I found this story at the start of June, went through it this week and loved it, and came back here to bookmark the thread. I'm so sad to see it being abandoned. I also don't understand what "the ops got me" means, though maybe family or friends of the dev found out about the project and didn't approve? Though I also agree it's kind of the dev to be upfront and honest about not continuing. I don't see that often here.
I was really excited about this VN, for a few different reasons. Rare to see a time-travel storyline, rare to find someone who can write fun dialogue for married characters (regardless of how well-written the English is - that's what proofreaders are for, which he could have found here on F95, and I would have volunteered if that was a deciding factor in keeping things going). Swinging couples without humiliation and wife-stealing? A breath of fresh air around here! As to AI illustrations, I frankly find them a heck of a lot more attractive than most of the Daz crap which was the primary mode of making VNs in past years.
OutsidePanic, if you ever come back here and read this, I don't know the specifics of what happened, but I hope you're well and that you'll get another chance to make this story or another one. You asked if the concept was good enough to write as a non-adult novel and I'd say yes it is. But you're also kind of asking the wrong crowd on this site - whoever is here is here because of the adult content. Some of us, myself included, are also here for exciting stories and interesting characters and not the same old cliches. But the adult content is the basis of why we support creators, and why we join discord servers and chat here, etc.
Again, not knowing the situation, but if you're willing I'd also encourage you to pick up this story again in some way. You could publish written chapters (adult or non-adult) online. You could do renders of specific scenes within the story, and introduce the scene briefly with text but then the main content is the renders, like a comic book. Or you could just publish occasional images, Abigail and Joel having fun in different times & worlds without any context, just fun images, like pin-ups. There's ways to think outside the box of "this must be a VN," both here at F95 and on other websites. I'd support you doing any of that, and I'm sure others here would as well.
But it's all your choice, and I wish you well whatever happens. Thanks for sharing a glimpse of your creativity with us in the prologue and in your plans for future parts of the story, which all sounded very fun, and images which looked very sexy. Good luck to you!
