To be fair, the time to develop 1.0 is going to be much longer since they are constantly developing, adding and changing up the games mechanics. Once those are locked down, the remaining chapters are likely to be mostly content which is probably only limited by art production. Once the 'engine' is done, the rest of the game could speed up dramatically.
Sorry to have a hard time believing it, since I've been on this forum (so 6 years) I've seen developers come and go. And when a game is this slow in the first year, most of the time, after 5 years, the game is barely a quarter of the way through (or less). Now only time will tell if I was wrong.

i dunno how long the pre public release was, but the public release was far less and the quality jump is continuous. I say this as a fellow who had seen the same shit happen in many other places. Right now the game is in good hands and there are no signs of similar bad treatment... well for now at least.

I mean, Weapon X (Plus) Program is supposed to be like numbered and X, Wolverine, being the tenth experiment, with Weapon I being Captain America, others being Deadpool (retconned) and Luke Cage.
I was just having fun, no place for actual lore to come in and run said fun. cheers

We're working on the best way to implement this. I can't really think of any game of this nature that has had a satisfying combat system. As stated above we have plans for powers and letting you use them rather than them being in cutscenes would be cool, but there have been games I have LOVED but I've stopped playing because the combat system is just terrible or overly complicated.
It is actually pretty good, if you had put RPG combat mechanics instead of porn, id be playing it too, this is the closest there is to playing a game where you are your OC the x-man.
With all the leveling system and the talent tree, and the side chicks also having levels, maybe a turn by turn RPG on a chessboard like FFT would be great? Don't see a lot of games having a chessboard tactical RPG using Ren'Py here (if anybody has examples I am curious), so I don't know how feasible it would be without massive performance issues.

You could use Laura as a basic char with just regen per turn and higher base stats including movement, Kurt would actually have useful in-game mechanics, Rogue could interact with allies/enemies to "borrow" some power, Jean could lock/move enemies, etc... Not asking for BG3/Chrno Trigger levels of complexity of course.

What are the current thoughts on that? Too complex to implement? Unsatisfying gameplay? There's already a roadmap so maybe this idea got scrapped.

Hell, just this would do the trick, if four elements training managed to pull it off, why not TNH?

We've discussed pregnancy at length. The TL;DR is that it's very difficult to have a successful pregnancy when you're being gut punched every week.

I mapped out points in the timeline where a girl could go 9 months without being gut punched but you'd have to romance a girl at a very specific point for it to happen.

when will the main story continue?
1.0 will be when we're 100% done with chapter 1 and our requirements for the engine.

1.1 will be the first update with Chapter 2 story content.

Improvements for modders?

Glad you're looking out for modability; that being said, anyone heard of any actual mods yet?
The modders are waiting for 1.0 but them and our code monkeys can tell you that we've added a new toy to play with every numerical update.

It's a near tie between you and Four Elements Trainer (which is a different kind of writing I know).
We will never be as funny as Four Elements Trainer. I wish we could but I don't see the dev lending us Shady anytime soon lol

Hope you allow some more villainous choices down the line to corrupt the school/girls too though, while it's great having a wholesome story, allowing those kinds of choices would take your game to new heights I'd imagine. :)
Null will have some anti-hero moments. I'm sure you've noticed his more aggressive dialogue options. Though we won't be having a branching villain route.

Corruption is currently present to a certain degree with the quirk system and we've already mapped out Storm, Dazzler, and the unrevealed girls' quirks.

100% this. Once the baseline is established, it will just be waiting on writers and artists.

I doubt you guys would have enjoyed waiting until Chapter 4 for us to fix the UI and have Null stop asking for consent to kiss every 5 seconds.

I don't know why RLE has it that way. They're yellow in our game because I forgot to inform the team of the error before the art update and we all just agreed it looked neat.

I imagine "Green Eyed Laura" will be an early mod.

Sounds a bit complex. We've discussed like 5 different combat systems and even have some assets for them. Though nothing has met our quality standards YET.

We've discussed this and sprites would be cool but we're not sure... again YET.

Simple answer: we realised surprisingly recently we'd picked three characters with green eyes in canon, so someone had to go home and change. The amber eyes work well with Laura anyway: she's supposed to have a very unnerving, piercing stare in the comics, which works just as well with vivid amber eyes as it does with vivid green eyes, and it works nicely with 'stray cat' thing we have with her. I think we made Rogue's eyes slightly different as well, a while back as well.
