You technically do need Origin to sign up for Sims 4 (or Steam now) - while you may be able to get away with just offline play and no access to the gallery if you didnt have internet entirely but either way, the game would still be verified as legit. Only way to truly go pirated with Sims 4 is the crack and staying offline - not sure how many copies of Sims 4 are floating around that are pirated 100% but I can't imagine it being so much that it would justify online only.
Thats insane, really, cuz if you cannot play offline, what happens if you dont have acess to internet? if you're in a bad location with no covering signal, if you're traveling or if the world runs out of internet by a terrorist attack? My internet is 4G only and sometimes, and the weather is terrible, guess what? my signal is lame. I hate playing online, specially cuz it keeps somehow trafficking... they cannot force ppl to do it. But I don't have to worry about it. TS5 is gonna take a lot of time to release and I won't want to get it anyways. And there will always be CRACK GROUPS. If it is so, I will then get pirate copy, in the end thats what they're forcing us to do. For instance, believe me or not, I bought original copy of Assassins Creed Syndicate and I couldnt play it, seems there is a feature I tried many times to disable that it just shut down the game if it runs more than a certain amount of my VRAM, stupid right? Then I had to download PIRATE to play with NO ISSUES. Is insane!!!!!!!!!!! I spent a lot of money on the game - back in the days - to end up playing cracked. STUPID.
