I feel like the game was better before the rewrite...
I strongly disagree. This version gives more details on both the characters and situations and fleshes out both a lot more. There's also a lot more context given to what happens and it's more like an actual story now where the decisions you have and make actually make sense as options.

Yep and the last update on Patreon was 5 months ago, definitely not a good sign.
Though they commented on the Patreon just 2 months ago saying they're in a bit of a writing block.

Well, as much as I didn't want to, I ended up taking an extended semi-hiatus from this project. Usually I would manage one or two passages every week or so, but it was really tough to get any momentum going. I wish I had a specific reason or cause so I could avoid it in the future, but I think it's just a combination of writer's block, personal stuff, and the world going to shit. Let's be real, it's challenging to feel inspired when it feels like the very worst people in the world are making more and more progress every single day in their never ending campaign to ruin everything.
So I decided to start back at the beginning and just do illustrations until I felt enough of a connection to the story and characters to work on the writing part. So I won't pretend this some monumental release...there's a chunk of new story that's essentially a bridge between Casey returning to Amelia's house and then deciding where to go next (in this case, it's Sophie's party). There's 8 new illustrations, all towards the beginning, plus a handful of new character avatars. I also redid some styling of the game and switched all the images to webp, which cuts down on the file size quite a bit even though there's more pictures. I tried some new stuff with some of the illustrations (like first-person view!) so let me know if it works or not. If you're at the tier to request illustrations and want one of your future requests to be first-person, let me know that as well.
So there you go! I'm going to try to get regular releases going again, so send me some positive vibes if you have any. I'm also very aware that I'm over my 2 game donation milestone. I've got a handful of side projects that are in varying degrees of readiness to share with you guys, and I hope to get at least one in a releasable state soon. Maybe I'll put together a teaser for each one so you guys can vote for your favorite.

I agree with you.
I also remember that rewrite was quite short. Old version was much longer and had more content. Whats the progress of rewrite?? Did rewrite finally managed to catch up to original?
Hmm, i need to play the old version after reading this, this version ends just a bit into the 2nd day of transformation and there is no porn in it.

I guess that answers the question about the amount of content in rewrite. Clearly it is still lacking.
If you missed old original version, then you can try it. There is definitely much bigger amount of content.
That's always the danger with rewrites. The author gets enthused with correcting bad code and perhaps rewriting parts that had gone off the rails a bit, but the actual process of starting again and rewriting every single passage is never as enjoyable as it was the first time. Version one wasn't perfect but I can't help thinking if it hadn't been impossible to keep adding passages to it, it would have been far better to keep writing it until at least some storylines were complete than to begin again from scratch.

I haven't played this game yet, so I'm curious, do you have to be transformed or can you resist/avoid the transformation and remain fully male?
