So I don't know much about X Men, but I'm surprised that there is no mention of Kitty Pryde, Mystique and Emma frost, especially since Emma got a huge boost in popularity after appearing in marvel rivals.

What are you talking about? chapter 2 is all about Kitty, Emma and Dazzler, since the 3 get introduced in the same arc in the comics.
Also, Mystique has been implied, you just have to know to catch it.

In the end, if at 16 (or 14) a person can be sent in jail, have a job or be sent in war (The X-men go to actual war and actually risk their lives), then he or she should have the right and responsibility to have sex with a consenting partner.
