Wait... so if I remember correctly Ron defended his thesis for a programming doctorate, and now he's in med school? I'm all for diversification in fields....but I feel like the gap between programming and medicine is a bit much.RonChon:
I also have a new roadmap for y'all!
you'll note that it does not include deadlines. that is because I am back in medical school and, for the next 12 months, will be immersed in clinical rotations. I am coding and animating for TNH in the nights and on the weekends I have off, often instead of spending time with my partner/sleeping/studying. that is not cause for worry - TNH brings me an immense amount of joy and I remain dedicated to it. however, the only way I'm not going to utterly burn out is if I can work on the game at my own pace and be flexible with deadlines without being beholden to the "when update???" voices
eventually the dev team will be able to afford another programmer to help share the workload, but until then we're all going to need to recognize my limits as a human being and allow for updates to come when they come. I want to reiterate that we are still not "profitable" yet - I estimate that the dev team will start to be able to pay ourselves at the $4500/month mark, when our art needs are fully covered without me dipping into my own pocket
my internal goal, which I think is very attainable, is to get to v1.1 before the end of the year
