young/imaginative minds. Even more to write it down in hopes of making it grim - as something that's 'normal' - without giving it much attention or respect.
I'm certain they shouldn't touch on child prostitution, which is essentially child molestation since children can't consent to prostitution. So for the best, just don't ever touch on it.

Roger never appeared on Innocence Lost... did he? I can't for the life of me remember it since he's just that uninteresting of a character anyway.
I'll say this, tho', I like the stuff with Sensei, but I don't like that they included the really, terribly, mean villain after his death. Like TLoU, you gain a lot by cutting scenes at dramatic moments like that, like when little Sarah is shot and it cuts as Joe cries with her in his arms - it's good direction.

I was mostly joking, I liked the writing in 0.3c and I also like the art style. Shiny did a good job promoting the game so I stuck around.
The only reason I come back to the thread at all, daily, is the faint hope that I'll get to see an embarassed Laura before the game comes out, because when it does, I'll fucking search every byte in the archives to make that my profile picture - if it's cute.

It's hard to qualify any representation of child molestation as respectable, same as with any representation of rape.
But from what I understand; The Null Hyphotesis's Laura didn't get to be molested; and RLE's Laura spoke about it in a somber tone in an overall realistic conversation about her past - both are a thousand times better than uh... whatever her whole shtick in the comics is.

One day I'll be able to not let that disgusting transition at the end of Target-X live rent-free in my head. But as long as it does, I'll make sure to ridiculize it.

It makes sense that she has no idea of how to interact with humans, but to be so abbrasive when dealing with people when she was mostly quiet?

Just my perspective but if you've been forced to be quiet your entire life on threat of having your ass handed to you by someone you can't physically touch yourself, I'd take it as a chance to be abrasive to the Mythbusters.

That's how kids work, that's why the ideas of child assasins is stupid when paired with a parental figure. Kids are also defiant by nature, even when quiet they defy with actions, like when she held that photo in her mouth.

With a mother like... uh... whatever her name was, it's impossible she didn't pick up a few tactics in conversations, or that the mercenaries that dragged her around the world never shared a moment of joking, mocking, talking about life - they could have gotten direct orders, but before the doctor killed them they were an open faucet in terms of conversation and I cannot see Laura not picking up any of it.

She most likely found defensive methods as to not be hit or whatever whenever she acts like a normal human being, but she's not autistic. This is also another reason to hate Kimura, but another reason for what I talked about with the banter and abrassive personality - she already had taken something from someone, Kimura.
There's no way that rancid fucking bitch also didn't influence Laura a bit.

It's fun to think this way, somewhat - 'cause in this scenario, Roger caused Laura to become a victim of underage prostitution. Have the two ever interacted after that goodbye in the comic? If they have, how'd it go?
I mean, I don't know if Laura regrets it, or if she's mad about it. And I think I gotta take an L here, 'cause although I'm curious I'm only curious because of her, and not the story. I dont trust really trust it to entertain me and be kind to its characters.

I would have adored a latina Laura, not one brown-ish character in RLE and that'd be a cool addition. I'll admit tho', I'd have gone with white Laura any day of the week, call it whateva', but black hair with white skin is as much of my kink as red-head and slightly dirty white skin.
