On the whole tattoo thing, nobody said that the girls need to be all tatted up. Like, i can see Jean getting just the heart unde her tit. more so if it were on her wrist.

And honestly, you can't convince me that Goth-girl Rogue and Pain-expert Laura wouldn't get tats. Which or how many, maybe.

I don't recall exactly, it might have been Logan not her, I just vaguely remember the imagery of one of them getting a tattoo and it almost immediately disappearing.

Also, I think Daken has some excuse like special ink was used or he got his before his healing factor kicked in, so his body considers them being there the default state it's supposed to restore him to. Same with some characters who heal fast but still have scars or a missing eye or that kind of thing, if it was there before the powers, it's a keeper.

Most ive seen Laura do in regards to self expression is try on clothes, do her nails, put some mascara and lipstick.

Lol, that'd mean her organism can reproduce ink with the regeneration. Doesn't that mean it'd be able to do the same with any other material as long as it was there before the power awoke? The crazy shit you could pull off with that sounds like a game mechanic more than fantasy biology.

Consider the fact that when Logan gets his hair burnt off, it immediately grows to exactly the length it was, mutton chops but shaved upper lip and chin included. Also, if he gets burnt down to a skeleton and regenerates from his bone marrow, where did the tissue COME from? You have to eat to gain mass, right? Is he pulling meat from another dimension? Healing factors act like they're reloading a save state in a video game, they don't obey the laws of nature at all.

Y'know don't quote me on this, I'm old, I've been reading comics for decades, things fade with time...but I feel like I've even seen a comic establish that Daken does lose his tattoos and just keeps getting them redone, as an excuse for why those dumb tribal designs can't stay consistent.

Aren't Rogue and Jean from the 60's? And wasn't Evo the type of show to consider a skatebording black teen as edgefactor? Also Tats on a girl is a different, tamer kind of edge then what Laura was going for in the early comic runs from my understanding.

Look, I hear you. Im not saying they should have then, but that they now can. I'm saying that our presence in the story opens up more possiblilities for the girls. I mean, how often were they presented with the option in the main comics?

Jean is from '63 and Rogue from '81, but Goth Rogue came from the cartoon X-men Evolution, wich is from 2000, wich features Berzerker showing up with piercings and tats.
And again, literal child prostitute, it doesnt get more edgy than that, so no, it has never been a case of "this is made by vanilla conservatives", its that their characters have never, at any point, had any interest in that, again, you can like it that way, but no, the characters arent meant to have them but werent allowed, to this day of 2025 they still dont show up like that, and if they did it would certanly clash with their ongoing aesthethics of decades.

I think the explanation for Daken is that the ink is made from his blood or something like that.

I never said "this is made by vanilla conservatives" just "made for the widest financially stable common American denominator" which has always been mostly white with a conservative lean. To this day what is considered center left in the US is seen as right leaning by most of the west like here in Europe. Besides, most of the edge that's been presented in superhero media are things that leave no visible marks so they can be written around like it never happened. Sadly both a goth fase and a life of prostituton fall in these ranks. But honestly that's getting well of topic of Rogue's Ass so let's move past that.

I have barely read the comics so I don't know if the girls ever gave their opinions on tattoos. As it currently stands from my understanding I would need to see offical panels of them saying "No tats fo me please" or I'm left assuming they just weren't presented with the option in universe. And as it's a game, I expect our presence in their lives to have some effect. Even if it's them telling me "No tats fo me please".

That you've fallen for them as is great. Combendable even. I'm just saying we now have character interaction possiblilities and find "they didn't then so they shouldn't now" to be limiting and boring.
