Anyone know if it would it be better to restart with the new update? Or will all the events be obtainable on an up to date save? My saves are all right before the finale.
They're obtainable on a save from 0.7. I loaded a save and got Rouge's new scene almost instantly, followed by Laura's when it switched from morning to afternoon

Leech can turn off physical mutations and he can't control this ability.

So while Leech can not only prevent X-23 and Wolverine's healing factors, they won't be able to pop their claws if Leech is standing next to them.
This is very strange, especially considering that the release of claws is not a mutant ability, and not even a physical change in the body under the influence of a mutation, it is literally just the most ordinary contraction of muscles, and if he blocks the ability to contract them, then within a radius of 100 feet (according to the description of the person from this topic, the range of his ability) all living beings should completely die, because the Leech superpowers would block the ability to contract the muscles of the lungs to breathe, and also the heartbeat. Walking or moving is also of course important, but it doesn't really matter when you're dead.

My guess is that leech's ability takes into consideration the presence of the x-gene in a person's body. I get what you mean by popping out claws is just contraction of muscles, but what i think is leech's ability has a kind of a blueprint of how an average human body is like. So it scans the mutant x gene and looks for any differences in the bodies of a mutant and the blueprint. My guess is that the muscles around the wrists of laura and the other weapon x kins is modified so as to be able to accommodate the pushing out of claws. Leech's ability sees this and decides that it's not similar to the blueprint and thus nullifies the muscles responsible for this.

As for me, this is already too far-fetched.
Even if this is so, and under the influence of the gene, the nearest "normal" tissues begin to transform so that the Leech would notice them and reduce them to nothing, this still means that all mutants whose abilities affect the whole body (Colossus, Rogue and most mutants) still receive complete immobilization, because their gene affects the whole body, and not in a certain area. And even if this were so, the same X-23 would still be completely immobilized and dead without oxygen-heartbeat, because her regeneration gene affects every cell of the body that will be under the influence of the Leech (as you write)

Nightcrawler would just BAMPF out of existence.

No no don't think of leech's ability as turning the powers "off" like a switch, instead think that they turn them into their human equivalent instead. I'm not saying they modify each individual cells, they make them behave as their human equivalent or nearest.

Yes, just like most mutants. You can't block physical processes purely logically, because it would be a super-strong ability. In fact, any living creature will be dead within a couple of minutes within a 100-foot radius, only robots or entities consisting of non-organic matter will be able to survive (for example, Emma's diamond form or Colossus's is 100% metal, if he becomes completely metallic, of course, and not just on the outside). And all the rest (90%+) of mutants will die almost instantly. If this is really done like this in the original, then it is extremely stupid. Even if it only affects physical cells under the influence of the mutant gene, and it is not scary for ordinary people, it is still very strong.

Well then, if it does not "turn off" the forces and cells, then the question of how the physical contraction of the muscle is blocked still remains open. It is not something fantastic, just a normal powerful contraction that causes the claws to fly out.

I explained that in my first comment. Weapon x and other x - kin have modified muscles that push out the said claws in their wrists. These muscles are not seen in the blueprint that leech's ability looks in. So it considers them as mutant power and turns them to behave to their human equivalent which is normal wrist muscles. Thus they can't push out the claws.
