I played a long time ago I think with translation it was not yet complete but the game works 100% in joiplay I recommend you go to the official discord and asks what is happening with your game

Thanks for letting me know. Turns out there's some issue with the newer version of Joiplay/rpgm plugin. I installed v1.10 and the game's working now.

It is decent compared to other things. This isn't MTL or something like that, it is Kagura's version so if the one you played opened with the Kagura logo, it is going to be the same. If not, then it was probably a fan or MTL translation and this should be better.

More coherent? Yes. Better? Debatable.
I can't get a hold of the previous translation on here, so I can't say for sure.

The Kagura translation is technically better as far as the writing itself goes, but is a much worse translation sadly. They just replaced the actual personalities of the men in the town with generic rapist antagonists.
