Well, this is one of those 'defeat rape' type of game, so unless you're doing it purposely or simply have bad RNG you normally won't see the H-animations outside the gallery. Same with unlocking the campgirls H-animations where you need to get defeated with maximum corruption few times to unlock and then come back with high corruption(80+) to even see the alternative positions or the demon queen where you need to clear the special arena.
Good thing you won't have to lose on purpose considering the game's difficulty lol

My game has broken after the Throne Room...
(Casual difficulty)

Beat the boss in Throne Room, went back to base, cutscenes yadda yadda.
First time I teleport back to Throne Room all good. Go through the portal to Depths.
Make progress in Depths, eventually return to base.

Now whenever I teleport back to Throne Room to continue, my HP is basically halved and I'm getting butt whooped by everything. Nothing has changed, so in theory I should actually be stronger than when I ran through Depths the first time...

Anyone else having this issue? The game is quite unwinnable now.

I think this game leans towards the "game" part more than "H" in H-Game, similar to Blacksouls 1-2.
If purpose is to give big grindfest, to be difficult game - yes, Shimmering Horizon does give that part. Really gives. Roguelike grindfest that requires preparations for hours, to drop rare goods AND to finish each boss with limited amount of goods. Kind of reminds "Mistover", but it's RPG Maker here. Being hard has a purpose, otherwise game will lose one of its points. You're just some blacksmith who has to explore dungeon and progress through, dealing with everything this messed up world throws at you - and there's enough people who play games like Dark Souls series for this feeling. And if someone wants casual experience - devs buffed casual difficulty again, so players can choose to do it easy way. This one is especially good for "H" enjoyers - those look very juicy in this game, as well as voiced.

Can't quite compare to Blacksouls series yet, because don't know lore/story behind Shimmering Horizon (still far from finish + wanna wait for possible patches).

Oh, trust me, the ending is worth it, but i wont talk about it yet since i assume most people here haven't finished the game yet. Most of the lore comes from the Journal and reading memories.

I heard that 1.03 came out?
1.03 came out but what they did to the 3rd boss also made some gamebreaking bug, so for all intents and purposes they reverted it back to 1.02.

"

In this update, we focused on increasing the chance of items appearing. This is to encourage players to try crafting more weapons, use Skills and more against hordes of enemies.
On the other hand, we tried some adjustments on every ones' least favorite boss in Chapter 3, as well as restricting the number of enemies on specific areas and some more difficulty tweaks.
More balance changes are on the way, and we'll keep tracking if there are any game-breaking bugs. Thank you!

Note: About 6 hours ago, we released v1.03 early. After discovering a game-disrupting bug, we immediately return the game back to v1.02.
The bug is now identified and fixed. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

"

As you can see, he indeed acknowledged the problem of latter stage being a pure clusterfuck of enemies.

That was rough... Tried going into the 2nd boss blind (no guide) and got bogged down (stalled out, ran out of resources/ bled out/ overwhelmed) with the length of the fight. I had a variety of weapons (the vamp one for lifesteal/ summon, AOE weapon skill that also has another jump skill, other weapons). First "phases" of the fight was figuring out the mechanics, hit the legs, avoid aoes, kill the mob summons, evade the body slam, hit head. When the head first dropped IDK that it was the weakpoint so I wasted that damage opportunity. Then the next time the head dropped I managed to deal some damage, dying here and there due to running out of SP/HP and whatnot. By the 4th time the head dropped I tried bursting it down while "throwing" all my items/weapons and it was not enough, eventually I got overwhelmed/grinded down (no more resources) by the repeating mob spawns.

Yeah I think I'll play again after some other time lol, that was demoralizing. This is on standard (normal) difficulty. The fight is actually pretty simple (once you figure out the mechanics) but it's hard to "1st try" a boss without knowing what the mechanics will be since you'll likely be "ground down" by the boss without the specific tools to deal with it (managed to 1st try the 1st boss due to the respawning focus potions). Like the second boss would demolish you if you have no way of "quick movement abilities" (yes you have a default one when you have no weapon equipped but it takes a turn to change weapons, thus to use that skill you will use 2 turns, and 3 turns to swap back to your main weapon)

It's like some other people stated here that you need to have a "boss run" with GOOD weapons that deals with the boss mechanics/ weakness in order to have a decent chance of winning (or with a shit ton of healing/consumables). The most frustrating part is the inventory space lol. I have no problems with weapons being made of glass and breaking so quickly (that's the intended gameplay, forge and repeat). But the inventory limit/backpack weight is so SMALL that you are extremely limited in what weapons you can bring (subpar weapons will only cost backpack weight and it will be better to have higher quality/better weapons to maximize backpack storage) and the consumables you can bring. I had to keep using enhance on the weapons just in order to pick up new ores/ consumables). Such as this boss is weak to "explosives" (as others have posted here).

When I was reading some comments here about the 3rd boss spawning lots of mobs, I thought the 2nd boss would be a breeze (yes maybe the 3rd boss is harder than the 2nd boss but I haven't reached there yet), yet the 2nd boss also spams spawns mobs every here and there (while using the wide range body drop, or the tracking blasts).

So yeah the intended gameplay experience in the higher floors of bosses is "highly likely lose once-a few times" figure out it's mechanics, counter it (unless you read up on guides on what the bosses do). It would've been nice if the bosses have health bars so you know if the boss is near death/ you barely did any damage (but alas the game is already 1.0 and that's not happening).

i think now i can summarize the game as

1. Forge the highest enchantment weapon as secondary for boss fight later
2. only enchant the boss weapon with magic +8 or more materials or the highest magic base
3. if you found a best AOE skill weapon, break it and give it's scrap to enchant accessory (doesn't matter with level if hate to spend more time grinding, you get the most efficient but still, the grind might not worth your time.)
4. And for primary weapon you might need a lot of it but important to enchant it full ASAP since it gives it's peak damage and durability
5. important to unequip your best accessory when you about to tank hits since it will reduce it's durability
6. my most hated part is the traps, you either got erosion down or worst it rises, so to be careful on that you must attack floor every time you enter the square, rising perception can fool you since it's not 100%, perception potion is limited, so hit the floor while being shot by archers or worse you got knocked and land on the worst spot.

iirc if you store soul drops the chance for it to drop more in dungeon will be reduced, so hoarding it is ill advised.

also the base elements of forge materials are mass, tenacity, magic:

Mass are best for high rank weapon to forge, not much important for enchantment since it only increases base damage
Tenacity are best for high rank too, but for enchantment it rises durability
Magic are best for elemental rank weapon to forge, it's great to enchant it to your weapon + more elements of magic the stronger.

3. if you found a best AOE skill weapon, break it and give it's scrap to enchant accessory (doesn't matter with level if hate to spend more time grinding, you get the most efficient but still, the grind might not worth your time.)
The problem with AOE skill weapons is the Damage tends to be Elemental so even if you put the skill on the accessory you still need to purpose build a elemental weapon with that damage, at that point you can just craft the same weapon for higher skill.
Only put it on an accessory if you can't reliably craft the same weapon since that skill will eventually disappear anyway when it gets scrapped and does not have Skill Levels.

4. And for primary weapon you might need a lot of it but important to enchant it full ASAP since it gives it's peak damage and durability
For your main weapon that you use for most enemies you can make a Physical Damage weapon or a Rainbow Weapon with random elemental damage from magic crystals.
I had some luck with Broadsword as its easy to craft and has Knockback that you can easily enchant with more Knockback and keep building it as a main additional effect as an essence, you can also put some random Level 1 skills on a accessory that works together with it. There is also accessories and effects that has +1 knockback distance, so you can keep hammering them with no damage taken.
You can also keep crafting and building upon on the go and keep using.
Poison is also good with Cleave skills, especially if you can build a lot of it and put it on an a accessory.

6. my most hated part is the traps, you either got erosion down or worst it rises, so to be careful on that you must attack floor every time you enter the square, rising perception can fool you since it's not 100%, perception potion is limited, so hit the floor while being shot by archers or worse you got knocked and land on the worst spot.
There is a True Sight potion or whatever it is called that reveals all traps on the map including all buff traps, so you can use that in a boss run.

Another tip is your best crafting is done at your base, so it's a good idea to collect high tier materials and good scraps, which is why it's so painful that your storage is so limited. It's also good to have some elemental crystals so you can craft specific weapons reliably.
The reason being you can keep save scumming to get the right weapons with high enchantments.
The cat girl shop can also sell good scraps.
You also get a reliable scrapper after if you enter the second dungeon, so you might want to do a "crafting run" where you preparer high tier materials at base and then beeline to the scrapper.
Really the game only needs a scrapper and an enchanter to solve most of the problems at base.
Some weapons have good additional effects and skill you want to build upon.

Ultimately this game is about a blacksmith, how you solve your problems is with crafting and preparations, farming consumables, farming materials, crafting powerful weapons, enchanting powerful accessories and making the right preparations, it is only "grinding" in terms of needing to do that and you can get better and more efficient at it.

Time to play fresh wohooooo~~~
Due to bug, I won't load the game from steam, I'll wait for stable update with less bug from dev~
(hopefully free of bug soon)

Buuuuuuuut, as experiment, tried fighting 3rd boss, got decimated, now it's became my wall to overcome :ROFLMAO:
Holy shiet, I know 3rd boss is fking ridiculous without decent preparation, especially when the weapon fails to roll what I needed.
In v0.86, manage to get kill the boss after 9th try kek

Now, for the 15th times got decimated, again mostly by the mobs hahahahaha
I didn't play it seriously, I rushed the game to reach 3rd boss to see what's up wwwwwww

Please devs, make the game bug free so I can indulge myself

A question regarding the H scenes/Streamer friendly mode: does the H scenes have any lore attached to them (like Black souls) or is it 100% just H scene dialogue? Also if you put on streamer friendly mode does the events not register/ trigger in the gallery (like the one wherein the level up girl/doroelle give titjob after reading a book)?

I'm asking not because I'm a streamer but because sometimes I just want to play the game with no H scenes (the kinks aren't really for me, but I really LIKE the gameplay) to progress the story. I like the part wherein if you turn that on the "monster girls" just beat you up to death which is more thematic than them trying to drain/fuck you while in death's door. I'm also very interested in the game's lore and if I'll miss an event that has lore when I turn on the streamer friendly mode when playing the main story (beating the bosses).

Whatever Lore you get is in your Journal.
