If by "progress" you mean the side quests, you don't necessarily have to do them all - pragmatically speaking, they cut down on grinding for trust and love points. So, if by "progress" you mean having the required threshold of love and trust points for polygamy, sleep alone in your own bed a few times, and Rogue's and Laura's dialogue leading up to being able to have sex with them should trigger one after another.
I also forgot "Rogue is mad at me for flirting with another girl" but I was probably subconsciously blocking that one out.
