It doesn't matter, no one will hear it, the author himself is not sitting here

Nah I'm with him. I'm a payer and TheCount's inconsistency in just communicating is abhorrent. I've been sniffing copium for too long, he's never going to become consistent again at this point.

Just ended my subscription
Fair. Though have to point out that this will probably make him slower lol.

Then again the space is filled with people taking $10k a month and giving back little to nothing. :p

You're right. I'm not sure what TheCount is getting right now but I was genuinely shocked & staggered in RL when I found out that ViciNeko is pulling in nearly 50k USD a month from his various payment processor accounts. 50 fkking K USD, EACH MONTH. Don't get me wrong he does good work but I seriously regret having studied a profession.

I should have gone into animation, or not studied anything and dicked around with blender till I got good.

well there are many looking to get their genshin fix, and they want mihoyo quality price in the adult version so rather than throwing at gacha, they throw at their favorite dealer.

I've been a long time subscriber. How is he going to become slower than before when he's earning way more than he's ever done? He truly reached peak productivity during Seraphine. If anything, the more subscribers he has the slower and more comfortable he is. He's got that classic Steam early access cash attitude where he's already earned what he needs to so the incentive to follow through with his projects is lower.

He's still my favorite creator, but I'm also lowkey worried about the current project since Patreon's new consent rules. Most creators I follow have done what they can do or moved to a different payment platform. TheCount is somehow in the clear for now but I fear his whole page might randomly disappear (temporarily I hope) someday as other creators have been banned for "less"

By that logic if people take away all funding they will work to the bone to push out animations.

There is probably some middle ground where, the animator chooses between their day job and animation, and if animation income starts dipping the temptation to just sit out while they do their other job becomes greater.

Ideally we want to support those animators who become more productive the more money you give them. These people are rare as unicorns.

I agree with both sides of this discussion, for sure. On one hand, Count has never been the quickest animator in the game- but that's balanced out by the fact that his work is pretty darn good quality, and is typically 5-6 minutes (longer average anim length than just about every other animator these days). He's also a notoriously inconsistent communicator.

But this current project is not only significantly shorter (counting each scene as one full loop, which is around 15-20 seconds) than his previous works, it also has far less variation, and to my eyes, no real increase in quality compared to his most recent finished anim (Cammy). Yet, it has already taken him longer to finish this project than it has longer, more complex projects in the past.

I'll be the first to admit I don't know anything about animation- this is entirely speculative observance on my part. I also know firsthand how much of a bitch creative burnout can be, especially when your health/personal life is an issue, like it has been for Count. But I also also know it's very likely that he's working on a big project with another creator- all signs pointing towards that being Yeero. I would like to think his lack of progress on this project means that he's busy with the collaborative one, and at some point that's gonna come out and the blow the tits off of every single one of us.

Hi everyone!

I got some good and some bad news.
The bad news is, earlier this month my PC died. First my monitor fell over and broke, which sucks but is no major holdup. However after replacing it and booting up my PC it had slowed to a crawl and couldnt even open the explorer. Turns out two of my harddrives were broken. One of them with all my project files and the other had the Operating System installed on it.

Even tho i have backups of all my current projects this still cost me a good chunk of progress and i was without a PC for about 1 week which made it impossible to get Tracer done in time for this month.

The good news is i have a sideproject which was planned as a surprise release and the odds of finishing it in time were pretty good.
So i deceided to redirect my efforts to this projects and have something to show for this month.

This a 47 second Loop with climax and more. One big problem with adding climaxes to loops is that you cant realy make much of a mess with the fluids because the fluid will have to somehow be looped aswell but i found a good solution for that here.

You will be able so see the full animation by tomorrow and have it fully rendered the day after. Sound will also be commissioned tomorrow because it still needs face animation and fluids.

I hope this update is not too much of a bummer and wish you all a good rest of the weekend.
