Bugs, there is no reason for them. I have often seen devs say I spent X number of hours on each up date, but some do not spend anytime playing said update to make sure it is bug free. After all most devs expect to receive money for their games, don't they?

- Games with that Japanese shame thing are really annoying. Either say yes or no before sex.
- Oh noooo. It's the Demonlord... Can't you be more creative?!
- Guys with crazy large dicks. Which sexually experience woman would like that in real life?!
- Ugly old men molesting young super models. What the fuck is hot about smegma and ugly old men?! Makes me want to puke.
- Characters that are unaware of running around like sluts. Why not just explain why they're dressed that way?!
- Same old tilesets, songs, sounds and graphics in rpg maker games.
- Games that treat their women like garbage.
- Me trying to make a game and getting to horny to make any progress at all. :poop:

Oh so very many.

Peeping. I don't care what anyone says it's creepy as fuck. It's what perverts and stalkers do and instantly makes the protag into the biggest creep in the game.

Which also leads in to...

Sleep sex. Or lets call it what it actually is, rape. You have your main character, the guy you are building up to be the hero of your tale, rape his family and/or friends in their sleep.

Breast staring. You know the one, MC meets a person with large breasts or lots of cleavage and starts staring at it while people are taking but doesn't hear anything. That girl wouldn't later become a love interest, because she thinks you are a cunt.

The other one isn't so much an ingame thing as it is an incorrect use of the tag system. It's well known i'm a lesbo, it's in the title of my username so it's not something I hide, therefore I love lesbian scenes. What irritates the ever living fuck out of me is looking for games tagged lesbian and the extent of that content is 2 girls kissing while one bounces on a cock. Not quite lesbian.

Oh, I forgot defeat sex that leads to a game over. Why tf is the sex in a porn game being treated as a punishment and not a reward?
It makes sense thematically. Heroine is defeated and has to suffer the consequences. As with those Super Meat Boy - type games that expect you to die a lot, what's key is to be able to reset quickly and not lose much progress at all.

Dead fathers.:

It is just lazy writting.
I find having to work around a living father is way more fun then having to just have him convient out of the way.

Author fetishes:
Look i get it.
You like big tits and anal.
I dont.
So dont make my character talk about how much he loves big tits and anal.

Main character internal dialog: Use sparingly(Like to give direction to the next plot hook) but never ever have them have an internal molog about how they feel about something.

Internal dialog:
Unless i got mind reading powers.
Dont show me what there thinking.

Information my character doesnt know:
Nothing kill immersion as quickly as being show the big bad in his lair revealing his plot.
I like to put myself into my character's shoe's.
Knowing stuff he doesnt kill's the joy.

Dreams:
If you use dreams your a bad writter.

But above all else:
Luck.
If something can only happen by sheer luck it need to be execptionaly rare.
So many stories only work because the main character just keep getting lucky.
It kills the feeling of earning my victory when i am given it by the plot.

Ow right.
Gameplay.
I forgot that existed as most porn games dont have it.
It would be nice to have some accauly got damm gameplay.

Grind:
Having to get 275 blow jobs to move on to tit job isnt gameplay.
It is a waste of my god damm time.

Trigger hunting: If i have to go look for the next trigger(because you arent clear where to find it)
I am going to be angry.
A good game makes it clear where the next trigger is.
A great game doesnt have triggers that move the story on and instead have gameplay that let you advance the story in your own way.

Lab rats 2, superpowered, stationmaster, freecities, etc.
Good games follow the philospy of:
Here is a problem.
Here are your tools.
Go and fix it.

I'm also tired of seeing the Honey Select male MC. You know the one, because it's the only one that every dev uses, the only difference is glasses or not. And it's not like they can't do good male characters, because the side characters all look different and interesting, but the MC is always the same boring "cool guy" who smokes a cigarette or cigar maybe, has messy hair, one facial expression, and doesn't take off his clothes during sex.

-Lifesim sandbox games where you have to click several times to do basic hygiene things, like brush your teeth. There is nothing interesting about this, it adds nothing to your game. A single "get ready" button from the protag's bedroom is more than enough.

-"Gay" games purely focusing on sissification and literally transforming into a women and then having lots of straight sex. Why is it such a nightmare to find gay content about *anything* else?

-Games that are self-labelled as having "gay" content, so I spend hours playing through them only to discover that they are completely misleading. These are the devs who add the gay tag to their game, because six years ago they added a placeholder to this one bit, that you'll never see, that they might expand upon, after the Holocene. And then unironically write AVOIDABLE in all caps in their game description. Well done! You made everyone happy! :D

(I will say though; love and praise to all the devs who actually make games that successfully cater to straight and queer players at the same time. It's not easy. You are the best and deserve more recognition than you get.)

Overused shit which makes me roll my eyes.

1. Repeated usage of same 3d assets with zero changes: Floyd 8, George 8, "black girl with Tempest hair", "Rebel girl with MRL Gem hair", fucking overused Haven Park etc.
2. Peeking through the bathroom door. One, it's been done to death. Two, who doesn't close the door? Three, don't offer me the stupid choice on whether to peek or not.
3. Masturbating while calling the fantasy subject's name loudly. One, when people masturbate they take precautions to keep their activities hidden, not leave their door open. Two, following the previous point: when others in the house, people masturbate as quietly as possible.
4. The overused "roles" in incest stories: I don't mind an incest story but please, assign the sisters different roles already. Old sister is always ..., young sister is always... . Enough.
5. Riling the MC and the player against a nasty character and when he finally extracts his revenge it turns out she really loves being abused. How convenient. And lazy.
6. Non-MC thoughts. This is just lazy writing, it has no equivalent in books or movies, only used by lazy developers who don't know how to push the plot forward without telling us the motives of characters instead of showing them by the characters' actions.

But on the other hand, here is some overused shit I'll never get tired of playing...
1. "Man of the house" scenarios.
2. Impregnating (all) other girls.
3. Combination of the two above.
4. Yoga/Massage/suntan scenes. Yes, they are corny and yes, I love them all.
5. Night rapes sex. When I take my wife's glasses off her sleeping head she always wakes up but in porn land you can anally rape anyone just taking a nap, and I love it.

While I agree with some of the things you say this point I don't agree with. In literature both the Third Person Narrator and the Omniscient Narrator are very common, the Third Person Narrator has limited knowledge of the various characters and you will usually read their thoughts. The Omniscient Narrator knows everything about everyone and will tell you (the reader).

Some stories are better with a first person perspective, others greatly benefit from knowing the thoughts of various characters. If a VN is merely meant to feature a self insert of you, the reader/player, then sure, knowing the thoughts of others may be odd... but I believe, depending on what kind of VN it is, mostly the story driven variety, that both Third Person and Omniscient Narrator type VNs serve a purpose, sometimes it IS important to learn who other characters feel and think in order to establish a deeper connection with them. None of which can really be conveyed in VNs. It's even in the name "Visual Novel", I think it would generally be better to put more emphasis on the "novel" part. If people want straight porn there are so many better alternatives featuring actual people and not pixel characters. VNs, by nature, cannot really "show" all that much. If they did they would be movies. They still are mostly just "books" with pretty pictures, they can help with the narrative, you can feature facial expressions that can show you what someone feels, but sometimes you need to know more abstract thoughts and this is when a Third Person or Omniscient Narrator makes sense. It depends on the story of course.

This is the only one i'd disagree with.

In any form of media the main character is never the only character followed.

Many times actions are explained and context is given especially in books where actions can't be seen. Motives are often explained, sometimes in great detail.

Take Kill Bill. The Widow goes through the entire movie not knowing why the people she called her friends did that to her but it was all explained in the meeting at the end in the sit down with Bill.

Scooby Doo has each episodes plot explained in detail at the very end when the bad guy is revealed who would have got away with it if it wasn't for those damn kids.

Not everything can be shown, sometimes things need explaining.

You're absolutely correct. An all knowing narrator is a legitimate form of storytelling, of course.

I guess my gripe is in VNs where the guy is the obvious and de-facto only protagonist and the lazy developers cuts to the thoughts of a secondary character to let the players know that him showing her his huge schlong changes her perspective of him by 180 degrees (instead of showing it via the girl's actions).

Oh, that I will agree with.

That is lazy writing and could easily be replaced with actions or facial expressions.

Yes, this IS lazy writing. Simple emotions should always be shown. Not narrated. I mostly talked about more complex emotions or thoughts that cannot be easily conveyed by facial expressions or actions alone.

This is a problem with assets selection mostly, but I roll my eyes when I see the MC is incredibly rich but has nothing to do with the game/story.
If he is an adult he lives in a mansion with a few super cars and if he is younger, he has a huge bedroom with PC and technology that looks from the future.
Even worse if he has to work to buy something for the girl/woman he likes and the games go like: "+ $50".

I have some:

  • Incomplete storylines. I know, sometimes it can't be avoided but it still annoys me, especially when the last update ends with a cliffhanger.
  • Games tagged as gay just because it has one single FutaxMale scene (or, TransxMale) or just simply have a guy seeing the MC for more than two seconds and bam, gay tag. It's so difficult to warn at the description or dev notes that this game have "almost to zero" gay content?? people who doesn't want too much gay content would appreciate that info, and the ones who look for gay games too.
  • That almost every game that includes chastity play (except hornstown) include sissification. Yeah, I don't want to dress and wear a wig like a woman just because I have the cage. Fuck that.

And that's it, (not) surprisingly I don't play too many games since the offer in gay focused games is very limited.

I have totally original idea for a visual novel, hear me out. First, the couple goes to a clothing store (I'll use something no one has before like Ashley's Boutique) to try on clothes that aren't on any of the racks or shelves. Then they go to a school where everyone is wearing uniforms for no discernable reason. A fight breaks out and the MC beats up the kid(s) without facing any consequences, legal or otherwise. Then the rival is introduced, I just need to use an uncommon model... I know! How about Darius 8! Of course, he has nefarious intent, which has nothing to do with being black except for all the subtle racist implications I'll include in the text.

All that's left to do is add on Dicktator to our MC and leave it on its default gigantic size. To top it off, how about I don't even use the geoshell it comes with and leave the penis with a stretched-out torso texture that looks horrible.

I'm a fucking genius, this is the most original project of all time!

I believe the problem stems from availability. Much like most of the female models for sale are exceptionally attractive, many of the other assets like homes, clothing, and vehicles are in the same boat. Grand houses, supercars, and high fashion clothing make for interesting renders. Even stuff like city apartments are usually massive made-for-TV places that the MC would need a yearly income of almost a million dollars to afford.

I had to custom build an apartment in Daz because I couldn't find anything that was appropriate for a middle-class family. And let me tell you, customizing stuff takes time that most devs would rather spend on making renders.
