We're working on something like this that won't break the immersion of a heavily narrative focused game. If you go through all of a girl's content and break up with her, she would logically want nothing to do with you.

She is aged up. Dude, we legally can't depict her as underaged.

We just gave her curly hair because she's had curly hair in the comics longer than she hasn't and even in modern stuff she's still not the curviest or tallest of X-Men.


This is actually disputed in and out of universe several times. She's factually older than she says she is but no one knows to what degree.

After getting N girls pregnant, Null will discover several huge boxes of condoms in his room, so much it's difficult to move around the room now. One of them has a note taped onto it, in Xavier's handwriting: "USE THEM"

I'm a big fan of party progression/management mechanics (2000s and early 2010s Bioware games come to mind as big influences)
we already have a bunch of ideas, many of them directly and indirectly inspired by the community, for some cool perks for the MC - and it feels like yet another opportunity to reward your relationship building with the game's characters to have them have perks and progression trees as well!
one of the central experiences we want players to have is not only getting to know the X-Men, but becoming a part of the team and (spoiler!) eventually growing into a team leader. molding your team and its members, whether you're in a relationship with them or not, is going to be a key aspect of that experience. core mechanisms for that "party influence" system are already in place in the background, and you can expect more explicit and direct mechanisms to appear in future game versions, like character-specific perks

The relationship Null builds with the girls throughout the course of the game could unlock special perks exclusive to each girl and experimenting with the party composition could give different styles to approaching a combat scenario , the guys should also get their own perk system which will center around their friendship and trust with Null , the closer they are as friends the more perks / upgrades get unlocked

Null should get powerful passives for building up his realtionship with a character , for example if he is very close with Laura he gets a passive where his regen works even better than before and his agility and durability in combat gets a massive boost whereas if he is close to Rogue he gets a boost to his energy syphoning aura with it's distance increasing to a larger radius and a higher duartion , at the max you can have 5 passives active and you will need to have that corresponding character in your party to gain those benefits

Ik implementing things like this will take a LOT of work but i think in the long run it will make the game more fun and engaging as well as rewarding for those who love the social sim aspects and for the folks who just wanna have a quick fap ... this ain't the game for you , move along

In the meanwhile, Midnight Suns. And even if this game doesn't become 'Null's Sugar Service' and stays as 'The Null Red String'... Midnight Suns seems pretty good.

I keep saying, X-men Persona, that would also give you a reason for the buddy hangouts, besides, imagine all the cool combos you could make with characters, id love to see Piotr and Laura pull out a fastball special.
Just a turn based RPG combat would work awesome.

Sorry if I was not being clear, by superhero element I meant presence of actual superheroes from comics or cartoons, like this one. But I will try out the one you suggested.
Theres something unlimited for DC i guess, oh, and Doomination.

If the dev team decides to not implement story and gameplay segregation and try to take into account all the possible levels of relationships Null can have with all the various characters and character combinations then that is going to be SUCH a ball ache to integrate with the story.

My head hurts after trying to catch up on the last few pages. Peeps need to chill and let the creative team cook.

Also, got bored and calculated all the potential PAIRS of dynamics between girls-

Apparently, considering pairs of girls with 15 girls total, there would be...

105 unique character dynamics in terms of just the girls interacting 1 on 1 with each other.

I'm not bored enough to try and figure out all the possible trios, quartets, etc. for all the girls-

But considering all the random and character specific "greeting" lines when girls happen to be in the same place or talk to each other-

Just writing the non-specific and "not special" character dynamics sounds like it'd be...A LOT.

On top of the fact that for polycule to work, every girl is gonna end up being at least friends with every other girl-

I'm starting to see why I've heard polyamorous people be considered the "nerds of relationships", because that's A LOT going on for everyone's schedules to line up-
I simultaneously envy and also pity Shiny and the rest of creative...living the dream of writing what you want...while also having to deal with...actually writing it. :KEK:

SO MUCH DIALOGUE IS GOING TO BE WRITTEN FOR THIS GAME, and that's not even considering unique character interactions, mono-specific interactions, OR THE MAIN PLOT.

I now see why the game has more people dedicated to being writers than any other creative position in the credits. As soon as my writer's brain switched on and started crunching the numbers of all the arcs within arcs, and slice of life events in this game-

Some of which will also be dedicated to the bro characters-

My brain started collapsing under the sheer density of text that this game is gonna reach one day.
Oh yeah, once we start getting to chapter 3/late chapter 2, we're going to be working on ludicrous amounts of dialogue and scenes for each update. We're still in the planning stage for the first part of chapter 2, but from the discussions we've had so far, it doesn't take a genius to work out we're going to very quickly get to the point where each season is going to be at least as big as chapter 1 in its entirety, and it's only going to get exponentially bigger from there.
Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to see a combat system like this where story and gameplay is integrated as well as this but it will make the task ahead for the writing team look almost sisyphean in nature.
