It follows the comics, Kurt cannot NOT be Raven's son, and Rogue already dropped hints about her family.

Mystique is Kurt's estranged biological parent. She also adopted Rogue after her powers manifested and she ran away from home, so they're not genetically related, but...

There's already hints that it's gonna be how it is in the game - the interactions with Rogue where she alludes to arguing with a family member on the phone are probably about said family member being a certain supervillain who wants her to spy on Xavier or sabotage the school or something.

Well just let my smooth brain and horny ass wait for the obvious reveal. Rogue's ass is less subtle than Rogue's lore.

Edit: I mean, it really has been over six months since I've done a proper playthough and forgot about that detail; especially since I'm the guy who goes wacky woohoo pizza man with Photoshop and edging for armpit hair.

Seriously, unless Boots wrote something about Rogue and Kurt being related, their "canon" relationship or whatever that's outside of TNH's lore doesn't mean much to me.

In the comic books, Rogue is Mystique's adopted daughter.

Absolutely heartbroken that this is pretty much precisely what I want from a comic tie-in game where you get an actual plot and characters with depth and dynamics between them, but also no FeMC. Great game, I'm not knocking it, but like god damn it's so hard to find quality WLW games.

Also curious, has it been discussed much how adding new love interests to the next year is gonna go? Do Rogue, Laura and Jean take a backseat gameplay wise to incorporate the new set, or is the cast simply going to grow over time?

We REALLY wanted to include a female protagonist but we had to be realistic.

We would basically be making two different games.

Also curious, has it been discussed much how adding new love interests to the next year is gonna go? Do Rogue, Laura and Jean take a backseat gameplay wise to incorporate the new set, or is the cast simply going to grow over time?

They'll have their own plots as well as tie into the new girls.

Jean is besties with Storm in the comics.

Laura is a Dazzler fan.

Rogue and Dazzler have beef.

X-Men has been really competent at ensemble casts so we won't be lacking for content or inspiration.

In any case, a female Null will probably be something that'll only happen once everything is basically completed for male Null anyway, if it ever happens at all.

It'll probably hugely depend on the level of support female Null receives as to just more content for male Null, I guess we'll just have to see what happens in the future.

Huh, so she's an actual fan instead of just wearing her T-Shirt and getting mistaken for one then. Though it's perfectly reasonable for Laura to not be aware of Dazzler on their first meeting and then become a fan of hers later on.

I wonder if it'll be a one-sided rivalry like the community is assuming it would be.

We've said before, but when new characters are introduced, the bulk of the new content will be for them, in order to get them established and show what they're about, but the older characters won't be overlooked just because there's someone new to play with, and they'll get new scenes and interactions with future updates: chapter 2 is covering the Dark Phoenix Saga, and that mean's Jean is going to be front and center of a lot of what will be going on, for example. And we've all had that thing where we're playing a game where we have our favourite girl, but she gets less and less content, because the devs keep adding new characters and forgetting the older ones. It's annoying and it sucks, and, besides all that, we on the team like these characters outside of the game and want to do it all some kind of justice.

All of which is a lot of words to say, we don't intend to let anyone be forgotten or ignored as the story progresses. We've got long-term plans for everyone.
