Why not? Laura is very cat-like in nearly every sense of the phrase. It makes perfect sense.

Edit: Okay. I know that my example is a goth girl, but hear me out:

Give Laura the cat ears, bell choker, and the cat tail anal plug.
3 step plan is this:

Step 1: The bell. You tell her it's a stealth challenge. To hone your newly enhanced senses. Let her choose what you do to for her as a reward for successfully tracking her.

Step 2: Get her the ears. Playfully tell her it's to see what she would look like if she did have ears that match her hearing. Less conspicuous then rabbit ears and 3 times cooler.

You play a dangerous game, tbh.

Because you asked and she loves you? If it's a good enough reason for Big Sis Jean, it's good enough for Godde-, I mean Momm-... Storm. Also she could like how it turns you on, like Laura does.
Personally, I don't want Storm to call me "Daddy," but "Papi" clicked for me faster because of her accent in the majority of the media I've seen her in. I'd be fine if it were something like "Darling" or "Lover" but they just seem so boring. Her saying "my Lion" may fit her more than "Papi", admittedly.

Hey man, you gotta make use of their unique origins, you gotta exploit the fact that shes african for some uniqueness, thats like giving us Illyana and not giving her a thick russian accent.

That was Nyanners...
That would explain why the vulgarity was higher than usual.

I love this meme.

Y'all forgetting that there's a Latina in the X-Men?

Yeah that's a fast track to racial stereotyping and cultural offensiveness.

The line between charming and fetishizing is very thin and we want to put our best into it.

True, I'm sure the writers will find something that rides the line where it feels more endearing than insulting.

Could null be her sweet baboon?

I am a long time lurker to this thread, it is enjoyable to read the memes and the theorizing, and when I saw this guy get brought up I felt I had to share my crazy theory. Firstly I partly obtained this because I have been (very slowly) reading through the X-Men comics using the guide linked from here, thanks for that by the way, and in doing so I came up with this theory. But I shall share my crazy conspiracy board with you all if you want to read it.

Now a smaller theory, but I think Jean's campus sibling quirk is something she picked up from Ted Roberts who played a similar mentor role for her at Metro, and who now that I think about it shares a little something with a member of the dev team, wait could it be!?!

What?

Im not talking about race here, im talking about their origins, Ororo grew up in Cairo, she didnt leave the place until she was 14, like it or not thats her cultural upbringing.
This isnt a case like Jubilee that while being chinese, she grew up in america so she wouldnt know jack about china, Ororo is in every sense of the word african and had it not been for Xavier, she would have kept to larping as weather godess in sub saharan africa, walking around with her tatas out and looking like the cover of an old national geographic magazine.

Now thats an interesting theory and im glad to hear someone else has given the comics a try.

Id like to argue it further, but until we get more clues as to whats up with the boy, i cant refute or support most of the things you said.
