Do you think the game will be released in 5 years?
I don't think so! Have you ever heard of a perpetuum mobile? It might not work in physics but it can be applied to human spending.

If you could milk Patreon subscribers for their hard earned cash while doing the bare minimum, would you ever finish a project?

Look around, Project Helious (Fallen Doll), Delta Zone, Yuna. These projects will either be abandoned or still in developement for over 10 years. They aren't rushing, they are excusing themselves for the maximum ammount of time, while providing the most vague deadlines and information.

These are the kind of people that chill on the toilet at work and are paid for shitting 7 hours weekly.

I agree with everything you said and want to add that coming up with a new idea is hard and as you've pointed, the incentive isn't there for it when a guy might lose a guaranteed revenue stream. Hell, even major corporations are afraid to try new things which is why almost every movie and game is recycled IP. I'm afraid the "best" we'll get is when they(Patreon creators) remake their old game like is happening with Barbarian. But they will never get finished.

Parasites is masterpiece if compared to Delta Zone or Yuna. Patreon is for supporting creators, not buying products. It's not steam. In theory, you see some project that you like, is unique and dev has some vision around it, and you decide to support. I think parasites is really ok in that reagard. Developer does not lie about NSFW stuff, but is being honest by saying he will never focus on that. And also this game has demo. Really, the parasites is the last patreon funded game that I would shit on. It have unique gameplay, very deep and completed mechanics, and on many levels, deleoper has kept his promises and delivered. And i Don't really like this game, but I see vision, work put in it, and how it is unique. Comparing this do DZ is disgrace, since it's everything that DZ is not.

We are on The Parasites thread comparing projects like Project Helious (Fallen Doll), Delta Zone, Yuna.
Fallen Doll - earns somewhere around 100k per month for a long time.
The Parasites - ~50k per month not for so long.
Delta Zone - at peak earned somewhere around 10k - 15k per month.
and Yuna - 3k per month.

It have unique gameplay, very deep and completed mechanics, and on many levels
It's literally a half-baked clone of The Forest/SotF games with female MC and one masturbation animation.

I played both The Forest (great game) and SotF (which for me is by far worse on everything), it sure got some inspiration from those but this one is unique in its way, has great animations, has charisma and good gameplay. There are bugs yeah but nothing gamebreaker.

The Forest took a lot of years from a solo developer before it went out, i remember playing the EA 10 years ago, and was full of bugs and raw at best. This has great potential, the last update took a while but put a lot of new map places and points of interests (although empty, but ready for content), many functionalities and even some npc + animation. Everything done by a single persone. If you think about:

- project helius: big team, small updates with no gameplay, only animations, cash gacha grab
- delta zone: what are we talking about? it's a bug mess i don't consider it a game
- yuna: nice concept but far from having the same vision and charisma

the parasites is on another level and has great opportunity to become a solid game.

That's said, being from a solo indie developer, everything could happen! I thank him for the work he put and if it will ever see a final release i'll support him buying the game.

When I've been talking about these projects I've just pointed out on a difference between resources available. It shouldn’t be ignored when considering what to expect from updates on each project. It's funny to see Yuna in the list I've replied to with 3k per month, when there are projects that have much higher income and exist for much longer (wildlife, erokin, pure onix, summertime saga, etc) yet updates for these game are rare as fuck and changelog is the only place where the changes can be observed (fixes, tweaks, some icons eddited) +1 new animation.

Not sure if the Dev reads this (or checks F95 at all), but I'd like to echo some posts above and say that this is a really, really well made game.
I think people can judge graphics, movement, textures, weather, crafting, building & the survival mechanics on their own, but there are some minor details that really show that the Dev is putting a lot of care into it.

Very minor example, but if you fully undress Anna, she's fine if your camera (you, the "parasite") is behind her - but if you swing the camera around, she quickly covers up. Heck, I've noticed she sometimes even dresses herself if I stick her clothes in the backpack, it's insane level of detail and RP here, I've seen no other game do this recently. It's not even 4th wall breaking, it's literally the game lore.

I'll bonk a review in soon (I wanna see a bit more, try more things), but so far, this one kinda feels like it deserves a couple bucks on Patreon (idk about monthly, but every couple major releases if the Dev doesn't lose interest). I sincerely hope he doesn't, he's making something pretty damn good, porn aside.

Don't know about your GPU.

If you have:

4 GB VRAM → 4096-5122
6 GB VRAM → 6144
8 GB VRAM → 8192
12 GB+ → 10240

r.Streaming.PoolSize=<value>

You have to make a Engine.ini, can be found in %LOCALAPPDATA%\TheParasites\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\.

Open Engine.ini, and add this line:

Code:
[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
r.Streaming.PoolSize=4096 ;for 4GB GPU
If still slow:

Code:
r.TextureStreaming=1
r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=0
r.Streaming.DefragDynamicBounds=1
r.Streaming.PoolSize=4096
r.VT.MaxUploadsPerFrame – very relevant in UE5. This is the Virtual Texturing upload limit!
Usually 8 or 16, which is open-world and, if it is still delayed:
Code:
r.VT.MaxUploadsPerFrame=24
Final conclusion:

Code:
r.Streaming.PoolSize=4096 ;if you have 4GB GPU
r.VT.MaxUploadsPerFrame=32 ;32 or 48
r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=0 ;unlimited
After you finished the *.ini edit, save it and set it read only. Check in-game, try set the texture to high. Restart the game after!

Nice day!

No. And that isn't planned, dev isn't into monster fucking.
Honestly, by the time a beta version or an update for this game comes out, GTV 6 will already be available. The developer is very slow, and everybody is saying "don't blame him, he is working alone", I've seen many developers working alone who have made very good games in a short time.

It seems like a pretty plan on paper, but its dumb in reality. It's true that milking Patreons is an easier way to make money, but in the long run the dev will only destroy his own reputation and make it difficult to acquire funds in the future. He better be honest and deliver a decent product and if he wants to continue making money from patrons he can simply start a new project or announce an expansion. If he gets a good reputation from this game, the next one will allow him to earn infinitely more.

2 files from AppData\Local\TheParasites\Saved\SaveGames here copy and paste/replace them in that folder
Is this what you wanted?
"C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Local\TheParasites\Saved\SaveGames\TPS_CharacterCustomazationPresets.sav"

View attachment 5239593
Edit: The only way I can make it work on a new install is to select the continue option at the start of the game and not ever enter the body customization for a new game using this as the SaveGame folder, sorry for the confusion
"C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Local\TheParasites\Saved\SaveGames"

If you want to make something you will actually like as a character, it would be better to use the CheatEngine method tho
Could you share preset once again? Link doesn't work
