That is only strictly true for species that do not have a hemochorial placenta. That thing is basically a parasite that hijacks the cardiovascular system and turns a mother into a genetic chimera. A lot of complications in regards to blood oxygenation, pressure and nutrient intake stem from that one key difference.
Which is also why
that absolutely wouldn't be a thing. Before the hormones go into full swing, the exact thing you would expect happens: the immune system tries to reject the implanted zygote. Hyper efficient immune system? Good luck getting anything through the first few weeks. Unless a kid exhibits the conservation of energy defying healing factor from conception, your chances here look grim.

Starcraft deserved a better follow up. Shit was fun, but never managed to live up to the legacy of the original.
Given that the devs who manage to make full games in 2 or three years on here are basically like a studio going from 'we have an idea' to 'here's the full game' in the span of a month, 10 years sounds like a reasonable development cycle.
And given that the devs here have been producing what is basically kobe beef level content in our cesspool of degeneracy, I'm sure those ten years are going to be a good time.
In fact, I was prepared to say some good things, but refrained when I realized how far from the intended end product this is.

The next update will likely add art assets and some QoL changes. The updates between 0.8 and 1.0 will be about making some key changes to the game, making it fully playable at 1.0 on the unfortunate off chance that the game has to be cancelled. That being said, Kitty et al will be added in the 1.1 update.

Not just as a backup to a cancellation, but to make the game as feature complete as possible so they hopefully never have to do major reworks/implement things retroactively. Y'know, try to avoid the usual pitfalls that kill games.
Plus once they get all that hard stuff out of the way all they'll need is art and writing, and things can just zoom on by.
