Also, Claremont-era Charles was still likeable despite his flaws; he genuinely tried to make up for his mistakes when he screwed up and actually experienced character development. You could see why the X-Men followed him even when they argued with him.

Headpatting is a universal sign of affection and it is widespread in numerous communities though especially in the BDSM community(Or at least the ones I am part of) where it is used as an innocent, sign of affection for both Doms and subs, though some doms find them a bit strange to be on the recieving end of. it's NOT that bad. On a personal note I have never met someone who hates them. Personally I love giving headpats because its NICE to run your fingers through something and I am told it can be better than a head massage for calming down from the highs/lows that naturally occur during your average play session.
