Because all updates require that someone notify the staff that there's an update. You can do it too, just report your own post. The very first option is "Game Update"
I'm shocked they're still working on this game with basically zero support. I know we shouldn't expect regular updates due to that though. They have the right of getting things done whenever they want as it stands right now.
