I guess the easiest way for me to phrase this is just to be rather blunt; I think this game needs to have the 'kinetic novel' tag.
While the writing itself is generally very well done, I found myself attempting to basically speedrun the game because I kept searching for a point in the game where I, as the 'player', had some actual agency over 'my characters' choices. Yes, yes, you can choose between elemental training and martial training, and between seduction or persuasion, but mechanically they seem to make virtually zero difference. Either way, both paths lead to you playing a game with with some boys a few pages later, where, win or lose your character is going to get sexual with them both, even if you choose the option to deny them both. Then, a few pages beyond that, and 'your character' is going to get literally fucked by Eros. You have zero agency with this. The games tags include 'lesbian', but you don't have enough agency over your own character to not worship cocks. Maybe, I want to play as a full fledged lesbian who only seduces men to manipulate them into getting what I want. Your character, your.. avatar in this game, that's actually more of a novel, doesn't have that option. She's going to get dicked down, and from what I've seen so far, it seems like no matter what she's going to 'love it'. As I said, maybe I want to only be willing to suck a guys dick, and that I'm only willing to do that so I can manipulate and control them by getting them to think with their smaller head, rather than thinking rationally. While keeping my body only for fellow women, with copious amounts of tribbing.
As I stated above, the writing is pretty good. But, it feels less like a 'game', and more like a CYOA book with extremely limited and often meaningless choices that lead to the same result regardless of what you choose. Case in point, the 'trials' scene. There's even a dev note to 'save just in case you need to try again'. There's really no 'rolls' or 'skill checks' during these 'events', just a single 'correct path' or basically get sent back to the beginning. But, you can't choose the 'seduction' options, because no matter what your previous gameplay choices, you will still always fail.
The story is very well done so far, however.. that's all this seems to be; a story. If you're just looking for a good read, artistically this has you covered in spades. But, if you're looking to immerse yourself and have the ability actually shape the life of the character you're playing by the choices you choose to make as a player, this 'game' is rather lacking.
It's good work, but I felt more like I was a passenger simply watching someone else have an adventurer, rather than controlling that adventurers choices myself.
