I'm sorry about that but I'm only a single dev holding a full-time job alongside the project. I know from experience how projects like that go and I prefer to keep the timeline realistic.
Should I ever be able to focus solely on the game, thanks to the generosity of the community, the roadmap will get bigger and more ambitious tho ^^

Nothing to be apologetic about, it's an acknowledgement about the reality of it, ye. All well and good though. It goes to figure a solo dev has a timeline for it but I do sincerely wish the best. I would advise knocking out a mechanic in a day just to see how that might go but that's just my suggestion. The slow crawl towards completion of games taking years is a pretty extensive timeline, but at the very least I'd ask a pixel artist & coder for assistance when able to in the future to speed it along.
