After reading a few other comments before the someone posted the new update. I think the biggest issue with all devs is they begin to make a game for fun, and as a hobby. Problems then start to arise due public funding, then it becomes like another side job to them, they don't take into account how much work goes into making a game deep into development! And the problems only get worse if the Dev is also the artist, most time the devs have to hire an artist(s) to fill in cg's, having to do the art work and the storyline only piles up.
The issues only get worse if the dev is pulling in major money, and then has to put up with people bitching and complaining, 'why isn't this, done that way', 'what if you added this' - 'I like the game but I'm not going to play it since you wont use suggestions' Again then it becomes a side job and its no longer a hobby, thats been the death of many games regardless of the engine platform!
It been pretty standard with RPGM to write out a storyline, quests, characters, ect, and add some teaser cg's if possible, the goal is to get the game done then go back and fill out in the cg scenes.
With this dev I get the sense he or she doesn't give a shit anymore, but wants to make it appear as if development is going on, meanwhile they're continue to leech the funding into their personal lives on not on game development.
