There should be a new update for the delucas around the corner, would definitely wait for that if you decide and have the time to catch up. Do you even remember were you left off? ( just curious )
I'm not sure what the last scene was but

As stated these are ADULT games, not porn games. Adult doesn't equal sex, just an adult theme and not for people under 18.

I love Summers Gone for the story and characters and it has Zero sexscenes (lots of sexiness though).COBD is probably the VN that has the best balance of story and lewdness in my opinion.

Adult really should equal sex. If it didn't it shouldn't be called adult since nearly every movie or video game with a story includes sex these days. The whole point of this forum is porn/adult games after all.
No it isn't, it's forum about Adult Virtual Novels (and comics). The Adult part doesn't equal sex no matter how much people wants it to. There are VN's on here that never have any sexual content and yes, they can still be considered adult (violence and other adult themes).

If movies and video games that feature sex aren't called adult, why are these somehow considered to be adult?

What movie or video game that features sex isn't considered adult?

"Adult" is just to show that there are mature themes in any media, usually not considered for young people. The word it self has no specific meaning of content when it comes to describing mature themes in any media.

I think that was like 0.3 maybe 0.4 you would need to restart anyway because 0.7 had a "rework" for how the "quests" or jobs from uncle Wilfred are handled. ( build to be much more interactive with added renders and bonusses ) There are definitely some new and good developments since then, story /lewd scenes/ character progress/build it's really an interesting story. As great as it is, I do sometimes wonder how he goes about his storytelling sometimes he seems to add a lot of stuff spontaneously or gets inspired by all the theories/questions from the game thread, which I don't mean to point out as a "bad" thing more like I wonder about his creative progress in that and how much of the story is actually thought out on paper with a clear direction, then add more features/happenings onto it. Which makes for a really detailed universe about all the different families and character background now being implemented in a glossary or notebook. I don't know sometimes I feel like it misses a clear path forward or something but there are all these idea's/visions that need to be implemented, and the end result is still impressive and immersive..
but it does make for slow updates maybe  ( see a lot of devs struggle with this at some point with what they want to achieve/vision they have for their creation, most recently probably VIS.. or the dev of Sylphine but seems to apply to a lot of remakes/remasters as well..)

I think you are wrong about this one, the term "adult" has a wide and loose definition about what this may cover in example;
- strong or offensive language
- discriminatory themes/language
- nudity
- sex
- violence
- substance use or abuse
- suicide or other traumatic themes
- flashing lights or imagery
- gore
And so on. All considered "adult themes" by how movies/music/books are rated. By that note you are legally an adult at a certain age where you are to be held accountable for your actions as well in a judicial system. The term covers a lot more then just sex..

Watch any movie that involves a relationship between two people and you'll find a sex scene. They're not called adult movies. Search for adult movies and you'll find porn. Cyberpunk 2077 is not called an adult video game and yet it features sex and nudity. Search for adult games and you'll find porn.

Adult themes doesn't make an adult movie/game. Nearly everything has an adult theme these days. Nobody calls them adult though.

You're completely missing the point of the word "Adult" here. It's use in "Adult VN" don't have anything to do with sex, it simply means things that aren't suited to young people, i don't see how this is so hard to understand.

CP2077 and others aren't labeled as "adult" since they have an official age restriction on them that tells anyone who buys them what age it's appropriate for. Same with porn, it's illegal under different ages in different countries.

Anywho, I'm out of this discussion since if you don't get it by now there is nothing else I can say to explain it to you.

There's a literal age restriction on certain video games called ''adults only''. It only applies to games featuring graphic sex or extreme violence and has only been applied 27 times. No other form of media is considered adult unless it features sex. Why should adult visual novels be the sole exception? I haven't been able to find any definition of what makes an adult visual novel ''adult'' but search for the term and you will once again find porn.

Either way, I'm going to delete my initial comment on the matter since this has spiraled way outside of relevance for ''the swordbearer''. You should probably do the same.

After having actually played the game now I can safely say it is visually stunning, has really good dialogue and an excellent balance of sex scenes and story. Disregard anything I've said until this point about it having too few sex scenes.
Thanks for playing! It's really no problem if you feel like the sex scenes are way too less. One thing I've loved about the people in this thread is that it never goes out of hand and becomes a toxic discussion like I've seen in many other threads so I'm grateful that even though opinions differ here, people are still cordial. I also try to reply and make sense of progression decisions if someone has doubts/questions about the way I write/plan. At the end of the day, it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea but I appreciate the feedback nonetheless

well that also has to do with your way of handling criticism, i recall where people were complaining about the prostitute and mc's interactions with her. you didnt go on a 1000 word rant as some other devs do, didnt make fun of them or tell them to play another game (iirc) and even went on to make it so people could avoid it. you're a good bloke and this thread represents that. you'll always have some people that get mad or whatever but i think the way the devs interact with them plays a big part

This is absolutely true. To be fair, however, it can really get to you if you've created something you really love and literally dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of people all the time give you criticism, whining, and insults over it. One of the hardest things to do is to learn to be OK with that and to keep going anyway. I've had a lot of friends over the years — aspiring writers, cartoonists, musicians, and other artistic types — who worked really hard but ultimately let negativity get to them and then quit. I'm not saying it's OK to go apeshit on someone, but it's definitely understandable.

depends though, a certain female dev went on a complete rant about someones taste and i think even intellect, because someone said he wasnt happy with the endings not being very happy lol

I don't know why you're saying "depends". This doesn't conflict with anything I said:
I'm not saying it's OK to go apeshit on someone, but it's definitely understandable.
To reiterate, I'm only saying I can understand how someone might respond like this. I'm not saying it's OK.

Me who hasn't added that patch to the game yet :

Funny how I have it ready but always forget to put it in sigh.

This is very true. When I first posted the game here on f95, I didn't login to the site for a day I think because of fear of how it would be received. I got lucky with the group of people that tried the game out since I think 90% were supportive. I remember losing it when I hit 50$ on Patreon because I expected this to be a hobby so I consider myself very lucky.

Random update : I'm coding the last free roam scene as we speak and then just going through the game for pathing/visual bugs. After this, I add music and sfx and post the game on Steam and Patreon. I'm sure someone will post it here soon!
