After looking at comic pictures.I am 100 percent sure it's her cheekbones and even the jawline her face is more defined in comics
I don't really know what you mean by "softer," she has a facial structure very similar to the comic depictions with a defined jawline and high cheek bones. Maybe it's just the type of soft gradient we use with the shadows? The point is for her to look blemish and wrinkle free, I didn't mean soft features.

I don't know maybe it is the artstyle difference but to me her jawline doesn't look sharp enough to what I expect Emma to look like. Her cheekbones have similar issue. It's tough to say into words but another word I would use to describe the game's art of her would be apert from softer is "rounder" than the comics.I don't mean that she is chubby or anything like that but she doesn't look to me at all like the typical super sharp modelesque look I see in comics. Her face in comics and also a animated media is not that round in shape in comparison. She looks beautiful for sure but she just doesn't look or capture Emma frost's look for me.

Ah you know what. I needed that close up, looks better. I see the problem. We're so used to the expression of "looking down on us" for Emma. Squint her eyes, and give her a sly smirk for an expression and we'll get us looking like-

if, in the event, it is Emma Frost, will she be capable of reading Null's mind or would it be similar to how Charles and Jean can't due to his power? also any chance of an Old Man Logan reference in future updates? I just finished watching Deadpool and Wolverine and am hungry for more references and variants

Oh dang! i nailed it before when i mentioned the fluffy cape!
Null's been a bad boy, miss Frost.

Actually, i agree on this, she needs to look more smug and look at us like if we were a worm, thats the true White Queen experience.

Teasing entirely aside, there is a possibility that you won't.

While the art is being done for the finale of chapter 1, we are discussing specifics for chapter 2.

Don't take this as confirmation at all. Just that it isn't out of the question.
Please do, showing her now then making us wait 2 years would be too mean.

Alright, time to put on my tinfoil hat once again.

I'm still gonna go on my theory that the devs will do a version of the Claremont era since so far a lot of things are looking that way with null being associated with Amahl Farouk (also the last villain in the era) and us now entering the Dark Phoenix Arc. Also, Image of the Claremont era below for those wondering what that is:

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Anyway, considering that the "foe" in the teaser is revealed to be Emma Frost, this furthers my suspicion that she won't be an interactable LI in Chapter 2 but perhaps Chapter 3? Like Storm in Chapter 1, I'm guessing Emma will just appear in the main story sequences to push the plot further. Specifically her role in the Hellfire Club and them trying to indoctrinate/turn the Dark Phoenix into their Black Queen iirc (My X-Men lore is a bit rusty, so forgive me).

My only concern right now is will they even be able to fit all of that in their current format of a chapter consisting of the 4 seasons? Cause I do remember the X-men going to space during Dark Phoenix and the whole Lilandra and Shi'ar Empire plot line unfolding but maybe they'll cut it? Could just be me but I see the devs doing a more grounded take with this story with some elements of the cosmic being integrated but not fully going into it. Plus, all that art assets making those sequences could be taxing (just looking at this from a logistics point of view).

Besides that, based in comic lore, Emma Frost joins the X-men much later and takes on the eventual role of an actual teacher there in the school with her students being the Hellions. Now assuming Emma is playable in Chapter 2, wouldn't it be weird that the next batch of LIs consist of 2 teachers and 1 student? Could just be me again but seems a bit much don't you think and Charles Xavier would be really suspicious as to why this guy just managed to seduce 2 staff members? The only way I can see her being playable though is if Emma is not a teacher but some sort of mentor figure from the Hellfire Club who visits the mansion in order to teach jean to control the dark phoenix while also corrupting her to be evil to advance the story.

At the end of the day though, for all I know, I could be dead fucking wrong like always though and Emma is actually playable and I'm just stupid n wasting my time typing this.... But, let's play devil's advocate. If she is not playable, who would it be? The only logical conclusion at this point would be Kitty Pryde since she literally debuts in this saga along side Dazzler. Both of which, are key players in that storyline.

From a gameplay standpoint, Each LI is supposed to be a representation of the 3 scholarship options, sports, arts, and academics. Im assuming, Storm gets sports, Dazzler gets arts and Kitty gets academics or if Emma is playable she also gets academics. Why? Kitty Pryde in contrast with Jean, is also a nerd but rather than preppy, more nerdy and geeky. For Emma, more much probably classical and elitist kind of academics. Just my two cents anyway.

Now for random shit I just wanna share... in the comics, I might be wrong but I do remember the Hellfire Club kidnapping some X-men and that included Colossus and Storm I think?, and it just so happens that Storm will be in Chapter 2 and also Colossus (Like the Kurt of Chapter 2, he's already got his own art asset too). Along with that, who rescues those kidnapped X-men? Dazzler and Kitty Pryde so this might actually become part of the narrative for Chapter 2 if Kitty Pryde debuts in Chapter 2. Plus, in the comics, Kitty and Colossus also have a romantic relationship, whether or not that is ever touched in Chapter 2 IDK but just wanna share it. Plus, Like I've said before numerous times in previous posts, I still like the idea of null being a second year and essentially tutoring Kitty. An Inverse of his previous relationships in Chapter 1.

Lastly, Emma's face in the art. She's cute and pretty don't get me wrong but I remember Emma always having her eyebrow raised with this smug attitude and resting bitch face that just likes to be condescending, anyone else? Would be a lot better if they made her face more angular and meanish.

I'd say classic Emma looks like a top bitch with sophistication and domination being her A games, whereas Null's Emma looks like a porcelain doll. Looks more innocent. I guess it's down more to the expression and shading.

We havent even met normal Logan, much less an alternate version of him from another timeline.
Since Gambit isnt here to help out like in the comics, Null should be the one to help him bond with his pseudo-daughter

I 'member!
She had Storm all tied up in her underwear.
I guess it's down more to the expression and shading.
She needs to look more smug.

The difference between the vibes of I'm pretty you spineless plebian slave vs. Look at me, Im pretty right?

Jokes aside, if Shinyboots or any other devs see this, I suggest besides what other people have said already. Maybe also make Emma Frost's eyebrows a more darker shade or just black like in most comics. I think it's a general rule in animation for blonde characters have a more darker shade of eyebrows so it gets more pronounced and be more visible to the audience, that's what I learned in arts school at least. Besides that, her eyebrows are often than not more thin at the end too and thicker at the start. Lastly, its a very subtle thing but in a lot of Emma's comic appearances and art, she often has very low eyelids to the point where you can see the bottom end of her iris and more of the white of the sclera. Small detail but it adds to her resting bitch face and mean but sharp looking face.

Definitely, Null's Emma's lips are gorgeous. They look like a dangerous treat. Maybe a part of what could help her look more menacing or arrogant would be moving her head either up or down so that she's either looking at you from above or below. It'd emphasize the difference between her and everyone else, like she's not looking at them as an equal.

okay last message, I don't wanna dump too much of my thoughts on this thread, I just love the game but to emphasis my point, I quickly made a random ass edit of her face. Left is the original and Right is my edit Respectively.

1731754358856.png 1731754372620.png

Also, I just wanna say, whoever did the original art was amazing, you're really talented and keep going at it man. Im not trying to negatively criticize the art but I just wanna say its great but its just missing that one small essence of what defines Emma Frost (for me I think) that prevents it from becoming perfect. Anyway, peace out guys, see you when 0.7 drops

edit: I failed to mention, I also made her eyes smaller along with lowering her eyelids. Plus, giving more shadow on her cheekbones and elongating the middle of her face.
