I'm kinda shocked the Brood storyline is so hated. We're talking the original 80s Brood stuff right? I always thought the X-Men's time in space was quite beloved.

I really enjoy the Brood Saga, but I can see why some might not.
Though tbh, the real peak of cosmic X-Men has to be either the M'Kraan Crystal Saga or the latter half of Whedon's Astonishing run.

That makes sense, i guess. The Brood definitely lost their luster over the years. I guess I need to re-read the OG Brood arc to see how jarring it is, I really only remember the storyline out of context, and Wolverine doing his hunter shtick all alone on the Brood planet View attachment 5089934 is 10/10, on top of the X-Men finally "overcoming" their No-Kill rule, View attachment 5089941 and all of the Thing-esque paranoia and mistrust View attachment 5089951 made for great character development.

I don't remember it feeling that jarring at all.
Honestly, the juxtaposition is what makes X-Men IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE always such a fun time. They're typically a superteam so heavily tied to Earth, to humanity, to all the petty prejudices of the world, that there's a real rush in whisking them out of the galaxy entirely and giving them some aliens to fight. It shouldn't really work -- but it does.

Going over the Art previews on Discord and I love the previews of the new art, the only thing I would critique and again it's all about my own personal preference is the non-pov shots. It to me feels off in the game that has all been about Null's pov to see outside his body. especially the ones with the full body shots with head and all. I have a vision of Null in my head and it doesn't go well with a bald guy, no offence Charles.

Great art as always so not critiquing that.

It just to me feels more like I'm watching another person having sex with the love interest then Null after spending all my time in first person up to that specific moment.

EDIT: Just clarification not upset about the inclusion just my random thoughts on it in the morning before work. I'm probably treating it way too much as a game versus a porn game. Sexy images should always win out in the end kind of thing.

Out of curiosity, what's the highest level someone has reached so far without cheating?
Going from 14 to 15 already requires 154k XP. If you make like 362/day with 4 stamina slots, Early Bird+Night Owl and coffee, you already need like 427 days for that.
As long as there won't be additonal XP boosters en masse introduced, you would need like 1.8 mio days going from level 29 to 30. So much about this last level achievement. An achievement for generations.
If the XP_goal calculation stays this way then I'm all for the 50 aps per skill point price as leveling is no way how to gain them in the long run.

It's a massive ramp up. At part way into level 7 I had 4k XP With Jean & Rogue maxed and Laura 550/900 for one save.

After maxing out all girls and spending time just testing out things I was at 7k Xp which funny enough didn't even bring me out of level 7, so take that bring it up to having to go through Chapter 1 five more times to semi simulate 5 chapters and it's at 35k which would bring me to only level 10.

EDIT: I know there will be a slight increase in XP gain after getting enough perks/stamina so IF you unlock the right perks so a better test would be the cheat unlock the perks then grind out chapter 1 again to get a better baseline for the 4 other chapters. But I feel like it would increase the XP for each chapter but it would also increase the speed at which you go through them as well as you would also gain love/trust quicker.

In my current/last session I have 8888/12566 xp at level 8 with only 2 stamina slots with almost any event finished, only missing some sex-related ones.
I also made the bad decision in this session to pick too many perks to maintain the 4.0 GPA for naught instead of patiently wait for the stamina upgrades to pick. This way it will surely take much longer to reach level 10 and further as long as I won't spend my aps to gain additional skill points.

The sum of days required going from 1 to 30 would be like 4.4 mio game days, so maybe a descendant of a player here will reach that in the next century.

I mean, it's okay if designed not to grab all perks and abilities in one playthrough until end of chapter 5 but there still should be a change about the achievements starting with 15 as these high levels aren't reasonably reachable.

Calling it a "thing" is an understatement and I take offence at this misrepresentation of my character to the Rogue Like community.

I'm kinda shocked the Brood storyline is so hated. We're talking the original 80s Brood stuff right? I always thought the X-Men's time in space was quite beloved.

Not denying that, it did have major effects on their characters going forward and the long term consequences of this arc influenced the comics for years to come but it makes sense for why the arc lost its luster in modern times.

Especially important here because it is way too long to adapt for Null hypothesis but it will still apparently happen off screen so Null will have to deal with the fact his friends and lovers had to go through that while he was stuck on earth.

Yeah the X-Men going into space is cool... but not after the fifth time. The storylines in space weren't bad but as mentioned when you look at it chronologically, it can mess with what is supposed to be a linear narrative.

Age of Apocalypse was a fun alternate universe but it put the primary X-Men book on hold for a time.

M'Kraan Crystal Saga

Which takes place in the broader Phoenix Saga and Null will participate in to a degree.

I want it to be clear that the things that need to happen will still happen and Null won't be contrived reasons to never go into space. It's just that if it isn't sexy, doesn't increase your bond with a girl, or doesn't relate to Null as an individual developing... we have no reason to pay the money for a whole lot of unique art for places you're only going to once, maybe twice, and writing a story that has barely any connection to what we're all here for. X-Men Power Fantasy Life-Sim.
