if i dont misremember the boss, as long as you have a move skill it should be fine, even if it is a low one
I did all the bosses in pre-release version and did the first two again on new save today. General advice is to return with the bell before the boss room for several runs to accumulate souls for upgrades. Also stock up on healing potions and potions that reduce erosion. Before attempting a boss run do a manual save and grab all the healing and erosion potions you have. Generally you want a weapon that has attacks that move you, so you can dodge from boss. Slowly grind away boss' health but make dodging a priority, use healing potions as needed, if you get overwhelmed by mob enemies - use erosion skills but keep erosion in check with potions.
Today I got reminded how painful and unfun bosses in this game are, but they are doable with enough preparation.

Not really. Again, you can kinda bruteforce it with enough healing potions. It's the third one you should be worried about. Latter bosses fight you in more open spaces so you are required to have both the mobility to keep up with them and damage to take them down on the move.

I am legitimately more excited for this than any non-porn game this year
The only enemy I didn't encounter before is the Reaper, she seems new and must be the only new addition judging by character slots in gallery and arena. Dunno how much new scenes are there for companions since I haven't finished the game yet.

Update for version 1.01R
There is a bug if you tried to forge using the weapon essence. I playtested it some more and ores with + rarity also crashes your game. Don't worry about losing progress thanks to the emergency save.
