This was an early decision. The TL;DR is that Marvel characters are rarely ever allowed to have happy relationships. This is because a good writer will show a cute romance or a touching friendship and when they're done with the run, some asshole will come in and ruin it because they're edgy. Or one of the MANY and I mean SEVERAL bitter executives who think happy marriages are unrealistic and boring and force writers to end them or to cause drama.

One of the biblical laws of Marvel is that the main universe 616 has to have the Fantastic Four love each other as they're "Marvel's First Family."

Because of this... 99% of every other appearance of Sue Storm has her cheating on Reed or the fantastic four just hating each other.

Our writing team is just so tired of this and our exhaustion overrode our horniness.
Man, you devs are so based. Any decent FF fan should absolutely hate all the stories with Sue cheating or being interested in Namor/Black Panther/fucking Galactus. Thank god for your good taste.

What a wacky world we live in where porn artists have more care and appreciation for characters and their development than the official writers.

But this is enough to be skeptical of the roadmap, don't get me wrong, if you need to postpone development for a whole year instead of autumn-winter for financial or technical reasons, I will treat this with understanding, the main thing is that the game has a solid foundation that will simplify further expansion in terms of history and characters, but experience many games made me disbelieve all sorts of schemes and schedules as unstable.
There is no postpone in our development time, all the info i said is visible in the roadmap, and we been clear about it. The issue is you spreading false information on the update schedule. You already got respectifully corrected about it.

Edit: "Roadmap manual"
In case you did not undertand our roadmap i will explain to you, on the top right of the Roadmap there two values the current "2k" and the next goal "3k"
On each update there 2 dates indicating the current value and the next goal, the only thing that hold us back is the art, that's why the patreon value does a direct inpact on the update schedule, because with the money, we can make more comissions to the artists.

It's honestly terrible being a full-on comic book fan in 2024. There ARE some good comics currently out there, but they're very fucking few and far between when it comes to the Big Two. When a one-note, character-assassinating hack like Tom King keeps getting held up as the greatest modern comics writer, you know the medium is in trouble.

Though at least one of the nice things about modern comics is that Marvel and DC print a lot of collected editions these days (presumably because they know that's where all their good stuff lies), so one can very easily just buy up and read all the great old comics and pretend none of the modern rubbish exists. Why bother dealing with how offensively stupid Zeb Wells's Amazing Spider-Man is when you can just go read the original Ditko/Lee/Romita goodness, or Roger Stern's run, or JM DeMatteis's Spectacular? If you're tired of all mutantkind going and getting themselves genocided AGAIN for the 4th or 5th time running, then why not simply return to Claremont's run before any of that happened?

When people want me to believe boycotts don't work, I think about how Alan Moore decided that he'd just not work with companies again if they lied to him/cheated him/treated him like shit.

If a big comicbook company had resisted jerking Alan Moore around they could probably be doing pretty well these days.

Since that's not happening I guess I hope the money was worth it fellas lmao.

I mean to have it happen once, maybe twice sure. Some drama is interesting but dear god is it pervasive.

I was never a committed comicbook fan. I just picked up an issue if it looked interesting or not but I read like everything from Giant Size X-Men to Onslaught(The timeline of our game) and the shit I've seen...

I used to like Havok. Most of my experience with the dude was from video games and movies and he seemed cool. Nah a serial cheater that Polaris puts up with for no god damn reason. Like her character development is constantly put to the side for Havok to deal with some self inflicted crisis.

Let's just say that our writer team has ideas on doing Polaris justice if we get the opportunity.

Oh yeah. Havok went to an alternate reality and banged Sue Storm.

We clown on Cyclops and Spyke but that's all in good fun. There's is genuine distaste for Havok.

I mean I have a list of games like that linked in my signature.

I need to go back an update it now that I have some time. :HideThePain:

IIRC Alex even hooked up with Scott's wife, Madelyne Pryor (aka The Goblin Queen), in the middle of the Inferno saga.

And since Madelyn was the clone of Jean Grey, that's gotta make any future interaction between Alex and Jean really, REALLY awkward.

He married her in the alternate universe that he banged Sue Storm in.

The WORST part is that he switched places with another Havok. So while one Havok was chilling in 616, the main Havok went and made everyone think he was a fuck boi.

All this talk about alternate versions in comics reminds me of this:

I think the reason it's so overdone is because the love triangle between Reed/Sue/Namor is fairly prevalent in the first two to three years of Fantastic Four. There it's just a standard soap opera piece of melodrama, where Sue feels sympathy and some measure of attraction to royal, arrogant, speedo-wearing bad boy Namor but knows in her heart that her man is Reed. It's completely over and done with once Reed finally proposes to Sue in #35.

But there's modern writers out there who must have really only read the first 20 or so issues of FF out of casual, cursory interest and so they end up with the misconception that Sue's interest in Namor is this major aspect of her character, Reed and Sue's relationship, and the title as a whole. So that's how we end up with all these alt stories where Sue cheats on Reed or outright leaves him, or even the mainline stories where they play on Sue supposedly still being into Namor (mostly thinking of that one page in Civil War). It's bullshit and reductive.

It'd be like if other certain writers had only ever skimmed over the first two dozen or so issues of Lee/Ditko's Amazing Spider-Man and so then figured that Spider-Man permanently needs to be some young nerd stuck in high scho-
Oh wait.

Both Havok and Polaris have had awful, awful writing happen to them over the years.

I like Havok more than Polaris, mostly because Neal Adams's original design for the man is a fucking classic, but admittedly I've still not yet reached the original Inferno in my X-Men reading (I got Claremont'd out a while ago by the time I reached Fall of the Mutants) so I don't fully know all the Maddie shenanigans he gets up to there.

In the early mid 80s, Alex and Lorna are meant to be the mutants who wanted to go live a nice, quiet, happy life in the desert away from all the typical X-Men shenanigans, before they got dragged back into it during Mutant Massacre. I wish they'd go back to that characterisation. Instead, these days you get the recent X-Factor #1, where Lorna demands that Alex use her "mutant name" and only call her Polaris like some kind of cultist while Alex willingly goes back and joins another team despite everything.

Fucking comic books. I mean, honestly.

Its gotten so bad, even capcom feels sorry for poor Peter and keeps trying to ship him with Morrigan just to give the guy a break.

If there was a visual novel where you were basically Peter's friend and wingman, trying to continually discourage him from relationships that will foreseeably end with bartering The Girl's soul with a literal demon/devil or signing up for a dating app where clearly every woman on the app is Doc Oc in drag I'd probably pay.

The Dio Brand reveal for when you fail the latter writes itself.

In other words - you are telling people to go and buy spoilers?
Not sure they can really be called spoilers since they seem to be more of just guidelines for them and they're not sticking hard and fast to them since Rogue had stolen Ms Marvel's powers before she ever joined the X-Men in the comics. Maybe Marvel retconned her origins in the modern garbage they try to pass off as comics, but since I don't keep up with the modern garbage I can't say for sure.
