"If I can't get the support I'm hoping for by the fourth chapter, I'll conclude that the game isn't loved, and sadly, I'll have to abandon it..."
From his patreon page:LUL:
lol, well, at least he's up front about it but these days it's safe to assume that will happen almost every time. I can count on 1 hand the number of devs that finish an AVN every 1-3 years and either start another one or retire (as it should be), the rest either abandon it or let it devolve into a fuck-scene-of-the-month that never ends and let the backgoround story it started with mostly die. There's plenty of AVNs I love, I just think it's stupid to pay for them before they are finished. Who buys a book 1 chapter at a time? Stephen King himself even tried that, and failed miserably (at least compared to what he would have made had he stuck to his old publisher/complete book model). Not only that I don't use Patreon for anything, only a 1-time payment through SS or BB for finished AVNs if I liked them.

It's always funny that such lads don't mention the range of the desired support that they'd like to receive. What a coincidence huh?

I see services like Patreon to be more for people who want to support the developer and encourage them to keep working. But if a dev is not passionate enough about their project, they shouldn't even be working on it in the first place. They should be happy for what subscriptions they get and then see what happens when they release a final product on say, Steam. The way this dev worded this... why would anyone in their right mind subscribe? Due to the low chances of success (by the dev's standards), they very well would be throwing their money away. No guarantees of the game being completed. Not a smart marketing strategy, IMO.

Well gonna keep an eye on it, waiting some more chapters to start it, but looks really good, and really hope the shy/socail anx nature MC is a real thing and not just for early (not played game, just based on resume from OP). I'm really tired with over cool confident powerful MC with 35cm cock which nothing out of control. So hope this story is served with good writed char ! Gonna whatch it, gl Devs !

Exactly. And it shouldn't need some dev statement to see that. Maybe 2-3% of AVNs ever released here ever get finished (with those stats if the goal is to make $$$ making an AVN is not the way to do it, better off just investing the money you'd spend on it and reinvesting the profits and using the time working on it to just work at McDonald's or Walmart instead) Buying half a story that gets abandoned after a clifhanger after 4-5 updates is dumb. If it's just a hobby done in free time it's doubtful updates to this will happen more often than 2x a year and with 24 months for 4 updates before getting abandoned if one subs for $5 a month they just paid $120 for half a story. Maybe if refunds were possible if it ended up abandoned people would be more willing to risk it, sadly it's not, and it's silly to expect readers to assume the risk with their money. I said it before but I miss the old days of game development. When only those working on the game got early access to it, nothing was released before it was finished, and the dev assumed all financial risk of making it, even if it took going out and getting a business loan to see it finished.

" Sanctions Will Be Applied: If unauthorized sharing is detected, the person in question will be removed from the community. Also, upcoming updates and contents will be released later than planned. In short, if someone shares the game unauthorizedly, the next episode will deliberately be published with a 2-3 month delay. The unauthorized sharing by an individual will have adverse effects on the entire community. Please act thoughtfully and consider the welfare of the community in your actions."

Interesting

I currently sub to 15 devs. The type of devs I sub to usually are very communicative, interact with their community, and are consistent. They don't make crazy demands like, "reeee, if I don't receive x support by x chapter...".

You gotta build your reputation. Show that you're worth subscribing to. As they say, you can't get rich over night...

:ROFLMAO::LOL:
i just saw that on his page i glanced at it before but didn't look in the about section so i guess we can assume that this game will be finished well abandoned in 3 more updates because he/she is trying to already extort people for support/donations i get it it is about money and all but that is the wrong way of going about it . but still this will be abandoned because he/she has a big ego and are too ambitious out the gate just SMFH :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
If the goal is to get rich quick like it sounds an AVN is not the way to do it. If money is more important than telling a story they are probably wasting their time and everyone else's.

This shit has sooooo many red flags. A flashy nothing burger demo with nice renders but zero substance or depth.. check, Dev already talking about not releasing or abandoning game if patreon demands aren't meet.. check. Incredibly sus link to a previous game that was abandoned by the ( lets be real here prolly the same dev lol) check. All its missing now is a planned rework after the 3rd or 4th update and you would have the 4 horsemen of the abandoned game.

I've spent maybe $200-300 over the past 4 years or so. All of those were 1-time payments of $20-30 after it was done. To me the sub business model is just silly, particularly if if it gets abandoned or shit gets added or changed midstory that I don't like (Ie lolis removed when it was originally a loli AVN, NTR added when it was originally NTR-free, etc) then I basically just tossed my money into a bonfire. Hard pass on that. Can you imagine if other consumer goods followed the same model, with consumers assuming the production risk? Something like I'll build you a car if you pay me $1000/mo over the next 3 years. But there's no guarantees you get the car you willl think you will get and might only end up with half a car and no engine if I don't get enough suckers, er subs, to sign up for that deal, and there is no contract protecting you.

Lmfao... This is so outrageous that it's hilarious. This is Scooby doo levels of villainy. Not even DPC pulls off shit like this. And on your first (as if) game as well.

If you don't see this game getting abandoned within the year, you deserve to lose your money.

and that's a good point, which is why I feel a dev needs to earn their reputation. You say, remove loli and add NTR.... and I'm like, if you had NTR but remove it because review bombs and F95 autists pressured too much, why would I give my money? Same concept, just different viewpoints. So yeah, the business model can be silly in the wrong hands. Not every dev abuses this, though. That's why I choose carefully who I support.

He did it for come inside, demon boy and now this. Just publish a few chapters and get paypigs to pay your bills for the next two years. Nice business scheme. You have to admire the grift.

Now that's a new spin for me... I suspected Demon Boy... never thought Come Inside was also apart of this... hmmm...

Yeah now that you mention it it looks like he's just trying to recoup all he can for the time already sunk into it even when it was already abandoned. Most devs make $0 (sometimes even in the red for awhile) on their AVN until they have a track record at least (ie a finished one that didn't suck already under the belt). And even then it's probably not alot more than min wage after expenses are paid. If money is important to you then it's a bad idea to make niche things like AVNs mainly for the money, there's more efficient ways to spend one's time for that (hell even real porn production/website would probably be better even with the market saturation it already has and even with most every decent porn star going independent on OnlyFans).
