lol, this is just lol, a gold mine.. I should do the same, start a project, do an alpha demo which good mechs and then I can drop my regular job... and milk rich people for years...
A lot of devs think this and then 2-3 updates in they realize they are in way over their heads and quit. The most important part of game making in this space is being consistent with your updates. The second most important thing is listening to feedback and implementing change when necessary. A lot of devs are hardheaded and get really mad if you criticize their game, but if you are someone who can't read the room and see that it's not just one guy being an asshole picking on you about one feature, but numerous people all saying the same thing, you might not even get off the ground. If you can nail those two things and maintain momentum the sky is the limit as to how far you can go.

Well... I don't fully agree about the feedback, you cannot satisfy eveyrone, that is basically impossible. In my humble opinion, the most important thing is to have a plan and know what you want to do (assuming you have all the skills and knowledge needed to develop a game). A complete vision of the game. Which sadly in most of those projects is not true. From my point of view, people develop those games "on the fly", which is one of the reasons why so many projects never ends...

There are several youtubers that play the game pretty regularly and put out videos and live streams. Disassociate, Seargent Kelvin and Feathered Rogue seem to be the most active, but there are many more that have made videos for it within the last 3 months. The survival genre is pretty popular and has a lot of roleplaying potential, which can be a big draw for some people. The only problem with such rapid growth in popularity is when you can't keep up with the hype people tend to fall off fast. This happened with Valheim, The Mist and Sons of The Forest. Those games gained massive amounts of hype and the small dev teams couldn't get updates out fast enough and people moved ended up moving on pretty quickly.
I mean the game has been worked on for about 5 years now, pretty surprising it blew up that much just 4 months ago. But thanks for your answer.

Holy shit, is this real? I've never seen such a fast revenue growth from a patreon game. Did a big youtuber played the game or what? If he's still working alone I hope he'll hire some people to help on the project.
Not 1, but MANY Big YT channel, plaied it and "sponsored it" (not sponsored like, beeing paied to do it...) they just tested it, and did a review of the DEMO...
And when i say MANY, i mean... like... 10/15 BIG channel did basically on the same time (why? who knows... conicidence...?)
Anyway... the patreon got TONS of New member in a super short time, and yes.... There he goes... from a around 2k a month, to a Blast of 30k+, and you know what? it will keep grow... since there are a lot of BIG news in coming... like a news map, new enemies, new Movement action, new kind of combo, steath, climing rocks... and many many more shit in coming in the next few patches...

SO.......... YES.
It's finally getting the attention it deserved from the beginning....

Immagine how the dev can feel, after 4 years of struggle... finally he is getting the attention he always wanted to get and deserved,
Personally, im super happy cuz i always supported this project from the beginning, i knew it was going to be big sooner or later.
Now that the money are coming in like the raining water, he can finally focus all his energy on the project!

Super happy about him, super happy for the project too.
Cant wait to see how it will improve! <3

Anyone knows how to remove wires?
I placed some lamps and poles and connected them to the windmill, it looked like shit so i tried to correct the placements. Unfortunately the wires just stick in the air and i have no idea how to remove them

As far as I know from what I've read on the Steam forum, HE is a SHE. which makes the game and the realization even more interesting.

I was on the official discord when I wrote my first post to see if the dev was sharing more about the game than on other platforms, and it seemed to be a "he" for me. Not that I care or that it matters imo.

Sgt Kelvin, and a few others, play it pretty often on live streams and playthroughs.

I would say HE or SHE doesn't matter so much.. in the web people could write anything not referenced to reality..

but the game is not bad for initial versions of releases, and has a good template for huge project, but the time show us how big the project would be.

There is something seriously wrong with this game's graphics settings. Sometimes i have 40 - 70fps, yet now i have 120 fps at max settings. Maybe there is something wrong in the world causing lag or bad optimization.

Only time I've noticed lag is in or near the emission zones.
Oops, wrong game :KEK:

I found an item in a suitcase called Palette that allows you to change hair style and color if anyone is interested.

Dev rant #2 - Survival mode: Life
News - 30 may
Hey everyone,
Patreon has become, at least for me, more than just a place where people support the project - it’s also turned into a space where I can be real.
Not just as a developer, but as a person.
Or at least, that’s how it feels to me.
Thanks for being the kind of people I feel safe being real with.
Unfortunately, there won’t be an update this month.
To put it simply - I just wasn’t in the right state to work.
I went through a very difficult breakup with someone I deeply cared about.
It had probably been building for a while, but this month everything collapsed.
I needed time to crawl out of that quiet, chaotic space inside myself.
The good news is: I’m feeling better.
I’m sleeping again, back in my bed instead of the couch.
Bit by bit, I’ve started putting myself back together - moving forward, living, growing.
And slowly, I’ve been returning to working on the project too.
What I’ve been working on (and will continue after recovery):
  • Upper part of the map - the starting zone, including a safe area with survivors’ base, traders, and quest-givers
  • Working on the lore and slowly bringing it into the gameplay
  • UI overhaul
  • Carrying bodies and looting them
  • Reworking backpacks and pockets - no more “backpack in backpack” stacking: containers now have a carry weight limit
  • Entity system rework - local currency and character progression tied to it
  • Parasitic Network - with its own rules and logic; each infected creature has a purpose in the world
  • From a lore perspective, I plan to add a new need, to pee. (I know that for many this is a fetish, I think you will be happy about this) {No poop}
  • New animations
  • Traders
I’m not going to make promises about when the next update will come.
Right now, I need to get back to full strength - mentally and physically.
Just a few days ago, after my annual check-up, I was told I need two surgeries.
So for about two weeks after that, I’ll likely be out of action.
But please know: I’m still here, and still working - even if silently, even if in my own rhythm.
Thank you for your patience, support, and belief in this project.
You are my anchor.
P.S. If you’ve been through something similar - a rough breakup, difficult relationships, or just a hard time in life - feel free to share a few words in the comments, if you feel like it.
I can’t promise I’ll be able to reply to everyone or say anything helpful - but I’ll read it.
And maybe, just maybe, someone will feel a little less alone because of it.
