And what, in 2025, artists still use sketches to choose poses? Now it’s clear why the graphic component is the heaviest and most expensive for developers.posted on Discord

RonChon:some more art for y'all!
this one isn't a preview, but rather a look behind the scenes, meant to give some insight into my workflow with the character artist. choosing poses for CGs is hard, and often times I don't know what's going to work until I have the layers laid out and can start figuring out how animation will work. the process usually starts with me presenting a few references that the artist uses to work up several pose variants, with us moving forward incrementally to further steps of rendering based on what seems to be working
first we have some sketches that we were testing for new doggy positions, but ultimately scrapped because the perspective for penetration was going to be too awkward
second I have a sketch that's made it pretty far in the rendering - far enough that the artist actually drew a face and committed to a body type. I'm blurring the face because I don't want someone to conclude from this preview that some new character is coming - this is just the artist putting in placeholder details for fun
I'll be posting a couple more of these more advanced sketches to Patreon for preview tier patrons!

All this is done in literally a couple of minutes in a 3D editor, you can also add 3-5 frames for penetration, to understand how it will look in 2D, in this case, a more correct anatomical component will also be preserved
