Thanks for the update and good to hear you are still crunching at the code. It can be interesting that's for sure, as I have peeked into a few other game's coding just to see what's involved and I can appreciate the work and time devs put into their projects. Thanks for asking. Working through the coding, slowly. Been averaging about 2 new versions a week, with each one showing decent progress. At some point, I'm going to have to figure out where to find public-domain sound files for things like smacks and moans; if you have any info on that I'd appreciate it.
Of course, as a training game, once everything works, then we get to the part where we try to find the balance between too easy and too much of a grind; but I'll be very happy when we finally get there.
I'm just about ready to give up. I've thrown a bunch of money down the drain to get someone who knows Ren'py to program it, and none of them have come through. The only conclusion I can reach is the problem is the script itself is fouled up and impossible to interpret, and I am out of patience for trying to fix it. I'm sorry, and disappointed, and I feel bad for people who've been so supportive. I was so fucking excited about this project--two and half years ago.Hows it going?
Wow. That's the first I've heard of this! I have no idea.Is anyone else getting this issue with the game as well?
I totally get the demoralization, and I appreciate you for what you have made. But if you ever do find yourself feeling the urge to create again, I think it would be great to do - the world needs more developers!Wow. That's the first I've heard of this! I have no idea.
A very kind soul is now helping me with the coding, and it is possible that the first chapter will actually be released; I hope that whatever caused this problem also goes away. Even if we do manage to get the first chapter done, it is unlikely I will continue with the game--I'm too demoralized at this point. I bit off more than I could chew, I think, for a first time dev who doesn't do his own artwork or programming. But to quote Peter Cook & Dudley Moore, "I have learned from my mistakes, and I am certain I can repeat them exactly."
You are very kind to say so, thank you! In fact, I've completed another script, a more standard (if short) VN. But I expect it to be a while before I find an artist willing to put in the work for shares.I totally get the demoralization, and I appreciate you for what you have made. But if you ever do find yourself feeling the urge to create again, I think it would be great to do - the world needs more developers!
