Yeah, being put into a lying position automatically is a bit contrived; they needed the conflict to get some drama, so I get it. Would really like to have an option (even if with high requirements) where you can tell her, but it's alright.I chose that one too - If only because you can't go breaking the current ruler's alliances on a whim. I just wish it had been put differently so you could just straight up tell Leyala what you were going to do instead of lying to her about it.
There are many reasons to go for the demons route, imo. The witches on the other hand...
