Both would be good.
I noticed that Laura has black fingernails and toenails but Rogue and Jean dont have any colors, maybe Rogue could use a purple and Jean red or green?

Spyke was always a OC character, him being Storms nephew and african american never made any sense given Storms backstory. The writers openly admitted he was created entirely for the purpose of having a black american on the cast and that they wanted to do a "White male mutants are still racists" kind of thing with him but editors shut that down. All bets are off with him since he was a writers pet which means source material will be ignored the moment it's inconvenient.
Storm is a first gen mutant and so was Spyke and both only have one mutation. If I recall correctly, his mutation just progressed as the show went on rather than evolved, it was more an allegory for going through puberty than anything else; there were even little jokes comparing him growing spikes to body hair and shooting spikes while asleep to having a wet dream.
Mutations grow and recede with the user, someone with super stregth would get stronger as they mature just like a telepath would get weaker as they got old and their mind wasn't working as well anymore. Spykes bones getting bigger wasn't mutation evolution, just maturation.
So no, he's not like Emma at all.

The sad part is, it's mostly having to show they're better than the Gentiles. The main reason is a need to show they aren't the bad guys when another wave of anti-Semitism rolls around. For those less willing to be the victim, it's a cover for the massively illegal shit they are willing to do to protect their communities. Great folks, but they can get a little repressed.
Ok thank you! Was just wondering since I remember his spikes probably around that "allegory for puberty" time had fire on them and it grew around his body.

Dazzler's definitely a cute:
...but you're right. She doesn't usually get a whole lotta love compared to the other X-Girls. I chalk that up to the fact she's a disco superhero created after disco had already died for a film which never happened. She's a bit superfluous. Still, it could always be worse. She could be as neglected as Polaris.
